And Bundy for Gio was really the only stretch and it is also reasonable in my opinion. I mean look how often top prospects get traded to bring in a guy who will be an ace of the staff. It's nearly impossible to completely avoid exploiting the trade logic in this game, the best you can do is make trades that seem reasonable to you. I understand that wandy would not net Bauer in real life, but in this game it's not a unreasonable trade when adding a had throwing rookie pitcher and and A potential outfielder. If mean I wasn't trying to keep from exploiting the trade Price, Gio Gonzalez, Bundy, Gausman, Hunter Harvey, Matt Harvey, Zach Wheeler Snydergard, Carlos Correa and Starlin Castro could all be on my team for the same players I traded to build my team.

I personally just don't think the trades were fair. I understand you don't care about realism but you do state you want to be fair.

In the future, if you desire, you could use the link I supplied. There are several guys who will likely reply and help you out. They can point you in the right direction of fairness, not realism. Just make sure to state you only want fairness.

At the end of the day if you can justify it in your mind then go with that.

Just throwing this out there, Bauer and Cole absolutely despise each other. I noticed Kirkel13 mentioned reuniting them. It pains me to see the Pirates system essentially dismantled, but hey, you're the GM, you call the shots. To each his own really.

He didn't really dismantle them as he took two A pitching prospects from the Orioles. Bunday is a projected #1 starter and Rodriguez is a nice prospect as well.

Hitting wise the Pirates don't have much in the farm system now but he has a decent lineup as is.

Oh I agree with you on that, I'm just kind of a purist to the Pirates I guess you could say, don't like seeing all the moves, although they certainly are good ones. Impressive considering he didn't move Kingham or Glasnow too.

EDIT: Good in terms of for the Pirates.

Well after that work and discussion about my Pirates franchise, none of it matters because I stupidly left my PS4 in standby to download something when I went to work and the damn storm knocked out the power and most of my save files have been corrupted which really sucks because of the time I spent creating the 2014 draft picks for each time. This time around I think I'm just gonna start my franchise with the normal osfm rosters and go from there.
It's been a very frustrating turn of events, maybe its a sign I was wrong about my trades being fair??? Haha I'll update you guys once I restart.

              Game 2: Lee vs. Lohse

After Tanaka proved to be just about unhittable in Game 1, it was Cliff Lee's turn in Game 2. If the Yankees can win this game, they'll have a chance to win the World Series at home. Lee has statistically been one of the better pitchers in postseason history. Like Andy Pettitte, the lefty has been lights out this postseason as well. The Brewers counter with Kyle Lohse, hopefully the Brewers offense can break out to make this a series. But against Cliff Lee, it'll be a tall order.

                  Quick Recaps:

                  Game 3:

                  Gallardo vs. Hammel

                  Brewers 3, Yankees 0

Gallardo stepped it up. I couldn't get a rally started to save my life. Each and every hard hit ball was right at somebody. When Gallardo came out of the game in the 8th, it was 1-0. After scoring well off the bullpen in games 1 and 2. No dice. The Brewers bullpen held it down and left me puzzled at the plate. With a win in game 3 the Brewers have made it a series again. Can Matt Garza rebound from his Game 1 debacle? Since Tanaka through roughly 150 pitches in Game 1, he will be unavailable for game 4. In his place, David Phelps gets the nod in game 4.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

Just a small update. I'm currently sitting at 75-52 with the Dodgers and leading the SD Padres by 6.5 games in the division and sporting the second best record in baseball. After heavily struggling the first 2 months of the season while both Yasiel Puig and Carl Crawford were out the team really took off once both returned, Dee Gordon has started hitting and kept hitting (#3 in NL in batting avg) and the deadline deal that brought in 2B Daniel Murphy from the Mets has really paid dividends. Only other moves that were done involved mainly prospects departing to bring in Murphy and Cliff Lee with Matt Kemp being shipped off to Boston for prospects as they were getting zero production from anyone in CF at the time. Sitting with 35 games left, a rotation of Clayton Kershaw, Cliff Lee, Zach Greinke, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Josh Beckett has been extremely productive but the bullpen has started to falter as Brian Wilson has been giving up runs in bunches and Kenley Jansen has blown 3 straight saves and is a mere 33/40 on the season. Should shape up for an interesting final run of the season and am in the middle of a 3 game homestand with San Diego (first game we destroyed them 13-2) and improved my record at home vs San Diego to 3-1 so a sweep here would put me 8.5 games up with 33 games left and while not completely out of the realm of possibility it would be pretty tough for them to catch me at that point.

I just had 3 games in a row in my Rockies franchise where I had a 3 run lead and my bullpen gave it up.

I'm thinking I'm going to definitely have to make a move for bullpen help at some point.

Alright I had to restart my franchise since I found a workaround for the Opening Day Glitch/1st Homerun/and messed up subrcripts glitches (if anyone is interested check the next patch thread for the workaround)

Decided to use the Arizona Diamonbacks

So far I am currently 2-1 on the season. Won my first game of the year in 12 innings with a walk off homer from Aaron Hill. 3-1 was the score.

