Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

[QUOTE=ACMilan99;2046168345]I actually don't think that's worth it for ARZ. They'd probably want a guy like Pedroia or Bogaerts for Bradley.

What about Middlebrooks Swihart and Webster?

I'd go Middlebrooks, Swihart and Owens to get a deal done.

Headley and Kennedy for Puig? This would be before the season starts. Also what's a good value for Ben Revere?

          Either realistic AND fair?

            Revere is a low B.

Puig getting moved isn't realistic but if you're looking for fair, Headley is a good starting point. It'd have to be prospects included along with Headley though. Grandal/Hedges seem like fits

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm waiting for the osfm rosters to make a trade before the season starts with my Red Sox franchise. My question is would it cost me less to try and trade for CarGo rather than Stanton? If so what would I be looking at giving up?

Currently I was thinking about going after Stanton and would probably be giving up Bogaerts/JBJ/Ranaudo/Webster or a combination of the four with possibly Owens/Betts/Vazquez/Barnes if further needed.

So any ideas of what it would take for CarGo? or any ideas on other similar type players?

If you read back like 10 pages I got bashed for trying to get Stanton without getting rid of Bogaerts. I was told if you wanted Stanton you need to give up Bogy. So with that I would try and get CarGo

CarGo would take A LOT to get. Realistically, they won't trade him. For fairness, you would have to give up maybe like 3 A potential prospects that aren't like 40 overall. They have to be 18-23 years old and like 60+ overall.

                  Maybe Bog, Webster and Owens

                        Puig's value is 2 low A's and 1 high B

                        Headley is 2 mid B's and 1 high C

Let's say 1 mid B and 1 high C = 1 high B, that leaves you 2 low A's short for Puig. Max Fried is 2 high B's and Austin Hedges is 1 mid B and 1 low B. Fried and Hedges together combines for about 2 low A's giving you a somewhat balanced deal. You could also swap Hedges for Grandal in the package instead which I'd prefer as the Dodgers since it's putting them in more of a win now mode.

If you're sending them Headley and they're parting with Puig, Headley needs to be under contract for more than the 2014 season to keep it fairly realistic.

                          CarGo is 1 Mid A, 1 Low A, 1 High B, 1 Low B.

Jackie Bradley is 1 High B and needs to be one of the pieces coming back. Mookie Betts could be the 2B of the future in Denver and he's a high B + a low B (let's call that 1 low A).

                          Let's add Henry Owens (1 high B + 1 low B) and Anthony Ranaudo (2 low B's) to combine for the lacking 1 mid A and 1 low B.

So you'd be looking at Bradley Jr, Betts, Owens and Ranaudo. Maybe throw in another low B like Workman as well and get someone like Matt Belisle (high C) back as a filler for your bullpen while the Rockies open up another spot on their 40 man.

Yea no it's fine... it's just that some of you wouldn't even take into account that I had found reputable sources, IE Nick Cafardo, that think a trade could happen without XB going to in the trade.

Yeah, i wouldn't listen to much of what he says. Most of the time he just throws out random trade scenarios and when he reports actual news he is one of the last to know unless it is of course Red Sox related. Even then i still check with better sources. Nick definitely is not my first choice when i look for news or reliable rumors.
