Yeah I'm not saying you can't get called up to the majors just that it takes much longer.

Yeah the pitches actually don't matter for a closer other than how you perform, as a 55 ovr you'll never touch the majors. Clutch is the most important then HR's then the walks and hits stats.

ok I got a 2nd baseman drafted by the Cubs in the 4th round. with C potential,

        Perception: Future Big Leaguer
        Perfromance: Above Expectations
Role: was a Double A starter but for some reason even though I am freaking owning double A and leading in almost every category I have been bumped down to a Double A Bench role. Not too mention all the other 2b in the Cubs system are trending down but I have been UP since day 1.

        Potential: C
        Overall: 64
        Adjusted Overall: 70

        Smokies are 22-24

I have played in the 5th fewest amount of Games at 29
        112AB 4HR 25RBI .429avg .462OBP .643SLG% 6BB 11SO 3SB 9Errors

I would lead Double A in Batting Average if I was eligible,
I am 6th in Hits with 48 the person in 1st has 60hits he also has 191AB compared to my 112
191AB is the most in Double A and I have 112. The most on my team is 176
I am tied for 17th with 8 doubles
Tied for 5th with 2 Triples
Tied for 17th with 4 HRs
        9th in RBI with 25
        Tied for 23rd with 19runs
        Tied for 16th with 3SB
I would lead the league in SLUG% and OPS if I was eligible.

I am the only Hot player on our team and 2nd in all star votes only due to the fact that I have played in so few games.

Just wondering why they put me to the bench despite my great production not to mention I have the 3rd highest overall at my position in our system.

and even when I was starting they had me batting 6th or 7th I would always have to go to interactions to get them to move me to 4th or 5th.

I just went to my email and it says since SS Jeudy Valdez 63ovr and D potential is back healthy they are moving me to the bench. Even though he is on a terrible cold streak and I am the best player in all of Double A.

        Whats the problem?

I guess hard work does pay off in this game just gotta be patient because even though they had my role as a double A bench player they just moved up to AAA.

with only a week left in my 2nd month at this rate I may get moved to the MAJORS. I am so excited right now love this game.
Also really nervous my dynamic difficulty is only on veteran though.

they got me batting 5th behind Javier Baez and Kris Bryant.
I am too excited to play with these guys I just wish Soler would get moved up to AAA with us so all of us could play together

The Future is coming for my CUBS.

Do Non user controlled players even get moved up and down?

Yep. I moved from AA to the majors on the Padres and Everth Cabrera was doing really bad so he took my spot in AA when I moved up.

yea but that was because u moved up I mean like do cpu players at diff positions move up and down not because of anything that your person does

pissing and moaning and threatening to quit because your closing pitcher can't get called up, and he's a 55 overall. No team is calling up a 55 overall pitcher lol. And with your shortstop, you said he was a 75 I think. What team are you on? What are the players in front of you rated? I'm guessing you probably have a shortstop on the big league roster that's rated in the 80's.

Go into the "player comparison" screen and it will show you your rating, your adjusted rating (basically how good you're playing), your team's "perception" of you, and then it will also show all those things for the other players at your position on the roster. You might find some answers there.

If you just want to be in the MLB right away you can create a player, put him on a roster, then do a franchise with player lock. You can make him rated all 99's if you want.

After waiting for the OSFM Hybrid rosters, they got delayed today so I decided to finally start my guy.

                    Name: Otis Jackson
                    Position: CF
                    Height: 6'3"
                    Weight: 202 lbs
                    Team: Houston Astros

I have been using dynamic difficulty since I got the game. I had worked it up to Veteran ++ or something when I started the showcase.

First time around, I did OK, was drafted by the Giants in the 2nd round. I a) don't like the Giants and b) really wanted to be a 1st round pick, preferably high in the first round. So I went to JUCO for 1 season.

Came back and raked in the showcase the 2nd time, and got drafted 1st overall to the Astros. I actually saved it before the draft because I wanted to see if I would get different results on different attempts. Reloaded the draft and I went #2 to Miami that time lol. I thought that was interesting. Ultimately I decided I'd rather play for Houston than Miami. Better ballpark, better unis, good farm system.

So now I'm about 5 weeks into my first season in AA. I was destroying, hitting over .350 for the entire first month. After getting my dynamic difficulty bumped up to All-Star and then All-Star ++ (or however many pluses I was at, can't remember) I cooled off though. I'm currently batting .286 with 5 homers and 16 RBIs in early-mid May.

