Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
Am i the only one who isn't impressed with this PS4 version.
I see these game trailers, and it looks like the same game engine to me.
How many years have they been running that game engine now?
Frame rates hover around 30 witch looks jittery and not smooth.
The gameplay looks the same too.
The players hair is all i have seen improved here.
Not looking Next Gen.
NBA 2K looked more Next Gen than this.
But they have competition with NBA live.
Notice the large PS3 in the bottom right of the video?Comment

I do, but that's because being visually impaired, I'm only good at sports and fighting games. I'm also good at Star Wars games, but there hasn't been a good Star Wars game since the force unleashed.1458, not counting playoffs, that's the number of games in a row I haven't missed! Go Yanks!Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
I've been wondering the same thing. Minor league stadiums have to be in the game because of RTTS. Maybe they just ported them over this year and will rebuild them for next year. Would love to get an answer though.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
I asked this a month ago and was told they were NOT ported over, so I'm taking that as a yes. They were built from scratch too.Last edited by ShowTyme15; 03-22-2014, 05:19 PM.Comment

Maybe they used different parts of the rebuilt MLB stadiums to create the minor league stadiums. Like (for example) the outfield walls of target field, the dugouts of Fenway, the surroundings of Wrigley etc. Just speculating here..."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
This might seem really specific, but I ran into this again last night and it reminded me how much it annoys me.
At Wrigley outfielders can rob home runs that are clearly in the basket. I wonder if on PS4 they might stop this from happeneing and remove the home run rob animation, or add collision to the basket. I guess this isn't limited to the PS4 though. Maybe on PS4 they added collision to the basket geometry so at least home runs won't clip through the basket and bounce off the wall.Last edited by MrOldboy; 03-22-2014, 11:19 PM.Comment

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)
This is actually interesting. Will future games contain the previous year(s) schedules or can you only continue a franchise that is in at least one year into the future? i.e. 2015 for MLB 14.
Basically can you continue a franchise that is at say August 14th 2014 in MLB 15 and begin at August 14th 2014?I did think about it. Its not just the schedules as in the games and times, but also presentational aspects.
It would be pretty awkward if the announcers describe a moment from 2014 in MLB 15 that hasn't occured yet in you're franchise since it's technically in the previous year.
Imagine an announcer going "Well, Chris Davis had a real down year in 2014, but he's hoping to rebound and get back to where he was when he led the lead in home runs in 2013." Meanwhile its April 5th 2014 in your franchise.
They'll probably account for stuff like this, but its not just as simple as insert schedule and go.Comment
