Got called up to Baltimore last night at around 12 AM. First game was against the A's and I was batting cleanup behind Chris Davis. First at-bat, I work a full count with Sonny Gray and then blast a home run to left center for my first hit and home run. Two at-bats later, I hit another home run. Currently on a 6 game hit streak while batting .427

        Update...

"Captain" was expected to bring excellent contact, great D and elite speed to the Braves organization. However, his power has been a pleasant surprise as after early struggles(3 for 15 start), Captain tweaked his batting mechanics by switching his stance to legend 11 (Barry Bonds), he has seemed to benefit from a substantial increase in bat speed which has lead 9 HRs in his next 13 games and is looking like a 5 tool 2nd baseman, who could one day be a 50-50 player.

With Dan Uggla hitting just .113 in the first month and the other 2nd baseman in the organization at AAA or above trending downward, "Captain" could soon follow in the footsteps of former top prospects Manny Machado and Jose Fernandez and earn an early promotion to the majors with-out recording a single AAA at bat. We'll see how this plays out in the early going.

Are you guys playing through all your minor league games or simming them?

I am about 10 games into the minors and its fun, but I'm not so great at the game (although I am batting .300) so I am only getting about 25-40 training points for game.

These points generally only enable me to bump up one attribute by one notch after each game. It feels like at this pace I'll need over 100 games to make some significant improvements to my attributes.

Being new to the MLB series, I'm not sure what the right/best way is to approach this? Is RTTS mainly about playing in the minors and long long eventually making it to the majors? Or are you supposed to get to the majors more quickly?

I guess the main thing I'm trying to figure out is whether its normal to earn such few points each game and at this rate whether it'll take forever to build up the attributes.

          Thanks!

N.T. Jones has made 3 mlb starts currently 2-0 20 innings pitched, 29k 12 hits allowed 6 walks .80 whip .90 era opponent batting average is a paltry .145

However in those 3 games I've gotten 3 runs in support. I had to got 6.2 then watch as my bullpen held on making one run stand up against Milwaukee. Then against sd homer bailey hits a 2 run homer in the first and I got 7 giving up 1 run and again white knuckle as the bullpen shuts sd down some more. I have a date with tim lincecum and the giants next

Most of the time with normal development you should be in the majors within 2 seasons, some people get there a lot earlier because they're raking in the minors, maybe their team has nobody at that position blocking their advancement, or maybe there is an injury and they're forced to call you up. Or some people buy the training points from the store because they want to be a 99 overall from day 1 and then obviously they'll advance quicker.

But let me just give you some advice: You don't want to get called up too early. If you haven't spent enough time in the minors getting your skills up, you'll get eaten alive in the majors. Savor your time in the minors lol. You can basically take that time to get better at the game and not worry about your stats as much.

I'd rather spend 2 full seasons in the minors and then get called up as like a high 70's to mid 80's player, than get called up after half a season as a 65 overall only to suck and then get sent back down.

By the way, what position is your guy and what organization is he in?

Ok, this might sound ridiculous, but I CANNOT hit the ball in the showcase. I've created a player like 5 times today and I keep sucking... Tips?

What are your starting contact/power/plate vision rankings? What were your starting tools? (The 1-5 ranking on contact, power, fielding, arm and speed).

Also, do you have swing feedback turned on? It will tell you if you're late, early, if your stride is bad, etc.

When I first got the game, the first thing I did was the showcase. Didn't play any exhibition or anything to warm up. Let's just say I was rusty from not having played The Show in like 6 months, I was late on everything. Plus they seem to have adjusted the stride timing this year so I was off regardless, because I was used to last year's stride timing.

I added two to my contact. And yes I have feedback on. I am not the best hitter in franchise and other modes but I am better than what Im hitting like now in showcase.

I would put 3 on contact. And then when you first start, dump all 500 of those freebie points into plate vision.

I was messing around last night and created Kenny Powers, CP. I got the look as close as I could. I'll have to take a pic of him later tonight. He got drafted 4th overall in the first round. Only played one game with him. Ended up getting the save.

So what was contact out of 5? What was power out of 5? Did you add any of your 500 training points you get to start out? What about plate vision?

Plate vision is very important, it affects how big your plate coverage is. If you have a very small area of plate coverage you won't be able to square up the ball very well.

I dunno if you need to add all 500, I'm just letting you know not to ignore it.

Also you might be playing on too high of a difficulty setting. I recommend dynamic difficulty. I played on all-star difficulty last year most of the time, but on dynamic difficulty this year it took me a long time just to graduate out of rookie lol

You're not using timing for batting are you? If so switch to zone as your characters plate vision sucks for timing.
