Re: NCAA 14 Dynasty Coaching Career ULM

WEEK 11 2014

#22 ULM WARHAWKS 6-1 (2-0)

VS

ARKANSAS STATE 4-3 (2-0)

FINAL SCORE:
#22 ULM-44
ARK STAT2E-20

HAWKS' EXTEND WINNING STREAK

Arkansas State came to play, at least early it appeared that their Senior QB Justice Hansen had. On the games second play, he took a keeper 65 yards yards where he was finally caught from behind by a exhausted Warhawk defender. The Warhawks defense would stuff the Red Wolves three plays in a row forcing them to settle for a opening series FG by Kicker S.Williams 3-0 ARK State

The Warhawks would quickly answer back though as Caleb Evans took a keeper of his own 15 yards for a score. That, along with a Craig Ford FG would give the Warhawks the lead 10-3 after a quarter of play.

The second quarter would see the Warhawks extend their lead early when Evans hit Brown on a 7 yard slant route. 17-3 ULM The Red Wolves would not be discouraged as Hansen continued to run up and down the field. Luckily for the Hawks, the defense would mostly be able to step up when it mattered most. The Redwolves would get enough going to add two TD's of their own from HB W.Wand on a 26 yard rush and 30 yard pass from Hansen. At that point the score was tied 17-17. Craig Ford would put the Hawks on top as the half ended when he hit a 33 yard field goal. 20-17 ULM at Half.

The second half would be a heavy dose of Derrick Gore as he rushed the ball more then 30 times for the second time this season. Those rushes would result in two second half TD runs (1 yd and 29 yds) to go with another TD and another FG, the Warhawks pulled away to a easy win 44-20.

WEEK 12 2014

#22 ULM WARHAWKS 7-1 (3-0)

AT

SOUTH ALABAMA JAGUARS 4-4 (2-1)

FINAL SCORE:
#22 ULM:38
S ALABAMA:32

RECORDS FALL IN WARHAWKS VICTORY

Three school records were broken in the Warhawks week 12 matchup with South Alabama. Derrick Gore broke the Warhawks record for career rushing TDs with his 31st of his career. Cole Garvin broke the Jaguars record for passing yards in a game (459) and the Jaguars HB Tra Minter broke the schools receptions record for a single game (13).

The game itself would be a back and forth slug fest from two of the best teams in the Sunbelt conference. Initially, the game would start off slowly with both the Warhawks and the Jaguars seeing early failures of their offenses as both teams went three and out on their first drives. The Warhawks would start off so slowly, QB Caleb Evans would start off 1-7 on his passing attempts. After the Jaguars, initial drive, the Warhawks would get off a decent drive but would fail after reaching Jaguar territory. This forced the Warhawks to settle for a Craig Ford 42 yard field goal. 3-0 ULM The Jaguars would quickly answer this score by taking the lead with a 25 yard TD pass from Cole Garvin to Tra Minter as the HB ran to the endzone untouched. 7-3 USA

The second quarter would see an extreme uptick in scoring. This scoring would start on the very first play of the quarter as Derrick Gore ran in his record breaking 31st touchdown of his career from six yards out. 10-7 ULM South Alabama would again answer quickly as Garvin took one him self on a QB keeper from 14 yards out. 14-10 USA. The consecutive scoring drives would continue as on the Warhawks next drive, Xavier Brown would haul in a seven yard strike from Caleb Evans. 17-14 ULM

The defenses would for a short time, get back to their solid defensive play as both teams were forced to punt, that is until J.J. Dallas picked off a pass for the Warhawks defense. This INT would result in another ULM score as Evans ran one in himself from 7 yards out 24-14 ULM. Not to be deterred, Colin would lead his team down the field on a drive that ended as time expired in the second quarter and with a G. Patterson 38 yard FG. 24-17 ULM at half.

The Jaguars got the ball at the start of the second half but were halted by the Warhawk defense. On the ensung drive, The warhawks would look to take command of the game as Brian Williams made it into the endzone after a 13 yard pass from Evans. 31-17 ULM To cap off the third quarter, the Jaguars would add three points of their own. 31-20 ULM

Early in the fourth quarter, The Warhawks and Evans would look to again take control of the game as Evans ran in his second rushing TD of the game from 7 yards out 38-20 ULM.

The Jaguars still had plenty of fight in them as they score two more TD's to bring their point total to 32 (one missed 2pt conv). The Warhawks would be able to run out the clock and gain another victory after a close call 38-32 final.

