Does anyone know what it takes as far as AB's or games played to lose your rookie status? I got promoted on August 12th in my first season, just trying to figure out if I'll be eligible for ROY next year.

A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the period of 25-player limit (excluding time in the military service and time on the disabled list).

So does this mean that since I was called up in August, that the days during September (when rosters go to 40) don't count toward the 45 day total?Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

I don't know for sure, but just by reading that I'd say no. I'd wait for someone with a better understanding to clarify.Comment

I'm sure I know the answer but did they remove the manual injury? I hate when after the showcase I pick my team and get traded .. I have it on manual save but exciting out and trying again really sucks..8 times now for my closer. I didn't pick my team just do I can get traded..ugh.Favorites:

I just started my second season with the Mariners and wow the Opening Day presentation was great, I'm really liking this game.
In a side note, the Mariners are actually doing pretty well with me struggling, Kyle Seager is killing it early in the season.NFL: Seattle Seahawks

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Well I just started my first full season as a Pirate. For all of April and into May I was on the bench. I would get in occasionally for PH duties or in LF but rarely got to play my position in RF. Finally I started hitting more consistently than Gregory Polanco so they have me as the starting RF. I am batting over .400 so far with 7 HRs and 18 RBIs. I am definitely seeing the ball better now and starting to use more of the zone for hitting. The last few HRs I have hit were low in the zone and I also put together a 2 HR game against the Brewers. That game I ended up going 3-5 with 5 RBIs and the first 2 at bats were my HRs. Also I am proud to say after the previous season the Pirates finished just above the Cubs in the division but are currently standing in 1st place. I will see how it goes for the rest of the season but I do wish they had started me from day one.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Ok so I went 4 games without a single hit...my batting average dropped from .400 to .305 and I can't buy a hit to save my life.
For some reason I just started swinging at pitches not remotely close to my PCI. There were some glimpses that my guy wanted to take up a career in cricket as he also started swinging at pitches in the dirt and trying to play it off the bounce.
Took to batting practice to start fully concentrating on only where the PCI is and the next game...got off to a good start with my first hit in 5 games with my first at bat.
Grounded out and with my 3rd at bat, waited for a ball high and away, got it, power swing and hit my first AA homerun...and a no doubter at that.
It's still very early in the season and I've lost my starting spot on the all star voting with the slump I went through (or still going through) and need to recover big time in the upcoming games.
I've also requested a trade, and got the message that they want me, but if I want out then they'll trade me. So I'm waiting to see where I'll end up...heading away from my favorite Giants. Figured that I'm going to do a franchise with them, and don't want to play franchise and rtts with the same team.San Francisco 49ers

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
Finally made it to Free Agency with my White Sox RF.
After playing 7 years (they called me up in early May so that first year doesn't count as a full in service year) in Chicago, I have risen to the glorious 99 overall and have moved my potential from a D to an F and all the way up to a B from there. I've been averaging 25 HR, 90 RBI, and 88 Runs with a .274 average. I've won a Gold Glove in RF, been to the All-Star game twice and been an All-Star Game MVP.
In my 7 years in Chicago, we made the playoffs four times. Twice as a Wildcard and twice as the AL Central Champions. We never made it out of the ALDS. The state of the team upon my decision to decline a qualifying offer was a roster featuring all of three players rated 80 or higher.
In Free Agency I took a look at a few teams' rosters and decided I wanted to win championships and the best options were the Dodgers (they have gone to the WS 5 times in my RTTS), Cardinals, or the Nationals. (Side bar; Mike Trout has regressed at age 28 to a 76 overall! Like what happened?!?!)
Sadly, non of those teams approached me. However, an interesting offer came up from the New York Yankees; they offered 5 years for a total of $122,000,000. I thought, "Why not? If the Bankees want to throw money at me that's fine. If they agree to a ridiculous contract I will sign, it is the Yankees after all - that's a lot of prestige."
So I counter with 10yr/$285,000,000. They counter with 6yr/$150,000,000.
Then I offer 10yr/$265,000,000. They counter with...
Spoiler10yr/$250,000,000!!!
I sign that contract immediately (yes, I know the contracts are arbitrary).
The team isn't all that great but I am about to become the next great Yankee - plus it doesn't hurt that my pop-ups are going to become homers in New Yankee Stadium.
All I have to do now is change my number from 13 (that's cursed for big Yankee contract's now) and shave my player's face, after all the Yankees are a respectable organization.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
What's the largest contract you guys have ever signed or been offered ? My deal is almost up at the end of the season. I can't wait to see what I'm offered. But I'll probably only a sign 1 or 2 year deal to keep my options open every year.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show PS4: Road to the Show Thread
The Padres drafted me, and I was stuck in their minor leagues. I simmed the most of the 2013-2014 season, and the entire '15 and 16 seasons. I moved up to the triple A roster, then the Padres put me back in the double A rosters. Disrespected, I asked to be traded and was traded to the Red Sox! Simmed two or three months, and I've just been called up to an MLB roster for the first time!Ravens: In Ozzie We Trust
