We actually weren't that bad the last 36 games. 23-13 since the beginning of June. 2nd place in the Central. 5.5 games behind Pittsburgh. And we currently lead the Wild Card. From June 4th to the 22nd we went 14-3. St Louis did the exact same including 11 straight wins from the 9th to the 20th. STL has since fallen off and is now in 3rd place. They are 1-8 in July.

Player keep stepping up on offense when we need them to. After Sardinas hit .58 in May. Adam Lind pretty much did the same. He ended may with a .270 AVG. He is now at .304. Since June 1st he has hit .357 with 4 HR and 18 RBI. Since June 9th that Jumps to a .381 AVG with a .456 OBP. Ryan Braun was a lot better as well. He ended May hitting .216. He is at .246 now. In June and July he has .286 with 7 HR and 24 RBI with a .363 OBP. Sardinas is still playing great. Hitting .319 with 4 HR. (he had 2 in his career entering the season). Braun is the only current starter hitting under .263. We have the highest team AVG in the majors (.268). 2nd in OBP (.330), 2nd in doubles, 3rd in triples, still only 26th in HR but we have the 6th most runs so we are scoring fine.

Starting rotation is still about the same. Brent Suter has been great. In 12 games he is 7-3 with a 2.59 ERA with 87 IP. Josh Johnson has a 2.96 ERA. But he is 1-4 since he gets no run support. Garza has a 3.19 ERA and Estrada/Fiers both have a 3.15 ERA. We sent Peralta to AAA. Not doing good there either.3-2 with a 4.67 ERA. Might be time for him to start over with a new team.

Bullpen was good. Now it kinda good. But not good enough. Brandon Kintzler has been the best reliever since he came up. 16 IP he has a 2.25 ERA. A 9 to 12 K to BB ration though. Jim Henderson is at 2.95, Fernando Salas at 3.25. Neal Cotts came back up on the 23rd of June. Hasnt been any better than he was thogh. Now has a 7.84 ERA. Sending him back down and calling up Jed Bradley. He has his ERA down to 2.55 with a 46/9 K/BB ratio. Hopefully he can reproduce what he did last year when he had a 1.53 ERA the 2nd half of the season. K-Rod has his ERA up to 3.21. Added another 12 saves, he is now at 29. On pace for 52.

AAA, Austin Beyer is hot again. Now hitting .302 with 12 HR and 54 RBI. Jackie Anthony has a 2.36 ERA. Wei Chung Wang has a 2.61 ERA.

AA, Victor Roache must have heard what i said about him not only being a ****ty AVG hitter but that he also was a ****ty power hitter now as well. He ended may hitting .213 with 3 HR. First game in June he goes 3-4 with 3 HR and 8 RBI. In His 29 games in June/July he has hit .308 with 9 HR, 26 RBI and an OBP of .356. I like it. Not alot going on with pitching in AA. Wirfin Obisp has given up 2 ER in 35 IP out of the pen.

All Star game was a pretty good. AL scored 1 in the top of the first. NL scored 1 in the 2nd. Then they scored 4 in the 4th thanks to a 3 run HR by Yasiel Puig to go up 5-1. But AL came right back in the top of the 5th. Brain Dozier took over for Cano and hit a lead off HR. And then a few batters later JD Martinez replacing Hanley Ramirez hit a 3 run HR of his own to tie the game. Was quite from there as the last couple starters and relievers shut things down until the 9th. Paul Goldschmidt coming in to replace Freddie Freeman hit a walk off HR on the first pitch he saw and the National League wins the all star game 6-5. First win for the NL since 2012.
curious -- how did you/do you make your tables with the stats/standings?

On the right side is a list of all the generators.

They havent been updated in a while so a few are a little out of date. For example with the standings the AL West is only 4 teams while the NL central is 6.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

The Marlins were dealt a blow to start the offseason, and it wasn't that the champagne was flat during the World Series celebration.

Promising young starter Andrew Heaney informed the organization that he has decided to retire instead of try to come back from his torn rotator cuff injury.

"I don't make this decision lightly, " Heaney said at a press conference, "I'm a young man that wants to have a lot of years in this great game and great city, but I don't feel I can give what the game, the team, and the fans deserve out there, so I take my leave from the stage."

