Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread

I made a CP and got drafted by the Mariners, which was awesome.

I decided to sim to 2016 and start in AA as a 19-y/o.

I'm at about the MLB ASB and I made the AA all star team. Hoping to get called up to AAA before the season is over.

Just pulled a rookie move. I went to delete something & accidentally my third baseman for the Astros who had just finished year five. Of course I didn't save it in the "cloud". So decided to start over as a center fielder. Went 3 for 9 in the showcase with 3 walks & 2 RBI. Was drafted by the Angels didn't really like that because of Trout. So I backed out & was drafted by my favorite team the Giants. They don't have any young outfield prospects. So I stuck with them since Their top four outfielders are in their 30s. I'll be focused primarily on contact, vision, discipline & fielding. I started out with 75 speed & 50 stealing. Good enough to be a threat on the base paths. I'm hoping guys like Posey, Crawford, Panik & Bumgarner stick around for a while & aren't traded.

Created a RTTS pitcher today. Maxed out FB velocity and dumped the rest into makeup.

I have the straight normal settings on All-Star difficulty.

Was drafted #1 overall by the D-backs after going through the showcase twice.

Turns out I've struck out over 100 batters in only 45 AA innings. They called me up to the ML level after only 7 starts.

Why would a team call me up with only a 70 rating?

Also, apparently velocity is king this year. I just blow guys away with my FB. My other 2 pitches are a knuckleball and circle change. It's ridiculously easy.

I struck out 10 guys in 6 innings in my first ML start.

        What the heck...

Find some sliders to make it more of a challenge.

And just got screwed by trades. Traded backup catcher Andrew Susac to the Yankees for Didi Gregorius. Then less than a week later traded Buster Posey to the Mets for David Wright & Zack Wheeler. There's no catcher on the MLB roster & Matt Duffy is starting there now that Wright took his spot at third base.

Try Armor & Swords sliders. I play them for my RTTS, and I love it. It really is a challenge to make it to the big's. Which is what I was looking for. I didnt want to make it up in half a season. I wanted to feel like I earned my way up.

Just got called up to AAA in mid August. I'm currently the set up man for the Tacoma Rainers. Hoping to be the closer in AAA by 2017.

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread

I've noticed I always make it to the pros fairly quickly. I don't necessarily want to struggle in AAA but I don't want to get called up as quickly as I have been so far in my experience with RTTS. I feel like I get called up too quick then struggle in the pros. That's not terrible, but I kind of enjoy the grind and easier games in AAA, so it's a bummer when half the time it only last 2 months of a season

Maybe I should just stockpile my training points more. That way my ovr doesn't shoot up as quickly and the CPU will be more likely to not call me up

After zooming through Double-A while hitting .368 and a plethora of stolen bases and triples, I'm really wanting to see a challenge in RTTS. I'm using TNK's sliders and it still seems way to easy to rack up points. Maybe RTTS is inherently easier than Franchise mode, so the sliders need to be tougher? At any rate, here's my attempt at some house rules.

                      1. Prospect must at least be 20 years old.
                      2. Can use all of the initial 500 points and all points earned in showcase.
                      3. Hit, play the field, run the bases. Do as much as you want or do as little as you want.
                      4. Skip all training sessions.
                      5. Can only spend a maximum of 7,000 points during the season. Training skills that have decreased back to breaking even does not count towards your 7,000 point maximum.
                      6. Until called up to AAA, maximum overall of 70. Until called up to MLB, maximum overall of 80.

My 6th round pick RP has made it to the MLB. I spent one year in the minors, made it to AAA in July. I got hit hard in ST 2016 but the Red Sox have kept me on the MLB roster to start the year.

Well as a follow up, I got demoted after the D-backs traded for Colon.

All's well anyways. Ended up with a 2.57 ERA in 6 stars and went 1-2 (D-backs suck). Found out that it wasn't as easy as I first anticipated. Apparently my 73 rating wasn't quite enough.

Though my first start in AAA was a 4 hit shutout and I struck out 13.

So I guess it's just the majors that gives me slight trouble.

After a terrible showcase (2-11, 2 SB, 0 HR/RBI) Germãn was drafted in the 5th round with the 1st pick by Arizona. He decided to go back to JuCo for a year and hone his skills.

He came back for the next years showcase and did a little better (5-16, 3 SB, 3 XBH) and was drafted with the 18th pick in the 4th round to the Yankees.

He signed and will bat 9th and play 2B for the Trenton Thunder.

Does buying equipment with stubs make any difference to your players performance? I'm tempted to get some of these items. What are the best ways to spend stubs on btw?
