I guess you could say we are feeling saucy because we upped our expectations for the season to say that we are going to be a winning team, finishing with at least nine wins this year. After going 8-7-1 last year, making the playoffs and winning the AFC East, I don't think it's too much of a stretch. We have a few cupcake teams - judging by their record from last year - that should help us reach that goal. If we win the games we are capable of winning, nine is definitely an obtainable number.

The Miami Dolphin draft class got a chance to show what they were made of. Some of these kids would shine in their first chance in a regular season game.

Early on Matthew Stafford was afforded great protection and a clean pocket to throw in. As the game wore on, that wouldn't last.

Two rookies - 6th round center Derek English and 3rd round guard Desmond Alexander - do a phenomenal job clearing a gaping hole for Kenyan Drake to burst through for an easy 55-yard TD run. Drake's day wouldn't last much longer as he left the game for good with an injury.

With the play breaking down, Ryan Tannehill tried to utilize his legs to get outside but Jarrad Davis hunted him down and dropped him for a 1-yard loss.

Rookie defensive end and 1st round draft pick D'Ambro Christian gets his [half] sack as he and Charles Harris collapse on Stafford simultaneously.

Legarrette Blount is as physical a runner as they come and on this run he tosses Raekwon McMillan off of him like a little child.

Although he didn't throw any interceptions, it wouldn't be Miami Dolphin football if Ryan Tannehill didn't find a way to turn it over. On this scramble, Tannehill decides to tip-toe the sideline rather than duck out of bounds after easily gaining a first down. He gets whacked from the side, coughs it up and the Lions snatch it before it lands out of bounds.

Looking for a defensive spark to cover tight ends and backs, Adam Gase inserts rookie safety Dickson Dixon in at nickel linebacker in place of Kiko Alonso. While he didn't record any tackles, he was great in coverage and even made this huge interception in the 4th quarter, leaving his zone over the middle to help shade toward the Lions' top receiver.

S2W2 - MIA Injuries & Trade

Although the season started out with a win, albeit a bit shaky at times, over the Detroit Lions, there were two serious losses on this roster for the next month or so.

The biggest free agent acquisition of the Dolphins, cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman, was expected to come in and solidify the corner position. After playing just two drives, he left the game holding his left arm and in serious pain. An MRI after the game revealed that he had fractured it and will be on the mend for the next three weeks before beginning rehab.

Robey-Coleman was slotted in as CB2 behind Xavien Howard with Cordrea Tankersley as the slot corner. C-Tank will now slide into that second outside corner position, a spot which he is probably better suited at, while Bobby McCain will fill the slot corner role.

Kenyan Drake also exited the game - but not before his 55-yard TD scamper - with an injury to his midsection. It was deemed a an abdominal tear, just adding to the litany of injuries this team has seen him suffer over just the last year (plus one game).

Miami has seen this song-and-dance before and did not want to fall back on a running back room of 2nd year man Kalen Ballage (414 yards last year on 2.9 yards per carry with 4 fumbles) along with rookie speedster Julius Cole (5 carries, 4 yards against DET). They wasted no time in picking up the phone and finding a running back that was in need of a new home.

The Houston Texans were shopping D'Onta Foreman, a 2nd year back out of Texas that has showed a nice blend of speed and power. Even with Kenyan Drake healthy, the Dolphins were hoping to add a back with more power that could thrive between the tackles and Foreman fits the bill.

The Houston Texans were looking for a RG in return for Foreman. With Isaac Asiata already behind rookie 3rd round pick Desmond Alexander, both teams were happy with making a rare player-for-player swap in a negotiation that would be described from both sides as "swift and effortless".

Looking at Foreman's ability, he should be secure with the football (a huge reason why Ballage couldn't be trusted as the lead back) and able to break a few tackles. More importantly, on short yardage even if he doesn't break tackles he should prove to fall forward rather than getting slammed backwards. Countless 3rd and 4th down conversions have been failed because of this, so Foreman will definitely help. Ballage and Cole will feature in the passing game as that's not Foreman's game at all. Only time will tell if Foreman will usurp Drake as the full-time starter in Miami or if their will be a time share for the foreseeable future.

Re: Don't Forget About Us - Miami Dolphins [M18]

Read the draft but forgot to check in. You got some GREAT picks. Christian is good for sure, but English and Dickson were serious late round steals! Bartrum could be a solid tight end in a few years too, not bad for a 7th rounder at all.

Good win, and good trade for Foreman. He should be a great addition to your backfield, even once Drake is healthy. That's a solid 1-2 punch between them, and should help Tannehill.

Xavien Howard has himself a souvenir as he intercepts an Aaron Rodgers pass. That's a ball that will most certainly end up on his mantle for a great memory as it's not often you are on the receiving end of a Hall of Famer's pass as a defensive back.

D'Onta Foreman showing why the Dolphins brought him in early in this game as he absolutely trucks through two defensive backs and falls forward for the touchdown. While the back's numbers weren't impressive - especially after losing rookie mauler Desmond Alexander in the 1st half for what looks to be two months - this touchdown showed his worth in the first quarter.