Heaney is just 26 years old and coming off his best season in his young career where he posted a 2.10 ERA. He had fulfilled the promise of a young top-of-the-rotation starter, but the injury has taken that away.

The Marlins will have to decide what to do in the rotation. While deep in potential, Heaney was one of the few established arms in the rotation. Aaron Sanchez will likely move up to #2 spot. Beyond Boeve at #3, there's a lot of if-maybe-in-the-future talents.

The Marlins probably will not be seeking a top-flight starter, however. Chris Sale is a free agent, which is tempting to be sure, but he's already putting it out there that he wants $27 million/yr. The White Sox reportedly offered $21 million/yr.

          Contract News:

Steve Delabar accepted a 1-year deal worth 2.3 million.

Damian Boeve took a 1-year deal instead of letting things linger and risking a reduced renewable contract. Perhaps the youngster just wants to focus on baseball.

Hunter Harvery, Moses Bartlett and Tyler Kolek are among the young starters that signed their minor league tenders during the exclusive negotiation period. Harvery and Bartlett in particular could factor into next year's rotation.

Carlos Gonzalez rejected the Marlins' qualifying offer and has opted to remain a free agent. Reports are conflicting about how serious the Marlins will be in persuing him, given the emergence of Matt Baldwin, who can play CF well and shift Stanton to LF and let Yelich have RF, or vice versa. Considering CarGo's agent is talking about $30 million annual salary, the Marlins won't be giving him the time of day.

Considering the shake up in the rotation, the Marlins so far have not opened talks with Henderson Alvarez. Perhaps the inconsistent play and recent injury problems might have the Marlins hesitating.

          Other News:

The Rays jumped all over Madison Bumgarner, paying him $115 million over 5 years.

Brewers signed SS Jean Segura for 1 year at about $5 million to avoid arbitration.

          Trades:

The Nats might be serious about challenging the Marlins, perhaps seeing hope in the fallen arm of Heaney. The Nats picked up Joey Votto via a trade with the Twins.

          Potential FA targets:

There's some decent talents in the starting pitching pool if the team wants to seek an external addition to the rotation.

Clay Buchholz is out there with a decent starting number of about $9 million annual. He was also not tendered a qualifying offer, so no draft pick would be lost to sign him. However, he was 6-11 with a 4.38 ERA last season, not impressive.

Wade Miley is another reasonably priced option at $8.4 million/yr. Miley went 7-7 with a 3.37 ERA last season.

Hisashi Iwakuma is on the downside at 36 years old, but at $4.4 million, he might be the most sensible option if the team would like a veteran to hold the fort until they are certain one of the young prospects is ready.

In the bullpen, there's a plethora of options. Best among them is Jake McGee. The hard-throwing lefty had 36 saves last season and 30 the year prior.

Aaron Crow could be intriguing as well. He posted a 3.20 ERA with 90 strikeouts last season and is a well-rounded pitcher.

Should Marlins want to move Paco Rodriguez out of the closer role, a player like Glen Perkins or Houston Street could make that possible.

Other than that, the Marlins might not be making much noise in the market. The roster is pretty well set in general.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

At the end of April in 2016 and we are tied with the Pirates atop the Central Division. Playing very good baseball of late after we got off to a sluggish start. Injuries are bothering our team/organization, most notably being Carlos Martinez out about a month to 6 weeks due to Torn Finger Ligament. He was tearing it up leading the NL in strikeouts before getting hurt.

Good thing is that Tyler Lyons has taken his place and in one start he pitched extremely well against the Reds.

            On to May!

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Opening Day 2018 has arrived and Marlins look solid once again. They may not have the star power, but they have a lot of above average players on the field, should all go according to plan.

