Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Okay big post.. Figured it would be easier to just post all the players on teams that are clear sellers and post some teams who are clear buyers looking for said positions.

Any thoughts on trade ideas would be appreciated. I would like to start playing games again on Tues in my Franchise (dayoff), but I am only 4 days away from the deadline

    Teams in Need
Every contender could also use help in the pen. For list of teams go off above teams looking for other needs.

As far as other players on the Marlins, Pirates, Cubs, Twins, White Sox, Yankees, DiamondBacks, Astros you could see also being moved feel free to include them in trade ideas, I didn't post them probably because of bad stats.

As you can see the Mets and Brewers have a few players on the block as well because they are close to being out of it.

The Angles, Orioles, Rays are also in the mix as buyers for said players above if you think any might be good fits, as they are all 3 3.0 GB in the AL WC.

The Rockies are currently 1.5 GB of the Padres and Dodgers in the NL West and same in the NL WC, so add the to the buyer group, but honestly their starting lineup and rotation is looking really good. Could use some bench help and obviously a BP guy.

The Giants and Nat's are also still somewhat in the hunt for a AL WC as they are 4.0 GB in the NL WC but with 4 teams ahead of them I didn't really look at to many holes for them to fill

Giants I guess could use 2B and OF

Nat's are like Colorado. Bench help mainly.

Again thanks to anyone who takes time to make suggestions.

I know for a fact the Jays would be strongly interested in Martin with minor interest in Montero.

I think Erlin + a few tomato cans is plenty.

Alvarez is an upgrade over Uribe, barely, both swing out their shoes on seemingly every pitch. I think Lee is a little too much maybe Andersen+Stripling.

Currently with my Reds franchise I am sitting first place in the NL Central with a record of 47-23. However, I would like to find a reliable option at shortstop, because Zack Cozart is not cutting it. I wish I could try and get Tulo but I don't think I have the flexibility to do so. Also, I am willing to listen to offers on Cueto who has a 9-1 record with a 1.44 ERA, because he has a projected salary of 25.25mill when he hits the free agent market and I am not sure I can afford him. Any suggestions?

Suzuki to LAD has to get done, good call. I will debate the Hill/Beckham placement, Hill has to go back to the Jays? Plus he is a better AL fit.

Traded Rafeal Soriano for Rodney. Whats a realistic return for Ryan Zimmermann? Id move Rendon to 3rd play Espinosa. Also crazy but I cant hit with Bryce. Hard to get a feel for what hes worth since its more potential than production

Kurt Suzuki to the Dodgers eh? Have to remember that for my Twins chise.

fwiw, I did Willingham for SEA for Marlette + Maurer (can't beat Mauer and Maurer combo, lol)

Still not warming up to Plouffe to the Yankees though...any other ideas on where I can send Plouffe other than the Dodgers/Yankees? PHI, CIN, OAK (move Plouffe to 2B or OF), BOS (move Plouffe to LF), TOR (move Lawrie to 2B permanently) are some possible fits. Does anyone agree with me that LAD makes sense for Plouffe? A couple of guys have come down on the other side of that...just trying to see if there's a consensus against LA or not.

You can get anyone not named Trout if you deal Bryce. Just my opinion, but I'd almost be tempted to change hitting mechanics before punting on Bryce Harper though.

Check out the spreadsheet for Zim. Also, how's he doing? Who's contending? Where in the season are you? What do you want back? You mentioned realism, so you're gonna have to supply more info for a good answer.

Im only 11 games in but ive played Franchise in the past and struggle hitting with him. Im thinking deal him to AL where he can DH as well. A right handed cf to start vs lefties would be nice. So Bryce straight up for Stanton you think is fair?

Tell me what you think. All trades were trying for both fairness and realism.

not really help but I don't think the O's move Wieters or Davis, even if they're out of it. Same with SF & Cain. I just don't see those guys moving realistically.
