Thanks . It was a fun but nerve racking at the same time.

Loving the highlights. That's definitely a unique twist from what we've been used to seeing around here.

Keep up the great work. Northwestern and the Big 10 is very fun. I used them way back in the day on PS2.
Thanks . I grew up in a Big 10 household. Dad rooted for Illinois, Mom rooted for Ohio State, and I latched onto Purdue for some reason. Big 10 teams are usually my favorite teams for dynasty modes. Love the Tulane dynasty, currently reading through the earlier years that are in that thread.

Game Notes
-Northwestern is coming off a wild game against Minnesota last week. A game in which they were in full control off only having to tie it late and force overtime. They have now won back to back games and are looking like they might be finding their stride. Their defense is still struggling to limit any team's offense. Luckily for them Iowa's offense isn't what has been winning them games this season, it has been their defense. Northwestern will need to use the strong running game this week and hope that freshman quarterback Clayton Thorson can keep his strong play going, but without the interceptions. Turnovers have plagued the Wildcats all season who sit at an NCAA-worst -13 turnover differential.

-Iowa was ranked #1 in the nation for 2 weeks before dropping last week's game against Penn State in overtime 38-31. Iowa brings one of the best defenses in college football to the table and will hope that it can shut down this potent running game Northwestern has built up this season. Iowa is going to be playing angry after losing that nail biter last week so expect the Hawkeyes to come out with passion and look to demolish the Wildcats both physically and on the scoreboard.

Re: Chicago's NCAA Team (Northwestern Dynasty)

Wildcats' Defense MIA in Iowa Loss

Wildcats welcome the #8 Iowa Hawkeyes to Ryan Field to try and pull off a big upset and put the Wildcats in a prime chance for a bowl appearance. Northwestern has had a ton of trouble on the defensive side of the ball this entire season. The would remain the trend today against the Hawkeyes. Heisman Trophy candidate, Iowa running back, Jordan Canzeri was on a rampage from the start of this game. Both by running the ball and catching the ball. He himself was able to put Iowa up 14 points early. Even though he was off to a great start he would get hurt the drive after he was forced to fumble. He would not return to the game and the Hawkeyes would have to use their second RB for the remainder of the game. Their backup running back came in and continued to dominate the game. After a sloppy first half by both teams, the Hawkeyes took a 24-16 lead into the half.

The Wildcats had held their own through the first half keeping it just a one score game. Northwestern took full advantage of receiving the 2nd half kickoff. They drove right down the field and scored a touchdown and converted their 2 point attempt to tie the game at 24. Iowa, however, would answer right back with a 63 yd touchdown pass to take the lead right back. After trading punts the Hawkeyes found the end zone once again early into the 4th to give them a 38-24 lead. Northwestern would make it one score again yet again at 38-31 but were unable to get a stop when they needed it most. And to rub it in the Hawkeyes score in the final minute for the dagger. Iowa takes the game 45-31.

Recruiting Update

The Wildcats were able to snag some recruiting commits this past week despite throwing away a chance at an upset against top 10 Iowa. Below are the committed players so far on the year. Looking at the Northwestern board it looks like more should be announced sooner than later.

Game Notes
-Northwestern yet again is coming off a close but high scoring game in which they came up just short. The Iowa Hawkeyes dominated the game in terms of offensive production. The Wildcats just couldn't seem to stop anything. Their schedule only gets harder against the Nebraska Cornhuskers this week in Lincoln, Nebraska. The offensive production continues to be there for the Wildcats but the defense has still yet to really had an impact in any game this season. They are really going to need something to try and stop the Husker running game as it is one of the best in the nation.

-Meanwhile, Nebraska is coming off a tough loss against the Minnesota Golden Gophers last week which has dropped Nebraska not only out of the top 5 in ranking but also the top 10. Nebraska just seemed to run out of gas against the Gophers and they were held to just 7 2nd half points while Minnesota put up 28 and put the game away. The Huskers come into this one with a top 15 running offense and a top 10 rushing defense. Both of these counter the Wildcats. It will be rough for Northwestern who are looking for a possible upset.

Damn, tough loss bro. Gotta get that defense right. Can't beat anybody giving up 45 points. Aside from Barlay, any good defensive recruits getting wooed?

Yeah, the defense just remains to be an issue. I can't get any pressure on the quarterbacks to try and hurry throws. I have a few more quality defensive line recruits close to committing. My linebackers and secondary are all on the younger side so they should get better as I go.

How often do you bring 6+ rushers?