                Starting Rotation
                1. Jose Fernandez (4-3, 2.59)
                2. Aaron Sanchez (16-7, 2.81)
                3. Damian Boeve (19-4, 2.76)
                4. Hisashi Iwakuma (1-8, 4.21)
                5. Moses Bartlett (rookie)

                Bullpen
LRP: Clay Huff (3-3, 2.69 ERA)

                MR:
                Tim Collins (8-2, 1.52 ERA)
                Aaron Crow (6-6, 3.20 ERA)
                Cody Allen (6-3, 4.26 ERA)

                SU:
                Dominic Leone (5-3, 4.05 ERA)
                Steve Delabar (2-3, 3.14 ERA)

                CL:
                Paco Rodriguez (2-3, 40 Sv, 2.40 ERA)

                Lineup:
RF Christian Yelich (.312, 15 HR, 63 RBI)
                2B Chris Taylor (.270, 4 HR, 35 RBI)
                1B Chris Davis (.302, 51 HR, 146 RBI)
LF Giancarlo Stanton (.271, 32 HR, 82 RBI)
CF Matt Baldwin (.267, 16 HR, 44 RBI)
                3B Carlos Santana (.319, 30 HR, 80 RBI)
SS Donovan Solano (.278, 10 HR, 58 RBI)
                C Wil Moyer (.326, 13 HR, 42 RBI)

                Bench:
                C Tommy Cruz (.270, 6 HR, 28 RBI - starts vs LHP @ C)
RF Nori Aoki (.282, 13 HR, 76 RBI - starts vs LHP @ RF)
                IF/OF Jose Campos (.237, 11 HR, 33 RBI)
IF Adeiny Hechavarria (.228, 2 HR, 22 RBI)
OF Eric Young, Jr. (.261, 4 HR, 26 RBI)

While the offense is there, pitching and defense looks to be what the Marlins will rely upon again this year.

Last season, the Marlins averaged about 5 runs per game, a figure that looks to drop with the departure of Carlos Gonzalez and the likely regression from Carlos Santana and Will Moyer. If Chris Davis also pulls back (or gets injured), things could get messy. He alone accounted for 18% of the team's RBI and 11.5% of the team's runs scored.

If your metric of choice is Runs Above Average, Davis and Santana look even more important. The duo combined for 86 of the team's 183 runs above average last season. Carlos Gonzalez was worth 32 runs above average. That's a lot of offensive output in just three players, one of which is no longer with the team.

Highest WAR? Santana at 6.8. Davis is next at 6.1. Carlos Gonzalez was 3rd with an even 5.0.

The depth is improved on the offensive side as some established veterans were added to the team. However, the pitching depth remains high on potential but questionable as to current skills.

Overall, the Marlins should be strong contenders, especially if they stay healthy. They could be around the 100-win mark again this year.

                Over/Under: 95/105

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Doing something I've never done before. I've started a 2 team franchise. Choosing a team in the NL (Cincinnati) and an AL (Houston) team. I chose these two for this reason. I am a big Reds fan and since the NL Central doesn't play the AL West or East I chose a team that could be young and fun.

Right now I'm through Mother's Day playing every game. The Reds are 19-12 and 2 GB the Cubs in the Central. The Stros are 12-19 and 6 GB the Angels in the West.

So far it's been fun. No major moves for Cincinnati.

For the Stros I just sent Marsnick down as he's batting 0.190 and brought up A young kid who was on fire from AAA. Can't remember his name at the moment.

It's been a lot of fun and if you are wondering if these two teams wind up playing each other I've decided to play as the home team when/if they play.

The pitching, as expected, has been lights out. The offense, well basically the opposite. I win most games that I personally play like 3-1, 2-0, and those type of scores. I can barely muster any runs across the board. Duda has 20 homers, but only 45 rbi to show for it. I think as the trading deadline looms, I need to find an impact bat to solidify my playoff hopes.

I had to edit the code myself after making it. Might be hard to understand but ill try and explain.

Put the worst team in the AL west in the last spot for the NL Central. Once you are done filling everything out and you paste the code in the reply box here you want to look for this and copy it.

Start with the TR that is before the team name. And end with the /TR that is after the runs allowed. You then go find the 4th team in the AL West and paste what you copied after that team. And change evenrow to oddrow.

Ill make a video if you cant get it.

Thanks for the help. I will try it in a couple of minutes and see if I can get it. Thanks!

                          Edit: Thanks, it worked!

It is so boring setting opening day rosters for the 3rd time.

That is why when I start a season/franchise I make a save file of day one, when everything is set the way I want it and then put it on a thumb drive. That way if anything happens I don't have to do it all over again.
