This looks like a fun thread. I am beginning a franchise with the OSFM Fictional rosters soon. I will definitely post about it.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread
Pittsburgh Pirates 2015 Season
First Half Review
The Pirates behind first half MVP Andrew McCutchen sit on top of the NL Central at 49-39, the Central will be a tough to hold onto with the Cubs (48-42), and Cardinals (47-43) breathing down the necks. The Brewers sit at 7 games back, and the Reds are just 8 back can't be counted out just yet.
If the Pirates want to keep it's post season hopes up it'll need Gregory Polanco (.265 AVG) to turn it around after having a hot 2 months he's had a June and July to forget about.
The starting pitching will also need Gerrit Cole to get back on track after starting the year 7-1 record but has loss 3 of his last 5 starts. Cole still holds down a 2.74 era. Jameson Taillon who replaced Vance Worley in the rotation is 2-0 with a 1.55 ERA in 3 starts), Worley has adjusted nicely coming out of the bullpen. Liriano & Burnett have been great also but the bullpen has cost them a few wins both should have 10 wins each but due to the bullpen being pretty awful Liriano (8-6, 3.11), Burnett (9-3, 3.32). Nothing much to talk about outside of Tony Watson (1.41 ERA). We've been in some trade talks for a closer as Mark Melancon spots a 6.00 ERA and has been removed from the role.
Down On The Farm
The Pirates Triple A team is 48-44 in 1st place on the IL West division, Jose Tobata (.323, 40 H) returned from a early season injury to carry the load, the offense though ranks dead last spotting a .229 team average, the pitching staff behind Brandon Crumpton (10-7, 1.45 ERA), Nick Kingham (7-6, 1.78 ERA) & Charlie Morton (7-5, 2.98 ERA) are pretty much carrying this team to keep them on top of the division.
The Pirates Double A team is 40-51, 16 games back in the EL western division and will likely not be seeing any post season action unless the offense starts to find it's mojo, Tyler Glasnow the top prospect in the system is 8-6 with a 3.33 ERA and 2nd in double a with strike outs with 134. Keon Broxton (.270, 6 HR, 38 RBI) has been our best bat, hopefully Josh Bell and Kelson Brown can help out after slow starts.

Welcome Back Johan
Just wanted to throw this out from my 1 team (NY Mets) franchise control. The Toronto Blue Jays activated Johan Santana to their 40 man active roster and called him up due to the number of injuries to their staff. Well he pitched well against Boston and got the win. Always will have a soft spot for him.Attached FilesComment

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread
Just into May my 30-team control Cubs Franchise, currently sitting at 11-15 on a 4-games losing streak. My starting pitching has been absolutely horrendous. Only Arrieta has an ERA under 4.00. I was struggling to hit with Kris Bryant, then all of the sudden I hit 5 HRs with him in a 5 or 6 game span. Then of course he gets injured trying to make a diving play. Luckily it was on the short end of a 3-4 week injury (figured that out b/c one day after the injury it switched to a 2-3 week one. All my prospects started out really cold so I couldn't call any of them up for immediate help...so it might be a dismal 2-3 weeks in my virtual Chicago!
Outside of the Cubs: Kershaw is putting up IMPOSSIBLE numbers: has a 0.22 ERA through his first 5 starts!Last edited by CBoller1331; 06-14-2015, 12:44 PM.Chicago Cubs

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread
No I'm using the regular OSFM one....i think V2...so he has SCEA ratings (pretty sure). I started this one before Willards came out and haven't got around to starting a new 'chise since I'm invested in this one. Kinda cool to see the computer have him dominate though. Usually they have very conservative stats, and I'm sure even his will even out eventuallyChicago Cubs

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread
Let me just say. The d'backs are impossible to sim franchise with. Goldy is the only hope and he gets injuries every season. Ended up trading him in the third year to the Braves for Shelby Miller and Freddy Freeman (both tearing it up). My only all star selection seasons 1-2 was Jared Saltalamacia. Are you kidding?
there is a reason they had the #1 overall pick in this years draft, you certainly don't get that pick for being good, but give them a couple years to build around Goldy through the draft and free agency and they could be a pretty ferocious team in the next couple of years with some of those pitching prospects they havePSN: lxl_Porta_lxl

