Maybe WTNY will chime in as he is more in tune with the Cubs than I, Im more focused on the White Sox.

Ranking them from best to least, I would say:

    1) Reyes to Det deal (with LAA as other team)
    2) Reyes to Det deal (with Boston/ I think Betts might be a little too much)
    3) Reyes to Bos (Pit as other team)
    4) Reyes to NYY
    5) Reyes to Cin (Historically this doesn't fit what the Reds do)
Haha. Funny you say that, because I was actually thinking of a Cubs-Reds-Jays love triangle.

For what it's worth, I agree that (aside from the original Reds deal that AC edited) the Angels deal is best. I think the Boston deal (with DET involved) is as close to rape as you'll ever get in trade talks. Easily my least favorite.

Side note. Congrats on Sale. I voted several times for both Rizzo and Sale. I'm still a bit shocked that the Sox teamed up with Washington and the Cubs teamed up with Detroit for the Final Vote.

    Reyes to DET
    Castellanos to ARZ
    Shipley, Lamb to TOR

Also drew up something with SD.

    Reyes to DET
    Castellanos, Thompson to SD
    Grandal, Renfroe, Peterson
    1a. Cincy deal
    1b. DET/LAA deal

Not a big fan of the other ones. I don't see SD or ARZ whipping out spects to get this done.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm just under two weeks away from the trade deadline and I'd like to help some of the CPU teams make some legitimate trades. Here are the teams that are definitive sellers in my franchise and have no shot of making the playoffs.

      Rockies
      Marlins
      Orioles
      Royals
      Astros
      Rangers
      Mets
      White Sox

      The potential buyers include

      Dodgers
      Reds
      Cardinals
      Athletics
      Mariners
      Twins
      Rays
      Red Sox
      Blue Jays

The one player I'd like to move it Carlso Gonzalez. I don't know if this is the same for every franchise but in mine he still has four years left on his contract. I was thinking Boston would be a good spot for him. What do you think the Rockies would need in return to make this realistic?

St. Louis is another possible place for Gonzalez to land. I'm just not sure what would make up a realistic trade there.

Jays can def live with Lamb, love the guy and he'd move Lawrie to 2nd (or maybe short.. hehe). Owings isn't really necessary, I have Chris Taylor already. Thanks for the advice. Gotta say I like this deal.

On second glance, I think the TOR/ARZ/DET deal is pretty ok, too. Forgot that Matt Davidson was dealt to Chicago so Castellanos fills a need for them and they already have a bunch of young arms in varying stages of health (Corbin, Miley, Bradley, Delgado..etc) so they might deal from this depth. Maybe toss a minor piece from Detroit to Arizona as the Tigers seem to be making out a bit here. Either that or I am just not that high on Castellanos.

Another team in need of some help is the Dodgers.

As I stated in a previous post, Clayton Kershaw is out for the year with an injury but the Dodgers are running away with the division anyway. I had originally planned for them to go after either Hamels or Lee in Philadelphia, but a recent surge by the Phillies has them possibly in contention. The next week and a half will probably determine where the Phillies are.

Looking elsewhere, I noticed that James Shields in Kansas City is in the last year of his deal. He would seemingly be a good fit for the Dodgers. So what about this one?

            Dodgers get James Shields

Royals get Chris Anderson or Zach Lee

Im not sure what a bigger travesty is, Sale being in that ridiculous vote in to begin with or Josh Harrison being on the all-star team.(Honorable mention to Garrett Richards not making it, he is filthy) Meh, no skin off my back, I don't even watch any of the festivities other than the Futures game. I won't watch the ASG and I certainly won't watch the HR Derby, Chris Berman is a buffoon and quite frankly has no business on television, I refuse to watch anything he is a part of.

Congrats on Rizzo, I ate a lot of crow from my Cub fan friends, he has hit LH pitching very well this year. Prior to the season I said he would continue to struggle hitting LH pitching. If he can keep trending up and Bryant is anywhere close to what he projects that is one hell of a 3/4 combo in the lineup.

It is a travesty that Richards didn't make it, but Harrison's been awesome so far. I approve.

They are definitely going for it. They've dropped four in a row but are still in first in the NL West by 5 games. I'll trade Anderson for Shields.

WAAAAAAAAAAIT A SEC it's gonna take a lot more than that for Shields

I'm not an expert on their farm system but maybe both of those guys and a third piece? if he's in the Cy Young race though it's gonna take someone good

How is Shields doing? If he's doing ok, the Royals will need a bit more. Probably another mid-high B.

It's a bit of a poor comparison because Shields had more team control back then, but the last time he was dealt, the Rays picked up Wil Myers (a top 5 spect at the time), Jake Odorizzi (a top 100 spect), Mike Montgomery (a top 250 spect at the time), and Patrick Leonard (a sneaky upside play who has a .875 OPS in A+ right now) for Shields and Wade Davis (who's become a RP).

Zach Lee or Chase Anderson alone doesn't really get in the ballpark of that.

I'll have to look at how he's doing in just a second. I'm in the middle of a game.

I have no emotional ties to this trade unlike my efforts to trade for a catcher. So I'm open for whatever on this one. I just want it to be realistic. The Dodgers have to have a big arm to replace Kershaw for their playoff push (I probably would have traded for one even without the injury).