Game 2 i got absolutely destroyed by the Dodgers in an 8-3 loss. Greinke went 8 innings. Danile Hudson struggled for me. He gave up 2 homers to Adrian Gonzalez and he gave up another one to Puig.

Game 3 the game was tied 1-1 up until the 6th inning and I just got to Bumgarner. He left a fastball right over the heart of the plate and I crushed it with Paul Goldschmidt. Goldy had 2 homers on the day and I finally hit one with Mark Trumbo as well. It was a rout 7-1 and I pitched a complete game with Brandon McCarthy.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

So, I decided to make a few moves to possibly help turn my Rockies franchise around.

Jhoulys Chacin's rehab stint is finished, he pitched extremely well in the minors so I brought him up to the rotation. Franklin Morales had another awful start so I moved him down to Triple-A to see if he can pick it up.

To beef up my middle of the bullpen a little more (since my starters struggle to get past the 5th inning consistently without being exhausted) I've decided to use LaTroy Hawkins as a middle reliever more and let Chad Bettis be my closer for the time being.

I also realized I had practically ZERO speed, so I moved Brandon Barnes down to Triple-A, and signed Juan Pierre to be my leadoff man. That move alone gives me an outflied of CarGo - Pierre - Blackmon, each of which can cover quite a bit of ground. Hopefully that helps my pitchers out as well.

That move also allows me to use an excellent platoon at first base with Michael Cuddyer (who destroys LHP) and Justin Morneau (who destroys RHP).

My phenom SS prospect Carlos Correa fractured his hand sliding into second and I'm pissed. He started off his career hitting .306 and looked to really help my team. His loss is huge as I don't have anybody who can provide offense at that position (now I need a 2B because Gonzalez moved to SS). My 2B position has hit around .200 with 0 HR's this season.
Correra just got injured for me also. He broke his forearm and is out for another 2 months. Its not that big of a blow because I have him in AA. I am going to suffer for another year with Villar and bring Correa up through the ranks this year, then in the bigs next year. I just hope it doesn't effect his progression.

Plus, defensively, he's freaking outstanding. But if you got a big prospect at 3B coming up, I can definitely understand trading him.

Also, just a suggestion, feel free to take it with a grain of salt, but with Foltynewicz lack of stamina to last past the 6th inning consistently, and with the Astros DEEP SP talent in the farm... Folty can turn into an outstanding closer for you. That's where he ultimately came up for me, and I definitely didn't regret it.
Dominguez racks for me to with a good glove, but he is below avg when simming. Last year he hit .255. So far this year, he his hitting .228 in 127 AB.

I move Foltynewicz to closer to. Like you said, Im stacked at SP. And not one closer in the minors. He is in AAA now. Tommy Hunter getting the job done in the majors now so im giving Foltynewicz time to grow.

Feldman, Collmenter, and Simmons are my best bullpen guys. I have no desire for any of the others to even step on the mound. I'm going to try and target some bullpen guys in free agency next year. I might even start trying to convert some of my arms to bullpen arms. The weakness of this group absolutely kills my team. So many times I'll lose a decent 3+ run lead because my bullpen gets rocked.

I might convert a guy or two who is struggling in a SP role
This +1000. This is my number one weakness. Every game becomes interesting. I cant hold a lead all.

At the moment my bullpen is:

                            LRP
                            Collin McHugh

                            CP
                            Tommy Hunter

McHugh was in AAA but Alex Cobb and Cosart both are out for the next couple weeks. So i moved Feldman, who was originally in the pen, to the starting rotation. Now I still have to move someone else into the rotation.

                            My rotation now looks like
                            :
                            Feldman

                            White
                            Olberholtzer
                            Clemens

I think it may be time for Appel to bring Appeal up for good. I just want to do it at the right time. I want to treat him like how the Astros did with Springer. Bring him up at the exact date to where he still wont have a full year on his service time, thus delaying his arbitration eligibility. I just don't know when the right date to do that is. Irl, Springer was called up in april, but he had no service time. Appeal has .027 due to a September call up last season. Im on May 15 right now. Am I past the date that I can call him up abs still not lose a year?

2 weeks into my Cubs Franchise and we're holding our own so far. 5-4 1gb of the Cardinals and heading into St.L for 3. Take the first 2 games 4-1 & 5-2 now in first by 1 and going for the sweep. Wacha was a beast in game 3 as he k'd 12 in a 2-0 Cardinal win.

                              Standings after the St.l series

                              Cubs 7-5
                              St.L 7-5
                              Cin 7-5
                              Mil 7-5
                              Pit 4-9

Feeling pretty good heading for the Bronx for a quick 2 game series. Cubs go up early 2-0 on a HR by Wellington Castillo. After a 3-3 tie in the 5th Junior Lake cracks his 2nd HR of the season to give the Cubbies a 4-3 lead which was short lived as Travis Wood fell apart and gave up 5 including a 3 run shot by Texeria who would add a 2 run HR later on as the Yanks crushed the Cubs 12-4.

My Yankees are about 6 games up in the East after the trade deadline but i'm probably going to sound stupid here but i'm not really familiar with the whole idea of Designating for Assignment, so does it make sense to DFA Matt Thornton who is struggling and down to a 68 OVR or just send him down to AAA.
                                Thanks
