Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread

A bit late in my guys career but figured I'd make a post.
Power hitting 1B currently in his second full MLB season.

Started off on the Diamond backs, played 40 games of Double-A hitting .333 with 15 home runs in 40 games before being called up to Triple-A where he played only 5 games hitting .350 with 2 home runs before being called up to the show.

In his call up season he played 85 games batting .250 with 19 home runs and 70 RBI.

Next year he was traded to the Red Sox due to Ortiz retiring and them having a hole at 1st base (didn't request a trade) and Arizona had Goldy. In 2016 he hit .245 in 152 games with 45 home runs and 98 RBIs while walking 112 times.

The Sox won over 100 games this season (Hanley Ramirez hit 54 Homers also) and they ended up beating the Pirates in the World Series.

    WAR
    2015: 1.4
    2016: 5.0

    Accumulated WAR: 6.4

In my RTTS, Toronto Jays sold every good player in the team. Reyes, Donaldson, Encarnation, Bautista, even Navarro. I can't ask to be sold as well ( don't know why, the option simply disappear in the Interaction Menu ). We end the first season 49-113.

Made a new player because I got bored with my center fielder. Decided to go with a third basemen this time. Switched up my setting & I'm doing zone with analog input. I feel like you have more say with zone compared to directional. I'm 32 games into the season. My contact is at 58 & power is at 30. Plate vision & discipline are at 60. Clutch is at 57. I definitely feel like you have more power using zone. I'm hitting .317 with 6 home runs & 23 RBI. I also have 11 doubles. Definitely more fun this way.

Does anyone play as a catcher? I've always wanted to do one, but I fear it will slow progress too much. I believe as of this year we now catch only when runners are in scoring position? Are there any other options?

I figure if I get into a career and tire of catching, I can always switch positions to 3B or RF to take advantage of arm strength. But if it's really a drag from the start, I might as well start somewhere else.

          Any input?

Right after my last post I went to play another game & was promoted to Triple A. I'm with the Astros by the way. I like their roster & they have a lot of good young players.

Went 1 for 4 with a double in my Triple A debut out of the lead off spot.

Decided to create another player yesterday ( 1st baseman / 3rdbaseman ), I played the Showcase and did pretty well but only got drafted in the middle 1st round by the Blue Jays since they have a good 1st and 3rd already I decided to go back to school for a year. Did very well again this time drafted #3 by the Rangers, signed with them. I was tearing up AA , BA .497 16 HR's 58 RBI's then all of a sudden traded to the Royals. Actually pretty happy about that and I will do my "Show" debut with the Royals tonight.

I just played the most frustrating game I've ever had. Led off the game against Yu Darvish on the road with an eight pitch at bat that ended with a triple. Next batter strikes out on three pitches. 3rd batter fouls out to the catcher. Chris Carter with his .198 batting average & 171 strikeouts in the cleanup spot also strikeouts on guns three pitches. Then to lead off the third I triple on the second pitch which was a slider. Next two guys walk. Chris Carter of course strikes out & so do the two after that.

Hello, here is my first post.

Decided to make a Starting Pitcher. Did mediocre in the Showcase, and was drafted in the second round by the Baltimore Orioles. I have a 2 seam fastball, slider, and a forkball. I pitched really well, and was called up to the AAA team because of an injury. In AA I started rough, but then pitched to consecutive complete games, allowing 1 run over 18 innings(a solo homer in the 9th). MY first AAA start wasn't great, but I made it through 6. I increased my sliders to make it more difficult.

                  Thanks.

Re: MLB 15 : Road to the Show Thread

I've been playing mostly with my Orioles SS for two weeks or so and it has been very frustrating. I'm the no.3 hitter so every time I'm at the plate I have to listen to "with the very dangerous Chris Davies blablabla". If he's hitting .226 he's not very dangerous is he? And the pitching! Jesus christ! If I hit a three run homer (a rarity since nobody gets on base) the opposing team immediately hits a grand slam. We're leading our division so it's not all bad but right now I feel like deleting all six save slots.

The frustration led me to play with my Cardinals SS and boy, what a difference! Now I can actually tag someone who tries to steal, something that has never happened in my two months as an Oriole, and I'm not the only one to drive in runs! And if it's a low scoring game the pitcher will actually carry the team. I'm done with my Orioles SS. I don't mind a challenge but this is getting ridiculous.

Pitching for the Dodgers in RTTS. How do I add another pitch to my player?

Go to training, then scroll down past your current pitches that you would upgrade and should be a spot to add new pitch, I believe it's 500 pts to add new pitch

I have a question. My SS was called up to the majors on May 19. How much MLB service time or games played must I have to be eligible for awards other than Rookie of the year and to be on the batting average leaderboard?

I don't know about the others, but to qualify for the BA, OBP, and SLG leaderboards, you must average 3.1 PAs per game for your team. (ex. 90 team games: You must have at least 279 PAs)