WEEK 13 2014

#18 ULM WARHAWKS 8-1 (4-0)

AT

WESTERN KENTUCK HILL TOPPERS 5-4 (3-1)

FINAL SCORE:
#18 ULM-64
WKU-28

Evans' Career day soars Warhawks past Hilltoppers

Seven touchdowns, SEVEN! Thats how many Caleb Evans would toss in the Warhawks week 13 matchup with WKU. This would also make Evans the Schools single game passing TD record holder. Those seven touchdowns would go to five different receivers to include two to Marcus Green.

The two to Marcus Green were his first two TD's of the season which seems a bit odd due to the fact that he is in the top 10 in receiving yards in the whole country. His small frame may be to blame however as he sits at 5'8 192 lbs. That might make him a bit harder to get the ball to in the tight confines of the redzone.

The first quarter would be slow for both teams as they felt each other out. About midway through the quarter, the Warhawks would strike first with a 40 yard Craig Ford FG 3-0 ULM. More back and forth action would take place before the Hilltoppers took the lead on a blown coverage 56 yard reception by Q.Jernighan from QB Drew Eckels 7-3 WKU

The Warhawks would explode in the second quarter. Derrick Gore would score the first second quarter TD with a 1 yard run, this after going to the sidelines with back spasms a few players earlier. Josh Pederson and Xavier Brown would get TD receptions of their own as the Warhawks rolled. 24-7 ULM After Browns TD, the Warhawks would stop the Hilltoppers on three straight plays to give the Hawks to ball back with nearly a minute to go in the half. The Hawks would get a little over confident as Evans' tried to force a pass down the middle. This pass would be intercepted leaving the Hilltoppers with a excellent chance to score. And score they would. D' Andre Febry, the Hilltoppes RB would take a pass 30 yards to the house with 29 seconds left on the clock. 24-14 ULM Still pressing the issue, The Warhawks would come out firing. The drive would be flawless and quick and Caleb Evans hits his third passing TD of the game, this one would be Marcus Green's first of the season and lead to a 31-14 halftime lead for ULM

The second half would see the Warhawks continue to pull away from WKU as Evans threw his fourth TD of the game. This one to R.J. Turner on a corner route from five yards out. Craig Ford would add another FG to finish the third with the score 41-14 ULM

The fourth quarter would see another explosion in points, however, this time, WKU decided to get in on the action as well. On the first play of the final quarter, Xavier Brown would haul in his second TD of the game. This one from 14 yards out as Evans now had 5 for the game 48-14 ULM. WKU would answer back on their very next drive as Drew Eckels hit Lucky Jackson in the endzone 48-21 ULM. The next Warhawks drive would stall on the Hilltoppers two yard line. The Warhawks, trying to get Evans his record setting day would turn the ball over after a failed fourth down pass. This wouldnt be so bad though. On the Hilltoppers first offensive play following the turnover, Eckels would get sacked in the endzone by CB Hubbard resulting in the saftey. 51-21 ULM

Afterward, ULM would score another TD on a pass from Evans to D'Marius Gillespie from 11 yards out. Eckels would throw his own fourth TD of the game with 54 seconds to go. 57-28 ULM.

Still seeking that school record, the Warhawks would run up the score even further as Evans connected with Marcus Green for his record setting seventh TD of the game as time expired. Final Score 64-28 ULM

Re: NCAA 14 Dynasty Coaching Career ULM

END OF REGULAR SEASON 2014

WARHAWKS TAKE SUNBELT CROWN AFTER ELEVEN WIN SEASON

The Warhawks won their last two games against Texas State and ULL, although the two games would play out much differently. The Texas State game would see the Warhawks barely miss their first shutout as they easily beat the Bobcats 27-7.

The second game was a home match up with rival Louisiana Lafayette. ULL would give ULM all they could handle and more as the game was in question as the final seconds ticked down. The Warhawks were forced to make a FG as time expired to get the win 36-34.

Now, after conference championships and final rankings, the Warhawks are ranked #15 in the nation. Surely that could lead to a prestigious bowl game right?....ehhh...not really

#15 ULM WARHAWKS 11-1

MARSHALL THUNDERING HERD 6-6

So, certainly, we are happy for the bowl bid and our guys will go out there and play their hearts out. But we know we can compete on a bigger stage. I guess it comes down to strength of schedule and conference strength. We may look into moving in the off season.
