Ballboys/Ballgirls down the left and right field lines. Maybe have the umpire or a ballboy pick up those balls that just end up laying around the plate on fouls or blocked pitches.

Will these new systems have the computing power to create realistic uniforms? By that, I mean: uniforms that are made of sheets of varying fabrics which behave like real fabric behaves when it's draped over--or wrapped around--a body.

It's one of those things that will make a sports game look so much more real when they implement it. Just like sports games kicked it up a notch when they started really making strides in their lighting systems, I think it will make things look so much more real when stop focusing only on the textures and designs of uniforms and start dealing with the basic physics of clothing/fabric.

Or is that too much complex work, and we're still a couple of systems away from having enough power to pull of that kind of effect?

To add to this you could also have the first and third base coaches sometimes pick up those foul balls and flip it to the fans. You see this all the time in real life ball games. And lets not forget the Bat boys coming to home plate to get the bats when they are lying on the ground. 2K Baseball has had that already for a few years now in real time too. And how about umpires wearing jackets when it rains and games played in cold weather like post season games.

All these little things and more will make MLB The Show even more realistic then it already is

The same why I would really love for the editor to have 3 or 4 slots for facial hair and for the game to cycle through them at times. So you would see some players be clean shaven...then a few days later some stubble.....then maybe a fill beard for a bit...back to clean shaven etc.
(It would be very nice to be able to have the same and be able to edit facial hair for real players as well....but with the face scans and artists rendering of real player faces...this may not be possible or editable.)

Right. But there's never an instance when the hats aren't covered in sweat. This includes when it's raining.

I was thinking about your editor idea a few months back. I'd love to have 3 or so slots where I could assign different facial hair options that would randomize throughout the season.

While on the subject, is having REALLY old players noticably age or go grey a little too much to ask for or nit-picky (in my virtual world there's ALWAYS ample hair dye)? It's odd for an 18 year old prospect to look so young at the end if their careers.

This sort if thing didn't make my wish list or anything but it did cross my mind. Your post reminded me of it.

It's nice to be able to nit pick my all time favorite game. Think of the alternative. You could be stuck with just a 360.

I agree about the aging.....I asked Kolbe about that when he was still there and they just thought it was a bit too much to take on.
I really think that would add a LOT to franchise play. I know it's a bit silly for me to say ...as I'm always harping on game play over graphics(and little things)......but I have always been about immersion in the game(the ticker...wanting the game to track history and such....begging for in game breaks from other games going on in your league etc..)and more than a straight up graphic feature...I feel like it's more of an immersion factor(like the facial hair)

For sweat on caps....there is already sort of a system in place that they could implement it for....because if they started players w/o sweat....and added it in game according to weather factors....it would sort of be like when uni's get dirty if a player slides and field degradation as the game goes on....

In-game breaks did make my wishlist. That in itself would be revolutionary for this franchise and is on my overall top 5 list for improvements I'd like to see going forward.

As for the sweaty caps, it does seem to me like some sort of system like you mentioned is already in place for them to adjust the always sweat drenched hats with.

Personally, I don't really care if it's dynamic, but ideally, yes, having it change concurrently with real-time game situations would be great (and admittedly nit-picky on my part!).

I asked Ramone about the perma-sweat at CD...it was a rain game when I first caught wind of it always being there...and he said it was just too late in the process before the game went gold for them get to it (understandably).

Though I'm not going to lie, it does currently bug me. At least it's pretty much invisible in the Yanks' navy blues!

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)

Continuing on the call for more stats, I would love to see The Show implement something similar but better than EA's Connected Career website the they added last year in the Madden franchise. If you're not familiar with it, what it does is it allows you to access your franchise team through the web browser on your computer to look at stats, make various changes to your team. I just think a computer interface to look at stats using a keyboard and mouse would be so much better than using the controller to try to wade through the stats.

Another thing I've always hoped for is a way to export stats to excel for viewing offline. I'd love to see data that shows how my batters have faired against pitchers in the past (I know we can see that in RTTS which is great but I'd like to see that franchise as well).

My biggest gripe with stats though is that while they have improved on how many stats are available, they just aren't presented in a way that makes it easy to look at what you want to see. Maybe even a drop down menu that comes up showing all of the various stat choices so you can choose the one you want rather than scrolling through and searching for it. Also with the large font size on the PS3 you can't really see a large group of players stats at the same time.

My perfect situation would be that i could be playing a game and if I want to look at players statistics either for the season, or their careers I could just glance over at my PC and not have to pause and sort through stats. Even better would be if I could look at current game stats on my PC while playing the game.

I'm sure a system like that would take a huge effort to develop but it sure would be cool!

I don't know if they took Trade Overview out in '13, but if not, it has to go. More than anything I think it's the leading cause of bad trades.

I would also like to see "real time" clock added for Exhibition games.

So like for example if I start a Exhibition game in Philadelphia and the local time there is 2:30 PM the daylight in the game would match the real time clock and it should change as the game goes on to match the real time clock. Drive Club will have this feature I think. They could also add real time weather too. So if I started a Exhibition game in Philadelphia and it was raining in real life it would also be raining in MLB The Show.

My fantasy would be for them to set up a deal with a stats website (like a baseball-reference.com kind of thing) so that you have access to all those kind of stats from the past, and then your franchise generates new stats for the "website" as you progress into the future.

Not sure what kind of money it would cost for each gamer to have their own archived stats website like that. I'd imagine it would cost above and beyond the price of the game itself. I'd pay an extra 20 bucks for that luxury to be able to have a Baseball Reference website blending real-life stats and my franchise stats.

This is a bad example. Just smoothing a model is equivalent to using Photoshop filters to create effects; it lacks any kind of artistry. I think you will be in for a major surprise when you see what 3D artists are capable of this generation.
