So while pitching it's either on or off? Would've liked it for pitching as well.

Correct, I was kind of surprised they did not keep it consistent by offering it the same option set up while pitching.

What difficulty level do the developers use to adjust/make tweaks the game. I had noted in another thread that it seems to be all star??

Yes....I too have been asking for NRI's for quite a while. Some sort of "position battle" breakdown to go with it as well(and for your roster in general)....
Even if they just gave us access to the entire roster for ST it would go a long way.
I really don't like being limited to my 40 man roster for ST.

I wish we didn't have to use our whole 40 man, or use an option to send them back down. By year 3 , I have turn over my entire minors

By default it is not there when you are batting against the CPU. You have to hit R2 to bring it up. In some of the streams you can see this by seeng the R2 icon. It is static when you are pitching.

Is this a new thing? I like that a lot. So I can have it turned off for pitching and still bring it up while batting, with R2?

I am not sure if they are independent of one another. If you shut off the pitching it may also keep the CPU pitcher's repertoire off permantly as well. I did not test that out.

So there are a couple new pace of play rules that will surely have an impact on animations and presentation - a) The enforcement of batters having at least one foot in the box at all times and b) managers must initiate challenges from the dugout.

Is it safe to assume that these changes won't make the cut this year? I know Kirby talked about the challenge system in the last stream and how it hinges on a presentation package showing the manager coming out to argue, must be a bummer hearing about the new rules after working hard to incorporate the old ones.

Agreed. I think both of those things could have a place in two-player games, particularly online leagues... but I dont play online or 2-player so I have no desire to see it. Let me take my time and enjoy the game after a long day of work

I wasn't really talking about gameplay though, I specifically mentioned animations and presentation because if the rules are strictly enforced, then the challenge system in the game will probably have to be redone for visual accuracy. So basically its an aesthetics thing lol

And yes, I realize this is the gameplay thread but its the only real Q&A thread we have going

Didn't see that other thread, just checked it out and it looks like Ramone confirmed the new rules won't be in this year.

Will the Pirates have their helmets updated to the new matte black ones in the game?





Also in camp B.J. Upton now has Upton Jr. listed on his locker and on his jersey. Any chance of this update as well?

Those matte Pirates helmets are for Spring Training only.

I really hope the MLB doesn't implement quick counts in an attempt to draw in new fans haha.

ok during the last twitch feed part one they showed the menus.

in said menus it showed the shop,

$4 million budget increase
$22 million budget increase

and one more cant remember the amount...

so instead of 100 stubs giving us $20 Million, we will only be getting $4 million??

seems like a pretty drastic drop in amount to me...

It's 4, 22 and 48. How are you ascertaining the stub amount? I did not see any stub reference associated with those amounts.
