I know, I don't like Air Force losing, even if it is to me. Has been some close games and managed to just about come on top, but the MAC has underwhelmed me a little with the levels of play, thought would be more challenging week in week out but to be fair, this Army team plays better than their ratings I feel.

Re: Duty, Honor, Country - An Army Dynasty

Unbelievable last 14 second of play breaks Miami hearts on an interception then fumble play. Army wins MAC Championship

Ford Field was the place where dreams were made for some, and shattered for others. When QB Trent Steelman drove down the field with 3 minutes to go, it looked like another game winning drive. That was until CB Kokal rose up to take a bad pass and intercepted it in the end zone. Army had struggled to keep the rampant Miami offence off the field and this would be no different on a drive Miami just needed to score, or run the clock down. 10 plays later and 3rd and 4. RB Boucher would take the hand off and sweep right, Sophomore RE Corey Watts shed his block and managed to trip Boucher up before FS Thomas Holloway wrapped him up and a 3 yard loss, which probably put them just out of field goal range. The the kick went up from 49 yards, it looked good but no, it bounces off the bar and ends the wrong side for Miami. Army get the ball back with 35 seconds to play.

Miami go to a deep prevent style defense, QB Trent Steelman looks for an open receiver but feels pressure from the 4 man rush, rolls out and just gets 13 yards before diving out of bounds before the hit came. 23 second left, Steelman sends everyone deep, WR Brian Cobbs streaks across the field and is hit for a 38 yard completion which puts Army on the 22. 14 seconds left in the game, we all know whats coming, a deep pass or if no-one is open Steelman will run to get out of bounds and gain some yards.

Then something happened which will haunt Sophomore CB Dayonne Nunley for the rest of his career. Coach Lincoln re-lives the play. "With no timeouts left and the clock rolling I just had to let Trent call the play whilst rushing to the line. I saw him go back and Miami must have dropped 8 in coverage, Nunley made a great play on the ball and thats's when I thought it was all over. I turned away, put my head in my hands and missed what happened next. The crowd noise had changed and MLB Steven Erzinger was grabbed me by the shoulders, shaking me back and forward like a piece of meat saying, we got the ball coach, we got one more shot at this!!"

"I was in shock, I looked up at the replay and Nunley, their CB instead of just diving to the ground tried to make a play. The most unlikely hero, RT Derek Bisgard hit him so hard the ball flew out of his hands and another unlikely hero, C Will Wilson dived on the ball. It took a good 20 seconds for the officials to pull players off Will for him to emerge with the ball. 2 of the guys that do all the hard work, never get any credit made the play of the season and gave us 7 seconds to change the game"

QB Trent Steelman, after throwing 2 interceptions in the 4th, had one more chance. He took the snap, looked left, Cobbs and Stephens were covered, Barr across the middle. Pressure coming, he lobs one into the back of the end-zone and another unlikely hero, with his first catch of the season, WR Jared McFarlin clutched the ball into his grateful arms. The most incredible last 22 seconds of the game, if you did not see it, you wouldn't believe it. "I hadn't had many opportunities this year to get on the field, but I made the one that I did count. I just tried to get open and keep moving to give Trent an option."

Army celebrate the most unusual comeback victory after the Interception turned fumble gifts them one more shot, and the MAC Championship in their first season. The fairy tail season continues as they look forward to seeing their final ranking and most importantly, where they are going for the Bowl game.

Re: Duty, Honor, Country - An Army Dynasty

Army just hold on to beat the Mean Green in GoDaddy.com Bowl

Mobile, Alabama. The Ladd–Peebles Stadium was this years host for the GoDaddy.com Bowl game between Army and North Texas. After a dominant first half, Army looked like they had forgotten there was a game of Football still being played and it almost cost them as North Texas came back from 21-0 down to tie the game at 28-28. Army finally woke up on the final series of the game as QB Trent Steelman found the Senior, in his final game in an Army football uniform WR Austin Barr who took the 38 yard pass for the winning touchdown. A fitting end to Austin's career with the team and a true send off for the senior's, who before this season didn't have a whole lot to celebrate for.

In a game which lacked any real pace or magical moments, with bigger games going on around the country, this was just a battle of two mid-tier teams going through the motions. It's always fantastic to win a bowl game, but Army will have felt a little cheated that they didn't get one of the bigger teams and a chance to cause an upset. Instead, they did just enough to hold off their own upset from the Mean Green.

Great start to this dynasty. Wow I didn't expect you guys to dominate so quickly, but I guess I underestimated Army's personnel.

I may have missed it, but what bowl game did you play in?

Thank you. The Championship I still don't know how I didn't lose it. Extremely gutted I couldn't see a replay to record it (wasn't a B+ rated play so no highlights), wanted to get a replay just put on here.

I think it has helped, has been really really dreadful so far, need a big 5 weeks to pull something out the bag for this class. Got a couple of 1 stars and a few 2 stars to date, hence the no report on it. Got a few 3 stars primed for a visit!

Sorry, It was the GoDaddy.com bowl vs North Texas at the end, made it a little clearer now. The players played as flat as I felt, wanted something a little more.... but a bowl win is a bowl win.

I didn't think would start this good (and didn't really want to), but the F rated schedule really won't cut it going forward. Thought the MAC would be a good test for Army but proved to be not the case. Could have easily lost 3/4 games tho if not for a bit of luck and big plays with the game on the line.

Army are pretty good despite the starting values. Steelman is good on the move and play-action, FB Hassin is a beast plus Brown in the backfield, lots of speed and misdirection!

Thanks both for checking in.
