Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The Rays just offered the Royals this trade:
Rays (20-24) Get:
Raul Mondesi (SS, A-Ball) 60 OVR, A POT
Kyle Zimmer (SP, AAA) 75 POT, A POT
Sean Manaea (SP, A-Ball) 66 OVR, B POT
Royals (25-17) Get:
Ben Zobrist (2B - 1 Year Remaining, $11.1 M) 89 OVR, B POT (.272, 5 HR, 23 RBI)
The Royals are friggin' killing it offensively, leading the league in Team Average. They also are missing Omar Infante (fractured forearm, two more weeks on the DL).
Meanwhile, Alex Cobb and Jeremy Hellickson are both still out with pre-season injuries. I don't know that the Rays should be blowing anything up yet - they're four games under .500, yes, but they've also scored 20 more runs than they've given up. I think they've just had some bad luck and some big blow out losses.
Both teams have roughly $10 M in money to spend on players.
I feel a little like the Royals would be gutting their farm to make this move, especially since the Rays are actively shopping around Zobrist (he's on the Trade Block). On the other hand, KC is 1st in the AL Central, and maybe would want to keep that offensive machine humming?
Any advice? Let it fly?
The Royals are overpaying in my opinion, I wouldn't trade all that for Zobrist & I love him as a player as much as anyone lol

Even though Infante's hurt, he's their long term solution at second base. It doesn't make much sense to try and replace them.
I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Zobrist would fit in at SS, 2B and OF for the Royals though. Zimmer or Mondesi + Manaea is fine, but not both. Or maybe Starling or something."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey I'm doing a franchise with the Cubs and was thinking of pulling these 2 trades and any advice would be good. Any status needed I can provide.
Cubs get: LF Dominic Brown
Phillies get: 1B Dan Vogelbach/SP Kyle Hendricks and RF Jorge Soler
Cubs get: SP Aaron Sanchez, SP Alberto Tirado, CF DJ Davis
Toronto get: SP Jeff Samardzija and 2B Darwin Barney
Seen the Blue Jays one early in the thread

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Spreadsheet has 2 High B's and a Low B for Cashner.
Obviously not the most realistic trade in the world, but my Padres Franchise is getting a bit stale, and I want to inject a little life into it by possible dealing Cash to the Red Sox.
Here's who I'd like to be included for sure:
- Deven Marrero, SS
- WMB, 3B (3B depth - SS on him seems a bit high. Maybe Low B or High C?)
Also interested in these pitchers:
- Ranaudo, SP
- Barnes, SP
- B. Johnson, SP
- De La Rosa, SP
Obviously I'd love to snag Ranaudo or Barnes, but are they too unlikely, even for someone like Cashner? I'd take Johnson or De La Rosa as a fall back option, and can always add whatever pieces I need to get the trade done.
Thanks in advance!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Reimold is a nice gamble for you and he could slot in at 1B/LF/DH for you. Offers some versatility.
I'd definitely aim for another piece coming back, preferably a young arm. Would be great if you could get Eduardo RodriguezFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

We're higher on Barnes and DLR than Ranaudo and Johnson. Would you be satisfied with a package around Middlebrooks, Ranaudo and Johnson?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
My ideal return would be: WMB + Marrero + Ranaudo.
What do you think about this? Cashner is pitching lights out, and he's headed for the 2014 ASG.
I might consider substituting Ranaudo, but it would require Johnson, plus another piece, and that's not something I really want to do. More of a Plan B, and I am not sure I would even do that.Last edited by Coper3000; 06-13-2014, 08:56 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Small trade I'd like to do with my Pirates. I'm still a little "salty" if you will about the Pirates trading away Brock Holt in the Hanrahan deal. I was wondering what it would take from the Pirates to get him back? Bear in mind this is during Spring Training. I'd like another utility player to shore up the left side of my infield and second. I'd prefer to move a positional player more than a pitcher in this move.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Not really a trade proposal question itself but am curious for those that do 30 team control do you guys make any trades for CPU teams around the deadline that make sense? I ask because I'm sitting on the trade deadline date and the biggest issue I see currently resides in Boston as they are starting, of all people, Shane Victorino at SS. Boston leads the division but refuses to call anyone up at SS and Bogaerts isn't an option at the moment. So in cases like this would you go grab them a SS from a team rebuilding? My first thought was to snag Jimmy Rollins from Philly but he's injured so that's not possible. Boston did try and trade for Jew Lowrie in Oakland but the deal made no sense in it's current form as the prospect they have in Oakland isn't ready and Oakland has the best record in baseball so they wouldn't be shipping out a guy like Lowrie for prospects right in the midst of a playoff run or would they? Just curious how you guys handle things like this and if you're proactive in making deals for the CPU at the deadline that make sense or if you merely play "commissioner" and veto the bad trades and leaving the rest alone.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
What would I have to do to make a Middlebrooks for Ozuna deal work? I think I'd have to add a little bit more?
Also the Reds are still trying to send me Cueto and Broxton.. this time for Ross and Capuano. Not even close, but they are 12 games back so it looks like they're selling.. I am curious what I might be able to move to make something work for them. Not sure if I'd actually do it. Broxton would be my setup man, and I could slot Cueto into the rotation somewhere.Last edited by Matty86; 06-13-2014, 10:45 AM.PSN: LobsterKillahComment
