New to RTTS

Hi,

I've been playing The Show for years, but never tried RTTS. I had, until this year, played only franchise mode. I am really enjoying this mode and while it's a lot of fun I can only imagine the possibilities in the future.

I was wondering, does anyone have much luck requesting trades. I have created two different players and requested trades and I'm told it can't be worked out. I guess no one wants me. Haha.

One thing I thought was really cool. My 18 yr old 3b I created was raking in AA and promoted to Louisville from the Blue Wahoos. My average went down but so did my power, drastically, which I thought would probably be accurate given age and low number of at bats. I was playing every game too and not simming. Then the Reds purchase my contract and demote Todd Frazier. I am using the OSFM rosters. In my first major league game I get one hit, and the second game I go 4-4. Then the slide. Wow, I couldn't buy a hit. I was hitting .189 by the end of the season. What didn't make sense is that the Reds were in 1st when I went up and fell out of contention. By the end of the season I was riding pine, but I should and wanted to be sent down. Didn't make much sense. Todd Frazier or me, a .189 hitting 3b.

Nevertheless, I really am enjoying playing this mode.

You can go to your manager and ask to change positions. Might not be available all the time, but keep checking back after every game.

Yes I do have the Interaction that gives me the option to change positions. However SS is not listed. Apparently the game knows that is my primary position based on how I created my character, and thinks it shouldn't therefore offer it to me again. Yet its not playing me there! Is anyone else having an issue with the manager playing them in a position they don't want to play and not being able to get back to their primary chosen permission?

RTTS is about your player. You can/are already play(ing) all the times your player can do something, there's nothing else to do but watch.

It sounds like your wanting to play something more like franchise mode.

Its like I'm wanting a hybrid of RTTS and Franchise. For all the minor league and even major stuff I want the RTTS-like cpu control. But once my team gets into the playoffs I'd like to have control over the destiny of the team, not just my player.

..."Captain" is on his way to becoming a legend, now if only he would be called up from AA level as every other 2nd baseman has an adjusted overall under their actual overall and ever since adopting legend stance 11 (Bonds), he has dominated AA pitching.

Adopting legeng stance 11? What does that mean? Is there a way to customize your stance? I had not idea. If so, how? Thanks!

Guys - the computer had changed my position from SS to 3B. How do I get back to playing SS?

Basically when I created my character I picked SS as primary position and 3B as secondary. My first 5 games or so I was playing only SS which is what I want. Then my guy got hurt and was out a couple games.

When he came back in, he was playing 3B. Each game since he has been playing 3B. I want him back at SS. I got an Interaction alert and it was a note from the manager asking if I wanted to change positions, but SS was not listed as an option (all positions were listed except for SS).

I even went into the Player Editor and edited my player to tell it that my primary was SS (which it still had set) and set my secondary position to "-" which I assume means no secondary position.

Yet it is still playing me at 3B. Any idea on how to get back to having me only play SS? 3B is kinda cool too but I get a lot less fielding opportunities at 3B than SS (as would be expected).

What happened is you lost your starting job when you were injured and that's why it's not a position switch option to SS. You're still a SS and after a few weeks you should be moved back to SS.

You just go to edit player and scroll over to personalize and batting stance is the first option.

You had to upload to the actual show cloud and not just the ps+ cloud.. I made this mistake too.

I think I am going to do my Franchise with Player lock, alternating different positions every game so that I play all nine positions in the first 9 games and then start over again.

After a 2 months of destroying AA pitching, promising 2nd base prospect "Captain" Kirk Schaeffer was called up to the Atlanta Braves without recording even a single AAA at bat. "Captain's" First MLB at bat proved successful as he recorded his first hit in the majors.

Next goal: ROTY

Playing my SP on the NH Fisher Cats (AA) against Binghamton Mets in their home stadium, just got my 13th punchout, and when I struck that last guy out...i hear someone from the crowd yell "AHHHHHHHH COME ONNNNN!!!".

Was the funniest thing I ever heard in a game. =)

I went back to School for two years, and got drafted by Cincinnati in the second round. I've been playing consistent and finally got called up to Triple-A Bats. 5/9. Let the journey continue.

is there some secret way to get called up or something? I feel like my players are glitched.

my first player, a 75 overall power hitting SS, should have been called up long ago. here are his stats:

309 at bats, .379 AVG, 25 HR, 117 Hits, 77 RBIs, 10 Steals

I just finished the AA all star game and my potential is still at a D and my performance is still "as expected".

My second player, a closing pitcher, was the 1st overall pick in the draft. Never missed a save, more strikeouts than hits allowed, no HRs allowed, sub 1.00 ERA... basically as good as it gets. played a whole season like that and didn't even get invited to spring training?

what am I missing? because this makes me not want to play anymore.
