Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

    Hey guys,
I need some help/advice with my franchise.
This is the first time I've bought and played the show this year and absolutely love it, but im a bit of a baseball novice when it comes to the in depth stuff (I know the basics).

I'm currently doing a franchise with the Phillies because I like rebuilding type scenarios.
I'm currently 34-50 (I play 1st game of every series). I'm playing on DD and enjoying it even tho I'm losing most games. One thing ive noticed is that there hasn't been any injuries and when I looked in the disabled list no team has any injuries. I checked the settings and injuries were on auto which I assume means they will happen. Is it weird there is no injuries at all?

I have made 2 trades so far and moved on Cliff Lee for Josh Collmenter.
The 2nd trade was Dustin McGowan & Rene Garcia for a propect RP.

The next thing I probably need to do is trade Hammels and maybe another older guy but im not sure who and what I should get for Hammels as he is a beast in the game. (I know this is more for the trade discussion thread, but can anyone recommend a decent trade).

    Any advice/help would be awesome.
    thanks guys

Hamels for OF Manuel Margot, SP Brian Johnson, 2B Sean Coyle might work

I simmed to the end of the season in my Rockies 'chise. It's coming down to the wire. I'm 87-75. The Cardinals have clinched the first WC spot. After being as far as 7 games back, my Rockies have had a great September, clawing their way to having a one game lead over the Giants and Brewers for the 2nd WC spot. I end the season with a three game road series at the Giants. I have a one game lead over them for the WC spot.

Arenado missed the whole season except for April. I was without Tulo from late April to late June. Jordan Lyles missed a lot of time, and overall we've been decimated with injuries. I'm amazed we should make the playoffs.

Made it to the ASG in my M's chise. Played every game so far, and an 2GB the Angels.

              My all stars:

              Felix (Starting P)
              Cruz (Starting DH, batting 4th)
              Cano (Starting 2B, batting 3rd)
              Seager (bench)
              Carson Smith (RP)

Carson Smith will definitely be my closer next year. He's got a chance at ROY but it's hard for a RP to win it.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

I am currently 2 weeks from September Call Ups. We are still 2nd in the Central trailing the Brewers by 4 games. I lead the wildcard over the Marlins by 1 game. Every NL Central team is in the playoff hunt. Pirates are 1 1/2 back of wildcard, Reds are 4 back, and the Cubs are 4 1/2 back. Craziness.

We are about to go on our west coast swing starting with San Diego.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Gotten off to a Great Start in 2015 with my Royals, 2-0 against the Chicago White Sox in the First two Games. The last one was a Nail biter and ended with a 9th Inning Walk Off Eric Hosmer Double. Made a Splash today by Signing Japanese Import Kenta Maeda to a Minor League Deal. Will be regularly updating Dynasty Nation once the New Site is up.

I'm thinking about Schwarber and Edwards from the Cubs in my Phillies franchise. Another possibility is a package involving Margot from Boston.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

I'm currently one week into June in my franchise. Control all 30 teams, but I play as the Yankees and Rockies. Usually alternate between them after I go through the one rotation one time, but also been playing random "Games of the Week" on Mondays.

For my Yankees, we currently sit at 29-25, 2 games behind Boston in the division and 3 out of the WC (which belongs to Oak).

I've had to deal with some pretty significant injuries throughout the year. Chase Headley broke his shin in April and is out til July at least, and Masahiro Tanaka has a torn shoulder, and wont be back til at least August (what a disaster!)

Thankfully, my pitching has held up. Pineda, Sabathia, and Adam Warren have all been very effective. Eovaldi has struggled the most, although I pitched well with him in his last start. The 5th starter spot has also given me issues - I had Bryan Mitchell from Triple AAA attempt to hold it down, but hes been getting lit up, so I'm allowing Ivan Nova to come back in a bit early than I planned (in real life hes coming back in June anyway). Hopefully he can solidify that back spot.

My hitting has been a bit inconsistent but certain guys are doing pretty well. McCann leads the team with 11 homers, while ARod and Tex each have 9. Surpisingly, Beltran leads the team with a .313 batting average, but he's become a bit of a singles hitter and only has 6 homers so far this year for me.

I'm really sad because my favorite player, Gardner, hasnt hit at all. I dont know what it is, I just cannot buy a hit with him. His BA is down to .200, although his OBP remains a respectable .328.