Aaron Rodgers has a new backfield mate in Tevin Coleman and they both seem to complement each other perfectly. Coleman finished the game with 100 yards on the ground while Rodgers added 45 of his own. This read-option, though not used very often, will definitely keep defenses honest.

Aaron Rodgers puts it where only his receiver can get it and Davante Adams shows off the vertical leap, elevates over the secondary and snatches the touchdown. This was his third grab of the first quarter and collected 40 yards, but would come down injured after getting hit in the back on this touchdown and not return to the game.

Want to find your way into the dog house, rookie? Julius Cole fumbles on the ensuing kickoff return and the Packers recovered.

Aaron Rodgers shows off his wheels, eludes a sack and fires to a wide open receiver on the sideline. The mobility of Rodgers gave Miami fits all game long.

Just like you don't intercept Rodgers very often, defenses don't typically sack him either. Jerome Baker and Co. celebrate his sack on the Packer signal caller.

DeVante Parker makes this tough grab look easy! After shaking the corner on an out route, Tannehill looked to have led him a bit too far but the physical freak hauled it in anyways.

[COLOR="#005E6A
"]On this one, DeVante Parker got loose after weaving through the secondary and broke into the open field. After getting caught from behind and dropped at the 2-yard line, the Dolphins suffered a tackle for a loss and then back-to-back sacks to have to settle for a field goal.[/color]

In a game of field position, every yard mattered. Add in the inclement weather and heavy gusts of wind, the kicking game was a mess. On 3rd down late in the 4th quarter, Rodgers dropped back looking to earn a first down or just gain some yardage for his kicker. Instead, Kiko Alonso gets to him for a huge sack, leading to a missed field goal that came up just short of the goal posts.

Thanks for checking in bro! I’m excited about English and Alexander playing immediately on our offensive line. I am pumping training into the offensive line and as Adam Gase I upgraded the OL XP strait last season so hopefully we can improve them rapidly.

Unfortunately Alexander suffered an injury in the Packer game. Not only did our run game turned to complete crap but he’s gone for the next 7 weeks. Regardless, Foreman is the thunder to Drake’s lightning and would make a nice duo when they are both healthy.

Dixon Dickson is awesome to play with! He had the INT in the first game and registered a sack off of a safety blitz in the second game. When we go nickel defense I’ve moved Reshad Jones into the box as he’s not great in coverage and allow Dickson to play safety. Regardless, he needs to see the field.

Christian has played well so far and he’s a monster of a man. Will be a rock solid pro for many years. Bartrum seems to be better than I thought as a blocking TE and has some decent wheels to go with it. I may elevate him to TE2 on the depth chart to make sure he’s always on the field in two TE sets.

Kelvin Benjamin uses his large, wide frame to box out defenders to give Josh Allen an easy target to throw to.

Allen's pass is tipped at the line and falls helplessly into the hands of Robert Quinn who was dropping into coverage off of the line.

D'Onta Foreman lowers the boom and destroys Jordan Poyer on a run late in the first quarter.

Minkah Fitzpatrick records a first half sack. The evolution of this kid has been fun to watch as he's showing much more willingness to get physical at the point of attack and lay the wood on ball carriers.

Charles Clay was just too big for Reshad Jones and Co. to take down as he runs through both defensive backs en route to a big gain.

Desperately needing to find the end zone and facing a 3rd and goal from the 12-yard line, the play broke down and Ryan Tannehill took off with his legs. With the end zone in sight, he took flight and broke the plane before taking the ensuing hit. This TD really rallied the offense.

D'Onta Foreman took a lick almost instantly after receiving the hand off and got dropped, resulting in an undisclosed injury that would force him to miss the rest of the game.

Rookie wideout Sherard Guenther got loose down the right sideline and out raced the entire secondary to give his team a seven point lead.

Not to be outdone, DeVante Parker got in on the action for the first time of the season to tie the game up at 20.

On Buffalo's first play from scrimmage after the Parker TD, LeSean McCoy ripped off a 72-yard run late in the game that looked like would be the game winner.

After a great return by Jakeem Grant and a huge pass interference on Prince Amukamara trying to cover DeVante Parker, the Dolphins were in the red zone in no time. On 2nd down, Julius Cole his first handoff of the game out of the shotgun and waltzed into the end zone untouched for his first career score, knotting the game up at 27 a piece.

Josh Allen fumbled on the first play of the next possession but the offensive line recovered it. On the next play, he took a sack. A fruitless run on 3rd down and Miami using their final timeout gave the Dolphins the ball back with very little time remaining. Punting into the wind, Jakeem Grant got the ball to Miami's own 40-yard line. On the first play, Mike Gesicki gained 41 yards after catching a pass down the seam and breaking a tackle. A quick spike by Tannehill set Sanders up for the game-winning attempt. The Bills tried to ice him, but the only ice was the water in his veins as he drilled it for the win!
