Not at launch but probably in a future system update.
I mean you can't even play Blu-Rays if you don't install the day one system update. I think they wanted to release the PS4 so bad that they just shipped them off with the most barebone os knowing they would have it ready (enough) at official launch.

Re: PS4 Discussion (MLB The Show 14)

Just wondering if I'm the only that has accellerated on into my progress with franchise mode in the current gen immediately after that PS4 faq announcement yesterday. Even though the system is still most likely worth the money just for the game, I can't commit to either of them when SoTS is removed. Which might sound petty, but not as petty as them removing simply putting .mp3 in your system, no matter what the purpose is.

There is hope though, Shuhei Yoshida says he appreciates our feedback and did meet with development and discuss people liking the PS3's current media features and apparently they see how much our dislike of their decisions may actually costs them. Which is the only thing that companies make decisions based on, no matter what we "like" or think is wrong or right..

Are walk up songs and organ music really that much more important to u guys than (likely greatly) improved graphics, improved audio and depth? Yea it sucks, but..... Something that is so minor in the grand scheme of things

Its part of the immersion. It's also something that's being taken away which rubs people the wrong way.

that seriously blows, but maybe they'll add it in the 4 months after the PS4 drops?

that was one of the best features for me the PS4 had to offer. Came to love it when playing on the VITA. I don't see myself finishing a 162 game season that way...

Can't believe playstation trolled us about the mp3 music but at least they know now its unnacceptable. And @illmatic23 yes, the problem with it being left out is too detailed to explain but it's ultimately common sense. And without the feature the games franchise mode would become significantly stale to me. I already don't like recent editions of the show that has cut down on the presentation of the batter walkups, not because of my childish desire to hear the music longer or something but much moreso for the flow of the game. After a play occurs, the next at bat doesn't just startup 5 seconds later. I take a moment to focus who's next up at the plate, view what his stat line is and isn't size him up and then get ready for the next ab. It's all apart of it, especially in season modes. I've gotten off track a bit but with SoTS stripped the game would become incredibly stale to many players, not all. It's removal is just common sense, a huge and unnecessary regression for the game and many others. Like NHL where we have authentic intros downloadable from packs on this site, and in-game break music and all sorts of other things. FIFA, many players import lengthy authentic team spec crowds for amazing impact on the ambiance of the game. Removing our ability to use the mp3 is about asinine as it gets.

                Overreact much?
I could have swore it was the CP position being in the game that was as asinine as it gets.

                  lol

It was until we were introduced to the notion that a company would take mp3 off their new product creating such a widescale, unnecessary incovenience. I never thought I would seriously hear anything like that.

Now the closing pitcher designated as a position, (ie drafting 17 year old Closing Pitchers) for franchise mode continues to be asinine but not most asinine.

One thing I hope makes it into this next version of the show or at least in the near future, I'd love an app to access my franchise mode on mobile devices. A thrill of being at practices, or work / school parks, dates, lines during christmas shopping and accessing your franchise in The Show. Checking stats, tweaking lineups, viewing any and every thing, scouring minor league box scores and stats. Amazing.

Many players? I doubt that. I'd say the percentage of people that use sounds of the show at all is relatively small. Remember that we here on OS are in the minority. And for me, I'm a Cubs fan, so players don't have walk-up songs. Also, I don't think I could tell you two players' actual walk-up songs in real life, so sounds of the show really don't matter much at all to me.

For me, Sounds of the Show is essential to the game because it adds a more realism experiences in every stadium that uses specific music/sounds. I mean who doesn't want to hear Mariano Rivera's "Sandman" entrance or "Dirty Water" after every Redsox win. These are what makes the Show more authentic to each teams home games.

Also, look at how many people (including myself) have contributed to the SOTS thread here at OS. See how many people have thanked the people who took the time to make downloadable files of updated sounds.

I guess hearing Go Cubs Go doesn't really matter to me because it only happens about 20 times per year.

Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida thanks fans for feedback, says he will share with dev team for "future consideration."

                                Here's one....

Anyone remember when we could change the grass patterns? Like checkered, star, circle, certain line designs etc etc? I loved that. I loved being in control of how the stadium looked.

I'd love for that to be in '14. Would anyone else like to see this feature make a return?