Not sure exactly what I want to do with the team at the deadline.

Other team is the Rockies. We're in 1st place in the very competitive NL West by a game over the Giants. The team is actually pretty fun - Carlos Gonzalez, Corey Dickerson, Charlie Blackmon, and Nolan Arenado have all been tearing the cover off the ball this season. Arenado in particular is really, really solid and is somewhat making a case for NL MVP - hes currently hitting .327/.488/.545 with 9 Homers and 39 RBIs.

I've also gotten by with some mediocre pitching, although it's probably the spot I'm most worried about. Kyle Kendrick and Triple AAA call up Gus Schlosser have pitched well, but everyone else has been pretty inconsistent. I'm most disappointed in Eddie Butler, who has an ERA close to 5. Gotta try and improve with him.

Thankfully, I have Jon Gray waiting in the minors (and he may get called up later this year), but I also think I'm going to go after a premier SP FA in the offseason. Maybe have Jordan Zimmerman leave Washington or something.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

15 games into season 2 of my "rebuild/retool" of the Braves. Even though I won the WS in Season 1 and I am doing okay in Season 2, I still have a few questions/holes. So I'm gonna lay out my plan/hopes here.

                        Current Lineup:
                        EYJr/Jackie Bradely Jr - LF
                        Andrelton Simmons - SS
                        Nick Markakis - RF
                        Freddie Freeman - 1B
                        Christian Bethancourt - C
                        Alberto Callaspo - 2B
                        Kelly Johnson - 3B
                        Cameron Maybin - CF

                        Rotation:
Julio Teheran, Alex Wood, Shelby Miller, Mike Foltynewicz, Matt Wisler
                        Bullpen:
Shae Simmons (closer), Brad Ziegler+Tony Watson (setup), Tony Sipp, Ivan Nova, and Jacob Lindgren (mid relief), Cody Martin (Loongman)

                        Prospects:
Mallex Smith (72 OVR B Pot) On the verge of a callup. He has done nothing but tear it up. Future LeadOff guy.
Jose Peraza (63 OVR B Pot) Got hurt for most of last year. On the verge of being a bust/disapointment
Rio Ruiz (65 OVR B Pot) Sucks. He cant hit and I cant hit with him. Need to trade him because he has no future with me.
Tyrell Jenkins (67 OVR B Pot). Dude is turning into a top of the rotation pitcher.
Dominic Peterson (60 OVR A Pot). First Round Pick. He has a ton of pitches and is very accurate. He gets some velocity and he is Kershaw Lite.
Ozzie Samuels. (65 OVR B POT). Comp pick. Markakis Clone.

I have a ton of space and a solid minor league system. I have a few cornerstones but I feel like I need at least 1 more allstar bat to turn me into a year in year out contender

4-1 so far with my rebuilt Astros

Trevor Bauer held us in check till the 9th inning when Evan Gattis hit a 3-run bomb to tie the game at 6, then in the bottom of the 10th Jose Miguel Fernandez hit the walkoff homer!

Grabbed him as an international free agent, and he is paying dividends. Homers in two of his first three at bats.

                            The Lineup
                            1. Altuve 2B

                            3. Inciarte LF (Had traded for Khris Davis to be starting LF, but he fractured shin in second game and is out for three months)
                            4. Carter 1B
                            5. Gattis DH

Started a franchise using OSFM V2 rosters,AS Hybrid QC sliders, and 30 team control. Randomly picked a team and got the Rockies. Oh boy. Currently 3-12 lol. Tulo and CarGo will be gone soon, for pitching, but to who and for who? Tulo I'd send the NYM, but not sure about CarGo.

Finally started my franchise using Willard's Revision Roster. Just doing single team control and hoping the CPU controlled teams don't do anything outrageously ridiculous.

Opening day I played 15 innings against the Rays. Took the lead in the 12th on a homer by Pearce, but gave up a home run in the bottom half to Jennings. The Rays walked it off in the 15th on an RBI single off Matusz.

Game 2 I was losing 1-0 in the 7th before I hit a two run pinch hit home run with Delmon Young on the first pitch. Gonzalez pitched 8 innings for me and Britton got the save one day after blowing his first chance of the year
