Still Kemp realistically. The Dodgers seem high on their big 3 prospects (Seager, Pederson, and Urias) seeing they were not willing to trade any of them for David Price at the deadline. I could see Puig getting traded soon but not this offseason because of the bone headed sh@t he does, but I think Mattingly will put up with because of his ability. So all in all Kemp.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Funny, a couple days after we discussed Profar, Joel Sherman said the Pads offered 1 of Ross/Cashner/Kennedy for him and TEX wanted more! So yeah, Quintana might be unrealistic but some commenters agreed with me it was dumb of them to say no.
Anyways, word is Josh Johnson had his 4MM option turned down by the Pads but he is a loyal guy who'll probably go back to them cheaper an build his value again in that park. What are the odds that I could pry him my way (ChiSox)? I didn't get LaRoche/Robertson/Duke so I still have $ to spend.
What does it take to get Latos? Anderson+Hawkins+? Not sure where to start on this one.
Also, where does Scherzer go? Who has the money? Detroit? Texas? Almost done with my offseason...Last edited by rjackson; 12-09-2014, 08:05 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I can't think of any because I am factoring in realism and the Padres don't want a young prospect coming to mash them in the future. But I am hearing that the deal would be built around Grandal. This is obviously for Kemp. And to be honest he is the most likely to go because he has the most value besides Puig and Pederson.
Kemp for Grandal and Eflin/Ross is fair and realistic.Comment

Starting a Rays 'chise, and was wondering what a realistic scenario/partner would be for Ben Zobrist. Do you think Cincy would have interest in him involving a deal with Mesoraco and/or Winker?
ThanksComment

Nationals could be a good fit for Zobrist. Zimmerman to 1st and Rendon to 3rd.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Tried doing a search and couldn't find anything.
I'm sure this has been asked numerous times, but is there a reason we can't trade arb eligible players before they agree to any deals, whereas the CPU can?
Is there a work around this as well?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
If your using 30 team control, and want to trade Player A (who's Arb. eligible, with no contract) from Team A, to team B, you go to team B's team screen, and select the Player Search option. You then search up player A's first and/or Last name. When you get to player A, select him, and press "Make Trade". Then you can trade player A to Team B, so long as the party(ies) you're trading to team A in exchange for Player A, has a contract.
For example, say I want to do Shelby Miller straight up for Jason Heyward. Heyward has a contract with the Braves already, but Miller doesn't. So I go to the Braves' team screen, select "Player Search", and in the "First Name" search box, I type in "Shelby", and in the "Last Name" search box, I type in "Miller". When I find his name (should be only one, as I believe he's the only Shelby Miller in MLB The Show), I click on it, and go to "Make Trade". Shelby Miller will be in the Cardinals box for players being traded away. Then select Jason Heyward from the Braves side, and finalize it.
This only works for 1 player, in the whole deal, that doesn't have a contract. I'm not great at explaining things, so if you can't understand, please don't hesitate to PM me about this. I will try to find a thread or video on this.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Don't know if I will get any feedback here or not. Lurked this trade thread for a while, and I have chosen a bad time to get involved.
After simming the first season with the astros, scouting and checking development only, I was out of the playoffs by a wide margin.
However, for as bad as the record was, it was a breakout season. I have done many sims with the astros and nothing like this ever came up. Fowler, Altuve, Dominguez, Castro all had big time all star years. Even Carter was decent for him (.243, 22 hr, 75 RBI).
Also somehow scored big in the draft in the first season. My first two picks were fully scouted by me, one being a big contact, big arm corner outfielder with A potential and a 2015 eta, as well as a closer with 97 potential and 2019 eta. The next two picks were unscouted guys , one a 93 potential pitcher, 2019 eta, and the other a 93 potential catcher with a 2015 ETA.... I was wowed by that.
Now I look to make a move. In the offseason, and with the breakout of the players, I decided to modestly increase the budget by 30 million. Signed Jed Lowrie until Correa is ready. Signed Danny Hultzen to be a bottom of the rotation lefty.
Folynewicz and Appel are the arms of the future , but wont be up until midseason.
Main point of this post is about what I can give away to get an established number one pitcher , or to get a top flight reliever. My target goal is winning the pennant in 2016 after I am able to get a couple relievers and maybe one more solid arm. Of course I would like to snag a reliever in free agency but with the game logic, money doesn't trump all in a players decision, and I am worried using Houston won't draw a crowd.
Willing to move Cosart, Carter, and Lowrie (possibly Castro) as well as one of my three top 50 prospectsComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Is Papelbon with the Phillies? With his bad contract you should be able to move him for a mid-level prospect. Hamels could be had for Cosart, a top 3 prospect, and a mid level prospect I'm sure. Maybe you could even swing for both in the same deal. A similar package could pry Kelvin Hererra away from KC, too. With their bullpen surplus, they could be more inclined to deal one away for a Cosart or top 3 prospect.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I simmed a 2014 season with current rosters, and am looking to retool the Orioles for 2015. I'm using OSFM 2.0 and am considering real 2014 performances, no simmed stats from 2014.
Looking for outfield options for the Orioles. Not interested in Aoki, Rasmus, etc. Trading for Kemp or Upton would not be realistic, because the Orioles nor myself will trade Bundy or Gausman. All things considered, I want to trade for Allen Craig from the Red Sox.
Considering his injury-riddled season, but what the Red Sox gave up to give him, what would be a fair deal? I was thinking of offering one of Matusz/Webb/Jimenez and a toolsy minor leaguer like Parker Bridwell or Zach Davies (both considered future innings eaters).Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
If you want top relievers, you could do exactly what the real life Astros did and sign 1-3 of Gregerson, Neshek, and/or Andrew Miller (Astros had an offer on him). Or, has the season started?

Phillies probably won't do Hamels/Pap in the same deal. Paplebon devalues any player he's patterned with in a trade.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Yeah the season already started. The relievers in free agency following the first season were lackluster. I offered David Robertson pretty big money but it was a no go, he chose the Indians over me.
Tell me what yall think of the core of this deal and whether it is unfair.
It is just the first I thought of this morning. Castro for Hammels or Lee.
Castro in the previous season outperformed I think every catcher in the league except Yadier. He batted .294 with 22 homeruns I believe and upwards of 70 RBI. I extended him four years for 30 million.
I would send Castro and Carter for sure. Two young pieces that can contribute right away. I would get Hamels or Lee
Would What would a good third piece be ? Someone as high as Cosart or maybe lower like returning them Domingo Santana ? There are a few decent B guys I could give them to replace their aging right fielder.Comment
