I sucked in the Showcase and got a C potential. I'm tearing it up right now in AA, and my attributes are increasing nicely.. Can my potential go up??

fastball up in the zone, middle of the plate, good timing, after influencing fly ball? Ground ball to the 2nd baseman. Doesn't matter what pitch it is or where the location is, my guy will find a way to hit it into the ground for an out.

So I created a CF and in year one I batted .490 in 12 games in AA with 6 doubles and 3 triples and a hit in all 12 games. I got called up because of an injury to AAA.


In AAA I batted .277 in 32 games with 4 doubles 2 triples 7Hrs and 8Sbs. I decided to mess around and dive at a ball that the right fielder already grabbed and tore my rotator cuff and was out for the rest of the year. Needless to say I was in fear that it would be a career ending injury.


I recovered and didn't get invited to spring training. At the end of April in AA I am batting .476 with 23Rs 5 triples 17Hrs 41 RBIs and 8SBs through 20 games. Surprisingly I haven't been called up yet and I'm a 66 overall with C Potential.


Does anyone know if upgrading your player (contact, power, speed, ect.) cost less if you have a higher potential? I have a second Rtts player on hold in the showcase until I find out if potential has a big effect or not.

Made a hard throwing SP with a 4 seamer, changup, and a curveball. Pitched great during the showcase games. Got drafted in the 2nd round by the Royals. I hope to make him a beast all around pitcher. Going to add a slider sometime. B potential.

Anyone find it hard to walk with your player? I have 3 walks in ~120 ABs, and one of those was intentional. Perhaps this is a slider issue, but even after adjusting them a little bit, I haven't noticed a difference in walk rate. I've gotten to 3-0 counts at least a dozen times, and each time the pitcher comes back with 3 straight strikes. The one time I managed to get a ball on a fifth pitch, the ump called it a strike even though it was out of the zone.

It isn't a huge deal, but it means my OBP is only 5 points higher than my batting average. If anyone has tips for adjusting sliders, that would be great.

Anybody know how to get a Japanese style follow through or slap style follow through on your RTTS hitter? I am trying to create a Japanese phenom but when i choose any of the Japanese style stances for my player the follow through is not the special japanese style, any help appreciated

Haven't experimented with it yet this year, but last year I think I lowered the CPU strike rate/CPU control a few notches. The CPU's ability to hit the black at will on this game is maddening lol.

Yeah I've had like 6 walks between almost 300 plate appearances in AA and AAA. Some of that is my fault, I've had moments where I swung at the 4th ball and hated myself for it (or hated the computer for saying I swung when I barely even flinched on the right stick and didn't push it forward). But there is also, like you said, a lot of instances where you get up 3-0 and then all the sudden the pitcher throws 3 straight strikes.

Through my first 296 career plate appearances across AA and AAA I haven't been beaned once, I thought that was a little odd, I remembered getting beaned like 10 times a year in RTTS in 13.

How is it that every single team I play has some crazy 9th inning comeback, every single game? The stupid simulation has some non realistic scores.. 9 runs with 7 hits, first inning 12 run blow outs.. Against horrible teams.

Tampa bay rays are 17 games ahead of anyone in the AL in my game.. Meanwhile they are dead last in their division irl

I literally can't beat them because when the game sims, they score ridiculous amounts of runs.

I really love this game but they have to fix the simulation while your character isn't playing. I want to make the damn playoffs lol I'm leading the league in batting avg and have all stars on my team.. Yet we lose when it sims between innings.

I still have Tanaka (I usually win with him, leads AL with ERA), Sabathia, Kelly (ERA 4.81), Thornton (6.26 ERA), nova, Pineda and just mostly trades.. Bums.. Dan haren is on my team and killing me.. He's 6-12 with an era of 5.53..

I have Collin McHugh with an ERA of 54.00

I guess I need a new bullpen.. Or team..

In years past you could use manual injuries to prevent trades. If your team made a stupid trade, you'd quit to the main menu, reload the franchise, then give 1 or more of the involved players a short injury like a migraine or something. Injured players can't be traded.


BUT, it seems like this was removed this year? I turned on manual injuries in my RTTS but I'm unable to actually use the function. Can anybody tell me if this was removed for sure or if I'm just not doing it right?

I feel your pain. Everytime my team gets a early lead it never fails. Around the 8th inning we always lose a lead.

N.T. jones with another sterling start 8 ip 2 hits 2 walks 9k 0er 0r gets a mountain of run support cubbies win 3-0. Jones moves to 5-1 on the season and in the midst of a 3 win streak an is the 3rd leading all star game vote getter for pitchers.
