things that need to be implemented into MLB games.

giving the batter full control

1. the ability to step back from the plate or avoid getting hit by a pitch. there are tons of games where a pitcher will fire the ball inside intentionally or by accident, and every time this happens its the cpu/animation that takes control of the batter. why not give the user total control. give the user the option to move back with a push of the r2 button or the l2 button. r2 for right handed batters and l2 for the left handed batters. in addition, Id tie this into the injury slider set, just to neutralize the potential abuse factor.


2. giving the user control to run to first base after hitting the ball. running to first base shouldnt be automatic. we should be given an option to use the advance base button to go to first base after we hit the ball. we are given the option to advance to every other base, running to first shouldnt be a given. Truth be told, alot of us would need some discipline if this feature were to be added into a game. think about it, how many times have we just sat there and admired a hit, knowing that the batter would automatically run to first. How many of us would be thrown out at first because of this.

3. this is for analog controls. give us reverse controls for lefty and righty batters and pitchers.


4. fielding, especially with pop ups. its time to do away with the automatic catches. running under a pop fly to catch has become stale and dated. Catching a pop up should also include a second step. there should be a catch/timing window. Make it adjustable/customizable like it is for all the other fielding functions.
So its basically running to position and then maybe pressing a button to catch. this would basically be a timing function dictated by a timing window and players fielder rating, but would take out the staleness routine catching.

5. new pci ball marker indicator. that orange thing is ugly. give us a regular baseball.

6. steal attempt- give us control of the baserunner running back to the base when a pitcher attempts to pick off a base stealer.

7. the ball landing indicator in the outfield should be adjustable.

8. we should have an option to turn off all meters for various pitching preferences. Id like to have the option to turn off the analog pitching meter etc.

9. adjust fatigue based on innings played. If I choose to play only 6 inning games, the fatigue of players and pitchers should be automatically adjusted to reflect this.

10. dynamic weather. this is taken out of the EA playbook. use the weather channel feature to better represent real time game day weather. I should be able to use the user teams location or the user location for weather

all of these added features can, and will have an effect on era's, batting averages, errors, injuries. I was just thinking of ways that they can make a game challenging and more organic in nature, without being dictated by how much one adjusts a particular slider.

Now that it's been confirmed the DS4 won't have analog face buttons I'm hoping there will be a way to use timing batting with the analog sticks without having to guess location with the PCI. That's just too complicated for me and I like leaving an element of hitting up to the talent of the player. Without those analog face buttons I won't be able to check swing anymore and I'll probably never draw a walk again.

Edit: Oh, there's another thread where someone brought this up, someone else tested it on a DS4, and it's not an issue whatsoever. Crisis averted, carry on.

Watching this year's World Series makes me wonder about one all important thing about the PS4 version of The Show:

Will it have next gen beard technology?

As a huge Red Sox fan, I cannot play with them unless their beards are correct. It has became part of the Red Sox organization! Even the barly any hair bucholz beard lol

Maybe they can take a page from Grand Theft Auto 5's playbook and have hair grow over the course of your season

Lol I would just rather have it how it is now since I'm so used to seeing them that way. Beards look silly on current gen and nowhere near how they truly look so I am excited to see the sox on next gen. I really think this is the team to have these kind of details.

Why is PS4 not able to play a STANDARD sound format? WTF

So tired of these companies trying to bind you to their own services. If I want streaming music, I'll stream it, but why do I have to lose just playing a freaking CD or MP3?

Man I wish computer gaming would make a comeback...sigh.

A few things that I would like:

The ability to start a franchise right after the previous year so you're like a new hire GM for the team and can have your own effect on the off season.

Yes!!!!

I hate having to play an entire season before I can actually do "GM stuff"
I don't know why baseball video games became attached to making you start on March 1st of the given year. Taking it over in November of the previous year would be a billion times better, and starting on January 1st would make a lot more sense.

As said before,while your in the middle of a franchise/season game,show us some actual highlights from other games that day,not just scores on bottom of screen. Maybe a pre and post game show with highlights of your previous game as well. A week from the playoffs,show us actual highlights during gameplay of other important playoff races/games in progress that day that effects your team....and don't just show 1 highlight...several would be cool !!

Will PS4 allow me to suspend and resume my progress across different games?

This feature will not be available at launch.

Wait, I thought that PS4 FAQ said you will be able to turn your PS4 off and then resume exactly where you left off at any time?
