Spreadsheet says Josh Donaldson isn't unrealistic. What do you think Oakland would want from Toronto for him?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
With that being said, I could see them looking at Nolin, Sanchez and Gose. Nolin would be able to contribute within a year and I guess Sanchez is 2 years away? Gose would function as a replacement for Crisp in CF next year.
However, the A's would have to be out of it to consider dealing Donaldson.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

The Pirates added a left handed bat to their line up as they push for the playoffs. ( 5 games out of first place - 1 1/2 behind in wild card)Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I wasn't bothered by this trade to be honest. The Twins are 12 games out of first and received two top prospects for the future.

No that's not what I meant. It's fair on paper. I was thinking more from a realistic standpoint with Mauer being Minny bound for lifeFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm completely new to this so had a question. I was looking at the spreadsheet and wasn't 100% sure on what it means when it says "Player A is worth a Low A and a Mid B", I assume that means both and not one or the other correct? Secondly, just going off my best guess, I presume a Low A = someone rated in the lower 90's and a Mid B = someone rated around 85? My example is Ben Zobrist, seems like a large haul for a 32 year old 2B, I know his rating is solid but just seems like quite a bit for an aging guy who is probably 1 good year away from starting the decline if he isnt already going down that road now. Just wanting to make sure I understand the info within the spreadsheet entirely before using it to try and work a trade. Just to add some context, I hate trading in the early stages of the season but playing as the Dodgers and I've got Carl Crawford and Yasiel Puig both out 1-2 months forcing me to play Van Slyke and had to call up Pederson just to cover the OF (I'm only 21 games into my season, talk about terrible luck) so considering trying to make a big move to bring in a bat that can not only cover the OF while their injured but then play anywhere I need him (ie. 3B for Uribe, 2B for Gordon). Curious on thoughts?Comment

Welcome Chef! Great to have you
In regards to the player values, check out the 2nd tab/sheet of the file. There's a breakdown on how to read the values.
First name that came to mind for your OF/IF bat search was Chris Heisey. Strictly an OF'er but he's got 20-25 HR pop with a full time gig. Utility guys that can play both OF/IF are Steve Lombardozzi (BAL) and Leury Garcia (CWS)
Edit: Charlie Culberson of the Rockies should be able to play your required positions as well. Don't know if he has them all listed in the game thoughLast edited by Totte; 05-15-2014, 11:11 AM.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Add Flaherty from the Orioles to that list. I smoke the ball with him.
Just curious is your OF currently Pederson-Kemp- Either/Van Slyke?Comment

As for the "mid B/High C" stuff, I always thought that referred to Potential ratings, but I could be off on that.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I came across an oddity in my franchise. I'm using the Marlins and looking for a 3B. Houston was willing to trade Matt Dominguez for Ed Lucas. They were also willing to trade Dominguez for almost any prospect regardless of their ratings.≡Comment

BTW I just traded Justin Maxwell to the Red Sox for Ryan Roberts. Gives me more position flexibility in days off after sending Valencia to AAA and calling up Pedro Ciriaco.Last edited by BA2929; 05-15-2014, 12:09 PM."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Playing my cubs franchise....Would it be realistic or fair to send Samardzija to Baltimore in a trade centered around Dylan Bundy. Playing out the Bundy TJ comeback like real life as he didn't make his first starts until early July in my game. Its late July in my first year and Baltimore is 1.5 games behind Boston with no one else within 6 games. Any ideas on how to pull this off or should I just look elsewhere?Comment
