Wilton Speight, QB, Michigan

At the risk of seeing another team trade up, the Who Dats refused to be held up by the Who Deys. Standing firm, they still go their man and the heir apparent to Drew Brees, who is soldiering on for one more year (some would say stubbornly). Unless Brees bottoms out or gets hurt, Speight will get a year of mentoring by the NFL's career passing leader before receiving the reins.

Sammy Watkins can never be counted on to stay healthy and no.2 wideout Amara Darboh missed 11 games last season. Sooner or later the Bills will find that guy that's both good enough to be atop the depth chart and available week-in, week-out.

Browning was the 2017 Bednarik winner and the second runner-up last year. As such, he was deserving of a top 10 selection but might have fallen as far as the Panthers has the Bears not snapped him up here. Chicago tried Ron Parker at SS in 2018 and this pick is the result.

Nick Bosa, DE, Ohio St.

Because the Dolphins made a dice-rolling signing of Brett Hundley, they didn't trade up to pick Wilton Speight. Because they signed Tyeler Davison, DT became less of a concern. Next thing to address: the retirement of Cameron Wake. Now the Phins have bookend Buckeye DE's in Bosa and Sam Hubbard. "They" say Nick is going be better than big brother Joey. If he is, defensive-minded Mike Smith is going to be a happy man.

Evans arrived in Ann Arbor as a 195 lb. athlete and departed as a 216 lb. NCAA rushing champion. In San Francisco, Carlos Hyde has averaged 3.5 and 3.6 yards per carry in his two seasons in Josh McDaniels' offense. it's time to let somebody else have a go at it.
