Personally I wouldn't ever recommend timing with zone available but I'd say get vision to at least 70, that way your not fouling off or popping up fastballs down the middle.

If your on 1st just lean buy holding R1. Also i always hold the stick left when I'm trying to steal that way if a pick off throw happen I'm safe 95% of the time. Also I hear that watching the catcher instead of the pitcher can help, my dudes a burner so I don't do it much.

That's the problem it tells you when you're in the training area when you haven't worked on something for a while and you have a week to add pts or it goes down.

N.T. jones comes off his "terrible" start against the mets, surrendering 2 earned in 7 while striking out 11, byt dominating the brewers again, then coming back and holding the philles to no runs but then gets inexplicably pulled in the 6th after tony gwynn jr hits a shot to first and instead of covering nn.t. says meh I'll just strike the next guy out. not even a quality start. Fine, ok pittsburgh back at wrigley, 7 inning pitched 0er 0 runs 9 k 3 hits 1 walk. I own you pittsburgh.

I'm 5th in the all star balloting for sp.

        currently 4-1 8 starts 6 quality starts 53.2 innings 75k 23 hits 16 walks .86 era

I had the free 30,000 game-stop stubs and before I decided to pursue a second base career long time, my other characters each suffered season ending injuries. So I decided to use some of the free stubs just to increase my durability to a reasonable rating, but I accidentally redeemed all 30,000 and applied them two 1 character and now I have like 25,000+ training points that I'm trying not to use as I don't really want to be 95 overall while I'm still in the minors and I'm trying to use on the pts I earn, but that's a lot of math when I have an abundance of pts already.
Once the stubs are used to buy something, they are for that character only. You can't reverse the purchase.

That is pretty cool that you will get to play for the Bulls eventually. I have only lived in the area a year but I hope to make it to an actual game sometime this season. in RTTS I got drafted by the Cubs in the 5th round. I did bad in the showcase and I do tend to struggle even in games as far as hitting goes. Still I am enjoying it and I guess since this is my first MLB games since Triple Play 2000 on PS1 I should expect it to take awhile. As far as fielding I too play RF and I don't miss too many pop ups but I do hate it when I am told to shift up towards the infield and the ball gets popped over my head.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to upgrade first as a closer?

Or some people buy the training points from the store because they want to be a 99 overall from day 1 and then obviously they'll advance quicker.

But let me just give you some advice: You don't want to get called up too early. If you haven't spent enough time in the minors getting your skills up, you'll get eaten alive in the majors. Savor your time in the minors lol. You can basically take that time to get better at the game and not worry about your stats as much.

I'd rather spend 2 full seasons in the minors and then get called up as like a high 70's to mid 80's player, than get called up after half a season as a 65 overall only to suck and then get sent back down.

By the way, what position is your guy and what organization is he in?
Thanks for the great tips! He is a shortstop and the org (I think??) is the Padres.

Guys - the computer had changed my position from SS to 3B. How do I get back to playing SS?

Basically when I created my character I picked SS as primary position and 3B as secondary. My first 5 games or so I was playing only SS which is what I want. Then my guy got hurt and was out a couple games.

When he came back in, he was playing 3B. Each game since he has been playing 3B. I want him back at SS. I got an Interaction alert and it was a note from the manager asking if I wanted to change positions, but SS was not listed as an option (all positions were listed except for SS).

I even went into the Player Editor and edited my player to tell it that my primary was SS (which it still had set) and set my secondary position to "-" which I assume means no secondary position.

Yet it is still playing me at 3B. Any idea on how to get back to having me only play SS? 3B is kinda cool too but I get a lot less fielding opportunities at 3B than SS (as would be expected).

What is the ultimate goal we are after in RTTS? I know we are raising a young kid and taking him from the minors up to the majors, which is great.

But once you get to the majors, then what? Does it still play in this fast-forward fashion?

Once you've raised your young guy to a star in the majors, can you play full games instead of fast-forward games? If you get into clutch games can you play the whole game?

Since I'm new to the MLB series I'm a little confused what to expect once in the majors and what I'm ultimately after in this RTTS gameplay mode. Thanks.

HOF, break records, win the world series, have fun.

RTTS is about your player. You can/are already play(ing) all the times your player can do something, there's nothing else to do but watch.

It sounds like your wanting to play something more like franchise mode.

I didn't plan on posting any updates of promising young 2nd baseman "Captain" Kirk Schaeffer's career tonight, but I had to tell you guys about the [legendary game he just had in AA as the 71 overall 2nd baseman and his Mississippi Braves just completely destroyed the Montgomery Biscuits 26-5.

                        1ST AB: RBI Triple
                        2nd AB: Double
3rd AB: Flew out to the warning track.
4th AB: Single and stole both 2nd and 3rd base.
                        4th AB: HBP
5th AB: Get's revenge for being hit by pitch. Blasts a Solo HR to straight away center field, completing the cycle.
                        6th AB:HR
                        7th AB:HR

                        Final stat line: 7AB, 6-Hits, 6-Runs, 3HRs, 9-RBI, 2-Steals and 1-Complete cycle.

I may have to get rid of dynamic difficulty at go to HOF after this game, but it was super crazy and fun to play a game like this. I have bought this game nearly every year and this is the first time I have ever hit for the cycle and hit 3HRs in the same game.

"Captain" is on his way to becoming a legend, now if only he would be called up from AA level as every other 2nd baseman has an adjusted overall under their actual overall and ever since adopting legend stance 11 (Bonds), he has dominated AA pitching.

If by full games you mean all plays even if you aren't involved, you can as long as you are starting. Go into options and change game watch to all plays or all fielding and you will control your player even if you aren't involved. This is as long as if I understand your question correctly.

Tell my why in my RTTS my CF that is on the right track to win rookie of the year and some other award can't remember. It is the last month till the team reaches the playoffs. I get a injury sliding back to first bass on a pick off! Ohhhh man I was highly upset. I was sat out for the rest of the month and playoffs, season over. First season in the majors as an 18 year old playing CF for the Yankees. Batting .335, 31HR, 89 RBIs, and 29 Stolen bases. Right now i'm in spring training the yankee's offered me a 542k contract for 1 year. Hopefully I bounce back from this injury put up some good numbers and I will be putting some more points in Durability this season!

Just got called up to the Mets after about 150 ABs with Binghamton and Vegas. Hit a homerun in my first game as a pro, which was cool. Other than that, I haven't got a single stinking hit. I feel outmatched by MLB pitching. I'm hitting mostly weak ground balls, though I have hit a few to the warning track...more K's too. I suppose that's the way it should be, as my first exposure to the majors, even though I'm an 80 rating.

On a side note, is there any way to manually adjust the rosters in this mode? I must have started it with an outdated roster (Ike Davis is still on the Mets). I would imagine there isn't, but thought it might be worth asking.

You can go to your manager and ask to change positions. Might not be available all the time, but keep checking back after every game.
