Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah, they would, but his actual value, regardless of the teams' perspective, probably isn't that high. I've been looking at him as a buy low."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Doing an Orioles dynasty. I found a roster set in the vault that is no OSFM but met all my qualifications (theres only a few prospects missing).
Anyways I am currently in spring training slowly and methodically trimming my roster down to 25. Im currently down to 28 and need to cut a pitcher before the start of the season but everyone is performing. The worst performer has been Bud Norris (Gausman is pitching lights out so i can send him down but i feel like he's definitely earned a spot). Norris is out of options so i want to see if I can work out a deal.
I always take spring training stats with a grain of salt but here are his numbers so far this spring:
2-0 4.76 ERA 19/9 K/BB 17IP 1.47 WHIP
Obviously not great numbers but his SABRs suggest he's still solid:
3.35 ERC 2.35 DIPs (His basic stats are inflated by .348 BIPA)
Despite this id like to give Gausman a shot over him.
The spreadsheet (Unbelievable work guys) says two High Cs and i figure for a desperate team that could potentially be a Low B (I could be wrong but he did fetch Hoes and Hader and Hader I think has upped his stock)
Its hard to see many suitors this early but looking at teams desperate for pitching the list of teams looks something like:
White Sox, Royals, Twins, Angels, Mariners, Rangers (Have 4 Lefty starters in rotation), Phillies, Cubs, Brewers, Rockies, Pads.
Ive eliminated teams that are obviously rebuilding (only included the cubs because Theo is smart but he has made some dome moves to get Starting Pitchers *cough* Edwin Jackson *cough*)
I dont have any position targets but At 2B, OF, and RH Starters need to be very young as they wont have a place for a while.
Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry if this post is too long.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Trying to put together some ideas for when OSFM Drops with the Phillies. Thanks for the spreadsheet guys, that is an awesome resource.
A couple deals I'm thinking of if the Phillies are tanking in my first few months of the franchise:
Cliff Lee to the Dodgers for Joc Pederson, Corey Seager, and Julio Urias. There's no mid A in there but 2 High B prospects and a Mid B. Too much or fair value? Also, I know the dodgers rotation is deep but I think they'd still take a shot with Lee to win a world series.
Jonathan Papelbon for Yonder Alonso - their values line up (Low B) but I'm not sure why the padres would do this. Maybe I could get a few suggestions on who to target for Papelbon.
That's all I've got right now... The high prize to sell off is obviously Lee (or Hamels but he's still somewhat young and can be useful) so is there a better deal out there for Lee? I don't think the Phillies will ever truly have a firesale so I probably wouldn't make a ton of deals in the first year. But anyone have any other suggestions?Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Based on the spreadsheet which is great work by the way. I thought of a trade for my twins.
Would this work?
Give- Nolasco(worth Low B, High C)
Receive- Cosart (worth Low B)
or would I have to give up more as the twins because of Nolascos age and Houston being in a rebuild? Looking for fairness not realism as I know this is no way realistic.
PS. doing this as I can't stand NolascoCovers at

Ive thought about it but he would be a very expensive reliever and I have crazy bullpen depth already but thank you for the suggestion!Comment

The Angels need SP depth. Send Norris there as part of a package for Howie Kendrick?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.
