Also would need to explain how the bullpen works and what kind of players should i get there. And for how long do I need to keep players in AA or AAA till I call em up to majors. Also need to know which statistics do I need to track, which are the most important in the game. When to put the player on the bench and how to use the players from the bullpen. How the bullpen works and when should I use this players. But at most really need to help to choose the team. Im looking for a team with many options to work with and want to be competitive, division is not important. Thanks alot for any suggestions
I actually wrote this for you in the other thread you asked this question.

As much as I would like to help you, what you need is a daunting task. I could literally write for days and pages upon pages of info and still not cover everything you are asking to know. There are a couple of nice deep threads around if you search about managing bullpens and game-play stuff.

What I would recommend is to start watching all of the Baseball you can. Pick a high budget team to start, that way you don't have to worry as much about development right away. Maybe the Dodgers or Nationals if you are a National league guy or the Red Sox or Tigers if you like the American league.

Just start playing. Play exhibition games, start a franchise and play all of the Spring Training Games. Take small steps to manage your team. Don't make any changes right away. Baseball is a game of trends so the players that suck or are struggling today could be your next break out player that gives you the push to the Playoffs.

Read as much as you can, watch as much as you can. Baseball is a huge sport. Both in History and Scope. It can be boring in its minutia and then become the most intense and exciting moment of you life the next second, literally. I seem to stand alone in my opinion, except for a few old timers, in that I feel MLB The Show 14 is an amazing portrayal of the sport I love.

Welcome to your new obsession. If you have specific questions feel free to shoot me a pm I would be glad to help.

Mets franchise: simmed to today's date, and the Mets are 39-34. The Mets are a half game (0.5) behind the Nationals for first in the NL East. The Mets are tied/have the tiebreaker for the first NL Wild Card with the Diamondbacks and the division rival Phillies. Mets LF Curtis Granderson is second in the MVP race to Giants RF Hunter Pence. Granderson is hitting a .304 average with 16 home runs and 55 RBIs. Mets C Travis D'rnaud is second in the ROY Race, behind Reds LF Steven Kessler. D'Arnaud is averaging .266, with 4 HRs and 19 RBIs. Mets SP Jon Niese is in first for the Gold Glove P. David Wright is in third for Gold Glove 3B. (There are more but I won't post them right now as it's June in the game.)

In this episode of Astros Insider, I discuss managerial roster topics that pertain to a trade for Masahiro Tanaka, free-agent signee Raul Ibanez, and the struggling top prospect Javier Baez - as well as statistical talk and a roster overview.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

I'm starting up a new franchise today with the Tampa Bay Rays. The reasoning for the Rays is there in the always tough AL East, there's a lot of work to be done with there roster, and, most importantly, it's challenging but still fun.

Up on the big league club you've got some studs in Longoria, Price, Zobrist, Cobb, Moore, and Hellickson. Now with that being said, Price and Zobrist are out. They're as good as gone and trading them for prospects is my #1 priority this year.

My goals for the first season are just to go out and compete and see what happens. This franchise is going to be a very front office focused, tactical franchise so I'm debating on whether or not I want to do a report on it in the Dynasty forums.

What would be the best team for someone that hasn't played the game before, and has only been playing for two days? I'd like to be the Yankees, Mets or Orioles.

Depends on what type of franchise you want to run. If you are familiar with the front office aspect of franchise mode and want to rebuild team, then I say go with the Mets. Even if you are not familiar with all of it, there are really helpful guides here on OS and a handbook that really helps in one of the tabs in franchise mode.

If you want a team that has a shot a contending then the Orioles or Yankees are a better choice. Pick either of these two if you just want to just pick up and play and don't care about all the front office dealings. You can just set everything to auto, because it will require lots of attention if you want to keep a team properly running.

I like the Orioles for a few reasons

                - Sweet uniforms
                - Powerful offensive team
                - Stud pitching prospects who could play the first year (Bundy/Gausman)
                - Awesome stadium

I've gone on a very nice past 12 games (9-3) and I've only gained two games on the Rangers. I'm still 12 GB with a 37-39 record as they are 50-28 I want to say.

My pitching staff is really starting to get better and I'm getting some timely hits. I'll post some stats when I hit the 81 games mark

This isn't the great advice as far as NYY is concerned.

They are generally in perpetual Rebuild Mode and will more than likely trade away his star players even if he's in contention if Trades are left to Auto.

In my Cubs franchise, rubber game against the Reds, Edwin Jackson owning them through 8. Cubs up 2-1 in the 9th, I pull Jackson as he has almost zero energy left and my Bullpen let's the Reds tie in the 9th and win it in the 10th.

My question to you guys is would you have pulled Jackson with no gas left or let him try for the CG?

Depends on a number of variables. Pitch Count, Matchups, the part of the lineup, how hard he's getting hit over the last few outs. Usually, I have my starter get the CG. In that case, I would've let him get the CG because I have yet to see an injury related to a high amount of pitches thrown.

In my chise I had Tanaka throw 150 pitches in a CG effort. I played on CG so when I exited the game it said he had 183 pitches lol.

If he plans on playing alot of the games and not simming, he could definitely win a bunch of games with that roster. I do agree with not leaving some of management things on auto with NY. In my franchise, all of there best players are constantly on the trading block.

Orioles. You have the potential (depending on how you handle peoples rehab) of opening the season with a rotation that includes, Dylan Bundy, Kevin Gausman, Johan Santana, and Chris Tillman, with a choice of Chen, Norris, Jimenez, and or Norris as the 5th starter. There are a couple of prospects still in the minors, but for the most part all those guys are up in AAA or the majors.

The offense is stacked, and for whatever reason CPU teams don't play Davis in the overshift.

You play 81 games in a great park, and get to beat up on the Yankees for 19 games a season.

For you though being a fan of both teams don't know if that is a plus or minus.

Just had a save with Glen Perkins in my Twins chise that makes me want to start smoking and have a smoke, lol. Up 7-6 at the Padres, Carlos Quentin singles. Then Headley chops a pitch back to the mound, which Perkins throws high to 2nd to get nobody out. Chris Denorfia lays down a bunt and beats it out for bases loaded with 0 out.

Then I strike out Yasmani Grandal on a low slider, Cameron Maybin whiffs on a squeeze attempt and Carlos Quentin is out by 35 feet at home. Maybin grounds out to end the game.

Playing the Phillies and Lee is dominating me. He's working on a one-hit shutout entering the ninth, up 4-0.

Freeman (who had had the day off) gets a lead-off pinch-hit single. Two outs later, Johnson ends the shutout bid with a two-run homer. J-Upton makes it back-to-back homers. Heyward makes it back-to-back-to-back to tie it at 4.

I left Freeman in the game, hitting 9th. Gattis leads off the 10th with a single and a sacrifice bunt gets him to second. Freeman comes through with an RBI double. Kimbrel shuts the door in the 10th and the Braves win 5-4.

That completed a four-game sweep of the Phillies to get us back to 8-8 and a game behind the Nats.