Because overall rating should be the most important thing right? not the fact that I had as many saves as I had innings pitched for an entire season? not that I had twice as many strikeouts as hits against me? I wasn't worried about overall because it didn't seem to stop me from dominating on legendary difficulty.

Like I posted earlier, my SS has a way higher overall higher than the AAA SS who is a 59 overall. Excuse me for thinking the best player in AA BY FAR should get called up to at least AAA after hitting 25 HRs along with 77 RBIs in half a season.

Thanks for your comment but someone has already given me information that was actually helpful.

Can we ask to be traded?

I was traded once already. Out of the blue. On the Padres, and I really don't want to play another year on this team. I doubt there will be a trade me option. But it would be nice.

I am the 4th highest rated player on the team. I was second in the NL rookie of the year race. I ended the season with 17 HR and 71 RBIs. Third on the team for RBIs. And 5th on the team for HR.

And in the offseason it gave me a popup about them wanting to extend my contract 1yr for 500K. I declined. But then it just simmed the rest of the offseason and then said they renewed my contract for 500K for the 40 man roster. And so I am just on the team still. I was expecting to be placed on the FA pool or kicked down to AAA or something. Very disappointed in that.

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread

Been playing Franchise mostly this far, but I decided to start my RTTS today. I chose LF as my position, though I can play anywhere in the OF. I chose LF mostly because I want to be on the Rays, and this is a position of weakness for them, but also because there's a dearth of good LFs throughout the majors.

I went through the showcase, and was given a 3rd round grade at the end. Entered the draft, and sure enough, I was taken in the 3rd by the Cubs. I figured I could do better than 3rd, so I went back to JUCO for 1 year. Came back, completed the showcase again, and was given a 6th round grade this time. Went back through the draft, knew I could surely do better than a 6th, and went back to JUCO for 1 more year (I was 18 to begin with so I'm not losing a bunch of time). I was once again given a 6th round grade, said F it, and just chose the Rays and went on with it. I was drafted in the 7th.

Luckily for me and the Rays, it looks like they got a steal. Through 16 games (69 AB) at AA for the Biscuits, I'm batting .333 with 2 HR and 14 RBI. Oddly, I'm batting MUCH better against lefties (.636) than righties (.276), despite my contact vs. LHP being just 43 and my contact against RHP being 60. It's weird. I almost feel like I'm cheesing somehow, but I'm sure it'll even out a bit soon. I'm hitting on HOF, btw.

What I've put my points in thus far: 20 points in Contact vs. RHP (60), 3 points in Contact vs. LHP (43), 4 points in Power vs. R (44), 25 points in Plate Vision (65), 23 points in Fielding [(43)(They've had be DHing in every game but one this far, but I don't expect to DH in the bigs, so I figured I'd better increase the fielding a bit)], 9 points in Reaction (29). My speed was already 75 and stealing was 50, so I'm not going to have to worry about those for a while, which is nice.

So yeah, I'm liking it a lot thus far. Only sitting at a 59 overall with D potential (Does potential even matter in RTTS?), but I'm making steady progress. From here, I'm probably going to put 5 more points in contact vs. RHP, 7 in Contact vs. LHP, then work on Power vs. RHP. I need to hit some BOMBS. I keep flying out to the track.

Nice to hear another SS is having the same problem I am.

My guy started his career by being drafted 4th by the Twins. In the first 30 games of the season he was hitting 370 with over 500 slugging playing in AA and rated the top SS in the Twins organization. He promptly dislocated his ankle and done for the year.

Season 2 began almost as good hitting 350 until about 20 games in and was traded to the Nationals. The first month in the Nationals system, still AA I hit over 500. At this point I am coming off of an all star appearance, hitting 370, rated 81 with a higher adjusted overall, listed the top SS in the organization, and stuck playing against guys rated 30 points lower every day. Such is life on the RTTS.

Btw, the Nationals do have a better rated SS in their organization that could be the only reason holding me up but according to them, I am playing better. Debating switching to 2nd or asking for a trade to not waste my time.

Just had a question for anyone who can answer it. How do you add a pitch this year? If you are a pitcher, I don't see the option for adding to your 3 pitches this year. I am sure I am missing something, so just wondering. Thanks!
