I don't have nearly the emotional capacity to live and die with every pitch. I put my Jays far and away ahead of the pack, and that will never change, but I just appreciate good baseball being played.

Ha! I had just traded Hammel Alcantara and Strop for Russell and a throw in earlier today!

also I was offered Jordan Schafer and Josh Elander (B pot LF) for Bonifacio, trying to decide if thats fair. (ive been trying to move Bonifacio)

        Even the Yankees...

I actually haven't started the franchise yet, so I can't provide stats or anything.

I was just thinking of young guys that I could target to play catcher. Castillo isn't going anywhere, I just would like someone a little better than John Baker to back him up. Brantly is young, cheap, and under control. If anything, he's serviceable once a week and some decent depth.

        Nobody likes the Yankees lol

          Triple win? Sure.

E: ^ if Alcantara is the PTBNL, wow. He's pretty okay.

Quadruple win. My Orioles could sure use Shark but supposedly they were asking for Bundy AND Gausman... I couldn't handle that. I was pissed with the Feldman deal last year...

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Okay so several people commented that dealing for Fowler wasn't realistic, but what about the guy who replaced him in CF in Colorado (Drew Stubbs)?

The Rockies have a ton of young OF's in Parker,Barnes, Blackmon, Dickerson, Dahl and Wheeler and Stubbs is in the last year of his contract.

In my Franchise Stubbs is currently hitting .260 with 4 HR's, 22 RBI's and 15 SB's in 177 AB's splitting time with Blackmon who is hitting just .206 but has 7 HR's and 28 RBI in 281 AB's.

            Spreadsheet says High C.

I was thinking about either Ji-Man Choi (68/C) who is hitting .253 with 9 HR's in AAA as a potential down the road replacement for Morneau, or maybe Jesus Montero (72/B) who hit .289 with 1 HR and 6 RBI in 38 AB's in Seattle and is hitting .260 with 4 HR's at AAA.

It's currently July 2 on my Franchise and the Rockies are still in the hunt at (46-41) 6 games back in the West but only 1.5 games back in the WC, which leads me to think he wouldn't really be dealt, but thought I would get other opinions

McKinney should not be an A POT. Russell most definitely is.

I can't find McKinney. Is he on the OSFM roster? I don't see him on the spreadsheet.

Also, I guess this trade busts my idea for dealing Samardzija to Boston for Swihart and Mookie Betts.

I wouldn't trade Russell straight up for Swihart and Betts much less McKinney, Straily and Alcantara included.

McKinney was in Free Agency in OSFM v1. I signed him to the A's early on in the first season.

At least in real life, Epstein said that the acquisition of Russell has no effect on Castro.

Probably would not be dealt as the starting CF on a playoff contender. Are you sure both Stubbs and Blackmon are sharing time? It looks at though they might both be starting at different positions from the AB numbers.

If you do the deal, I think Jesus Montero makes some sense because he could move to 1B and possibly benefit from the thin air in Colorado to restart his career.

Ok, today a article came out about how unhappy Tulo and CarGo are in Colorado not winning. And that team is far from being a contender. They talked about the team possibly considering trading them to begin the rebuild and that Tulo would be open too it. So realistically what would the Rockies need from LAD to make that happen. Obviouslly know that it would take a lot, but after reading that I think it is realistic.

Was looking to get some feedback on some of the trades from around my franchise. I left a couple days before the deadline to edit trades if they are unbalanced.

                                Giants get: Alexei Ramirez
Sox get: SP Mike Kickham, SP Edwin Escobar, CF Gary Brown

                                Brewers get: SP John Danks
Sox get: LF Mitch Haniger, SP Jimmy Nelson

                                Giants get: SP Mike Pelfrey
Twins get: C Hector Sanchez, SP Kendry Flores

Rockies get: SP Mike Leake (2.11 ERA)
Reds get: 3B Ryan McMahon, SS Rosell Herrera

D-Backs get: SS JJ Hardy, CF Michael Burgess
Orioles get: SP Jose Martinez, LF Stryker Trahan

                                Pirates get: Mike Napoli
Red Sox get: SP Nick Kingham, RF Josh Bell

Rangers get: SP Edwin Jackson (3.23 ERA), SP Carlos Pimentel, LF Junior Lake
Cubs Get: RF Chris Grayson, SP Nick Martinez, CF Lewis Brinson

                                Jays get: SP Cliff Lee
Phillies get: SP Roberto Osuna, 1b Juan Francisco, SS Dawel Lugo

This next one was hard for me to balance. STL isnt really out of the race but Taveras and Grichuk are already putting up very good numbers in the majors and Craig is hitting .298, so theres just no more need for Holiday. In KC, Moose is struggling again barely hitting .200 and I think Gordon will go to play 3b with the acquisition of Holliday.

Royals get: Matt Holliday, 3b Daniel Descalso, 1b Johnathon Rodriguez
Cardinals get: 2b Christian Colon, SP Sean Manaea, SP Miguel Almonte, RP Louis Coleman, RP Angel Baez

P.S. The last deal I made was to mirror the Samardzija deal cuz I play on the Cubs and hes having a great year in my chise as well. I remember a couple months ago there was a guy in this thread saying Samardzija could NEVER command a top 50 spec and probably not even a top 100. Hes probably screaming wherever he is now that they got a top 15 for him lol.

Anyways I appreciate any feedback have a great 4th of july weekend everyone.
