Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

Best start ever for the show sitting at 11-2 with the DBacks, playing all games. I got the real Diamondbacks roster expect for one added player Blake Dewitt. I am not doing anything different this year on the show, for some reason the Diamondbacks are doing well for me this year.

I am not from Arizona so did not pick the Dbacks because of that.I use DD diffuilcty and it has me at Allstar + for pitching. So far my pitching staff is killing it. I am sure soon I will come back down to earth and start to struggle.

    Patrick Corbin 2-0 1.52 era
    Daniel Hudson 1-0 1.89 era
    Brandon McCarthy 3-0 1.99 era
    Wade Miley 2-0 1.84
    Bronson Arroyo 1-1 4.50 era

    Diamondbacks 11-2
    Padres 6-5
    Giants 6-6
    Rockies 5-7
    Dodgers 2-9 (lol)

The astros are also in first place in the AL west at 6-6. All the bad teams are doing well in my franchise and the good teams are towards the bottom. I think my franchise is broken

Can anyone help me with the trade block? I put a few guys on there and I can't figure out for the life of me how to adjust what I'm seeking/looking for in trades.

Ex: I put Bruce Chen on there and I was wanting an OF in return. How to I adjust that so other teams know?

When you are on the screen selecting who you want to put on the trading block, if you press to the right on the control pad, you can select the positions you are interested in trading for.

I ended up with 4 hits, two of them coming in the 9th.

Also, I had my most exciting game of the season in the 4th game of the season against the White Sox. Tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the 8th, I got two guys on with two outs and Moustakas proceeded to hit a 3-run blast to RCF. Ended up winning 4-1 and got Holland his 2nd save of the season.

This is easily the most fun franchise mode I've ever played. Coming from the XBOX and 2k, I'm completely blown away with the level of detail inside of this mode. If I even have the slightest desire to do anything, it's available for me to do.

Well, except firing Ned Yost. Stupid 2 year deals worth $4 mil.

You can fire Yost. Just go to the coaching staff and press X

Started my franchise. I have both Baltimore and Cincinnati as user controlled teams currently. Was thinking I would play the first 5 games with both teams then decide which direction I really want to go.

Started with a Win for both. 10th inning walk off for Demon Young and the O's. Manhandled the Cards with the Reds 6-2.

Tillman was dealing for BAL. Cueto struggled in the 6th. Couldn't do much with O's offense. Cozart and Phillips beastin in Cinci.

I know HOW to fire him. I just dont want the dummy to get paid for the last two years of his contract for doing nothing lol. Plus I make all the decsions now. He's just there to infuriate the media and fan base with his moronic comments.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

Doing an Oriole Franchise All-Star (hitting/pitching) some slider tweaks. Veteran analog throwing manual fielding, baserunning w/ assisted slides.

Season started out great swept the Red Sox to open the season. That would be the highlight of April sadly. I would go 9-15 the rest of the month. Got swept in Detriot, swept by KC at home, and while I did take 3 of 4 from Boston, I couldn't do much against the rest of the teams on my schedule.

I struggled with throwing errors early and I have 30 errors to lead the Majors. My Pitching isn't "bad" I have a team ERA of 3.88 Chris Tillman leads the team with an ERA of 1.82, next best is Ubaldo Jimenez at 3.19. Been some shifting around in the bullpen (4 blown saves) as it now features 3 lefties (Britton, Matusz and Patton), 3 righties (Stinson, Meek and O'Day) plus RH Tommy Hanson in the closer role (1-0 4.70 ERA 6 saves 7Ks in 7.2 innings). Team has given up 33 home runs. I tried to fix my walk numbers by lowering pitch accuracy and consistency and its is working. I have 48 as a team, which is a much better pace than before I tweaked sliders.

Offense has been a very up and down affair. Team BA of .236. Nick Markakis is in a prolonged slump hitting just .162 in the lead off spot (his BAPIP is .172) he just can't get balls to fall. Delmon Young has been equally disappointing hitting .161 and only .194 against lefties (with a contact rating vs Lefties of 82). My team lacked speed until Ryan Flaherety got hurt and I brought up Jemile Weeks, in 27 ABs he is hitting .370 and has an OBP .485 and 3 of the teams 7 stolen bases.

The power is starting to show though, Nelson Cruz has 8 HRs but only 15 RBIs as I can't get guys on infront of him, Chris Davis has 6, Matt Wieters also has 6 and has driven in 20 RBIs. JJ Hardy has gotten hot over the past week and raised his avarage from below .200 to .240. Hopefully the rest can keep it up.

So the record is 14-15 two games into May, in which I have started out 2-0 taking two from the Twins. Sit 5.5 games behind the first place Rays at 21-11. Team is 3.5 games out of the AL Wild Card. I have put Bud Norris and Miguel Gonzalez on the trade block, looking for an everyday 2B and/or an upgrade in the bull pen. I have Kevin Gausman in AAA Norfolk ready to come up. He went 3-0 with a 2.36 ERA 37K and 14 BB in 42 innings. Behind him is Dylan Bundy 2-2 4.01 40Ks 15 BB in 33.2 innings. Hunter Harvey is holding his own in AA he threw 42 innings for Bowie and was also 2-2 2.79 ERA which is pretty good considering how terrible the AA team is.