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread
Just got to the All-Star game break in my first season with the Astros.
I spent the first month evaluating the rosters, and then swung the axe on a few blokes.
First off, I elevated Brett Oberholtzer, who was on the A list, to be my go to relief pitcher.
I started to trade out some under performers, and trade in some younger/cheaper guys, to prepare for the future. I don't think 2015 will be the year we win the World Series.
This is all out of order because its hard to remember, but -
Outs -
- 1B Chris Carter (just wasn't hitting anything, Avg under .200)
- 3B Luis Valbuena (same as Carter, no production)
Potential Outs before trade cutoff (for the right offer) -
- C Jason Castro (no production)
- RF George Springer (ok hitting, too inconsistant)
Ins -
- 3B Matt Dominguez (brought up from AAA)
- 1B Max Muncy (traded in from Oakland) 4 homers in his first week.
- LF Corey Dickerson (traded in from Colorado, Chris Carter trade) Leading the country in batting average, 3rd in HRs and in the lead for MVP.
- RP Grant Balfour (traded with Tampa Bay) Bit of Aussie loyalty.
Currently sitting 2nd in the American League West about 5 wins back from Seattle.Comment

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread
The Marlins might be "guaranteed" to play in the playoffs, but injuries are taking a bite out of who might be available to play.
SP Andrew Heaney will miss the rest of the season with a torn rotator cuff. The Marlins will have to hope it doesn't jeopardize the nice development pace and production the young pitcher was displaying.
C Will Moyer's solid season probably is at an end as well. He tore his groin and might be out up to 8 weeks. If it's on the longer end of that timetable, he, too, will miss postseason action.
For the catcher situation, the team will call up Christian Bethancourt. The organization does have 19-year-old Lindsey Robertson, who certainly seems ready, but the Marlins want to see Robertson improve his defense a bit more, especially with his throwing. At the plate, Robertson seems just fine as evidenced by his .311/.399/.481 hitting line in 366 ABs for AAA New Orleans.
Tommy Cruz will take the full-time duties behind the dish. Cruz has shown some difficulties offensively with an inconsistent ability to hit the ball hard. For someone who won't be hitting many home runs, he hits far too many fly balls. Defensively, he has a very strong throwing arm, but it can be inaccurate as well.
On the pitching side, there won't be a call-up. Josh Hader will fill the void in the rotation, and, if need be, take that spot's next turn if Henderson Alvarez has not been cleared to play. Alvarez is expected to need about 5 more days of rehab before being cleared, so Hader might get one start.
Granted, Alvarez is no Heaney, so the playoff rotation is weakened even if Alvarez stays healthy. Considering he's been on the DL twice already this season, that's not a sure bet in and of itself.Last edited by KBLover; 06-15-2015, 02:53 AM."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread
Spring Training of year 2. We are 2-0 thus far with wins over the Marlins and the Astros. We had a semi-successful offseason as we brought in Andrelton Simmons to be our everyday SS. We traded Peralta and 2 A potential prospects to Atlanta for him. I was surprised they made the move, but they have a SS in their farm system that will compete with Peralta to be the everyday SS.
We failed to sign anyone for our bullpen so we are now trying to go through ST and put the pieces together there. Siegrist, Maness, Walden, and Rosenthal all return, but we have 3 spots to fill.
Also searching for a backup catcher to Molina, backup infielders, and outfield. We are also trying to determine what we're going to do in LF as Holiday regressed quite a bit. We thought about trading him over the winter, but nothing developed that I liked. So we will see what he does in the Spring and go from there.
Our rotation seems to be in order as Wainwright, Lynn, Wacha, Garcia, and Martinez. We signed and traded Lackey to the Twins for LHP Nick Burdi to try and add depth to in our organization at the relief pitcher spot. We also were able to resign Heyward to fulfill RF, and keep Arenado at third.
Our "everyday" lineup as of March 5th is:
2B Matt Carpenter
RF Jason Heyward
LF Matt Holliday
1B Matt Adams
C Yadier Molina
3B Nolan Arenado
SS Andrelton Simmons
CF Jon Jay
Pitcher Spot
So many decisions to make this Spring.Last edited by countryboy; 06-15-2015, 08:00 PM.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
