If IIRC, MVP had this feature. You had the option of throwing to the cut-off man but you could also throw to a base and then pull the left trigger or something that would make your guy cut it off. That worked really well. I'd love to see some feature like that next year.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
One thing I've experienced a lot on The Show 13 was when I would take a lead at first base, the pitcher wouldn't always throw over...but as soon as I set up for him to steal it's like the computer knew every time and would ALWAYS throw the ball to first. I'm not taking any bigger lead than I was before so I think it's stupid that the computer kinda knows that I pressed the button to steal.
I feel like it takes the realism of it away. How is it now??

Good news is you can still play a great game of baseball.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
No.
Runner on second. Ball hit to the outfield.
You should be able to throw home to see if you can get the runner at the plate but then decide to cut the ball off by the first baseman at the last second if the batter decides to advance to second and you don't have a shot at the plate.
That's fundamental. As it stands, you have to decide off the bat if you want to try and throw the guy out at home (giving up second in the process) or just concede the run and keep the runner at first.
That's now how it works in real life.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Q & A (PS4)
Seriously considering getting the PS4 for this game now that fingerhut has them in stock again. However currently the only tv i have to play this on would be a 720 Plasma.
Is it worth getting a ps4 now or should i wait until i get a 1080p tv with 120 refresh rate???"Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

I have no idea how difficult it would be to do, but yes, we should be able to hit L1 to cut it off.Comment

WOW you can't even throw to a cutoff man? That's kind of insane. I had no idea; MLB The Show 14 on PS4 will be my first time purchasing a game from the franchise. I've played past editions at my friends' house but never got deep enough to notice the lack of a cutoff throw. Even the crappy 2K baseball games allows you to do that.PSN:Xplisit21

You can throw to a cutoff man, you just can't cut off mid throw.
You just have to decide to do so ahead of time.Comment

They are aware that people want this but they are not going to implement something for the sake of doing it until it can be done well. One of the obstacles is animation syncing so it looks believable and not just some spastic catch animation just because you pressed a button to do it.Last edited by nemesis04; 05-03-2014, 06:15 PM.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment
