Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Hey all. Starting up a Rockies franchise and hope to repeat the success I had in my trial run with the Royals (WS Champs!)

I'll be updating this every 10 games for the Rockies and will take a look at the AAA & AA level once a month and let you guys know how they are progressing and any rookies are really laying it all out at the lower levels.

(Side note: I'll be playing this franchise with TNK's sliders version 2.0)

First things first an Injury report:

Lost Carlos Gonzalez during the Spring to a torn hamstring with an estimated time of 2-3 months on the DL. Silver lining here is that he was injured in the early spring so the Rockies are expecting him to be back by mid-May/late-May at the latest. As a result rookie prospect Kyle Parker was called up and he'll be playing RF for a while in a platoon with Brandon Barnes (who had an excellent spring with 14 XB hits)

Beyond that everyone else is healthy, including Tulo, so it shouldnt be a bad year. The rotation will shape up to be this:

    Jordan Lyles
    Tyler Matzek
    Kyle Kendrick
    David Hale
    Jorge de la Rosa

Matzek and Lyles will essentially have to be the anchors at the top of the rotation because I'm unsure how the rest of the rotation will fare across the year (especially de la Rosa who finished spring training with an inflated ERA of 7.50).

Hope you guys enjoy this and onward we go to Milwaukee for the first series of the year!

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Well, my 2015 season with the Mets has come to an end, and all I can say is: pitching rapes in this game. I finished at 101-61, yeah who would have thought the offensively challenged Mets won 101 games and had the best record in all of baseball. It is awesome getting to see playoff baseball in Flushing though. Facing the Nationals who beat out the Dodgers in the wildcard game.

Some stats now that I'd like to show:
1st in ERA, Shutouts, Runs Allowed, Hits Allowed, HR Allowed, Walks Allowed and Pitching Strikeouts
      14th in Batting Average
      18th in Runs
      3rd in Stolen Bases (somehow)
      24th in OBP
29th in Errors (everytime I played there was an error somehow)

      Granderson (RF) - .263/.354/.506 27HR 75RBI (124 games)*
      Murphy (2B) - .294/.329/.369 3HR 27RBI (106 games)*
      Wright (3B) - .260/.316/.462 24HR 81RBI (159 games)
      Duda (1B) - .276/.341/.540 42HR 99RBI (152 games) (breakout hitter)
      Cuddyer (LF) - .260/.304/.399 13HR 61RBI (147 games)
      Flores (SS) - .275/.326/.408 10HR 34RBI (95 games)*
      d'Arnaud (C) - .260/.310/.382 11HR 38RBI (125 games)
      Lagares (CF) - .276/.325/.386 6HR 49RBI 33SB (145 games)

      deGrom - 18-4 2.33 ERA 206 Ks (breakout pitcher)
      Harvey - 12-7 2.05 ERA 263 Ks
      Wheeler - 9-7 2.82 ERA 159 Ks*
      Neise - 11-8 2.45 ERA 172 Ks
      Colon - 7-5 2.56 ERA 87 Ks*
      Syndergaard - 5-4 3.43 ERA 123 Ks
      Matz - 3-2 2.72 ERA 44 Ks

      * = saw time on DL

deGrom won the Cy Young and Duda almost won the MVP (3rd place)
The only trade I made was Gee to TOR for Roberto Osuna in March and I DFA'd Alex Torres cause he sucks. Familia turned into my closer around July and snatched 20 saves. deGrom and Harvey were my lone reps at the All Star game. At the end of September, we really turned it on and lead the Nats by 7 games at the end of the year.

      NYM vs WAS
      MIL vs SF
      LAA vs NYY
      BOS vs DET

Will edit once I play the playoffs.

Just drafted a RP/2B. Never seen that before. Has anyone else drafted guys that can pitch and field?

This guy has 75 strength and 70 accuracy, but his fielding attribute is a 0 and his hitting is basically non-existent too

Yeah I've seen a lot of pitcher/fielders but they can never actually do both. I haven't seen a pitcher with any hitting attribute above 5 out of drafted players.

Playing a Mets franchise, it's the home opener. Bartolo Colon hits a home run off Aaron Harang to score the game's first run.

Harvey (strained bicep) and Niese () got hurt in their first starts and are on the 15 day DL. I don't want to call up Syndergaard or Matz quite yet so I traded two minor prospects for Seattle's JA Happ.

After playing many games to feel out the game and settling on sliders and a roster (WTNY's) I have finally started up my Mets chise. On Opening day I was shutout (our virtual offense sucks too!) by the Nationals and Scherzer was dominant racking up 12 k's while going the distance. At some point I am going to have to add a bat.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

After blitzing through the final 2 months, and winning the NL Central in a landslide, my Pirates have now dispatched the Nationals in 3 games in the NLDS. Every game was a nail-biter, with the last game being the only one where I could tear things open and win 7-1. I just finished up Game 1 of the NLCS, and that was a nail-biter too until the 7th when I finally got a base knock against deGrom. The Mets pulled him and I went off on the pen, scorching hit after hit, tallying 5 runs in route to a 5-1 game one victory! The playoffs are so addicting in this game, I want to keep playing but am taking time in-between games to enjoy it.

Here's to the next 3 victories and an appearance in the WS!

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

We have ended the month of June in 2016 and are sitting at 40-41 but only 3 1/2 games behind the Pirates and only 6 games out of the wildcard. I kind of feel like the Tigers in the sense that I wonder what I should do for the trade deadline. Obviously I have 4 weeks of baseball left to decide what's best for our club, but it will be here before I know it.

One thing right now is our bullpen is killing us. Unable to keep leads, putting us further in the hole, you name they've done it here this month.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Absolutely frustrated. Lost 6 out of the last games. 5 of those loses have been by 1 run.

Seems the cpu has no issue hitting Betances and Miller. The notorious Jordan Schafer who can't hit lefties turns into Mickey Mantle against Andrew Miller.

Betances gives up another 2 HRs. One to Brock Holt and one to Hanley. Guess 85 k/9 and 83 hr/9 don't mean anything.

                              2-10 in my last 12.
