Don't worry, Juan Lagares did that on me in Game 3 of the NLCS, for his first hit of the series. Walk-Off fashion too.

Finally started my Tigers Franchise. I've gotten off to a brutal start at 7-11, but have won 3 in a row and sitting at 10-11. I moved some players around in the lineup and since then everyone has taken off. Have 1 game left against the Twins then a 4 game set in KC headed into May.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Finished April at 20-8, but if that kind of record can be "ugly", the Marlins have achieved it.

A lot of the offense is from Chris Davis having another killer April. Last year, he dominated April by batting over .400 with double digit HR. This year, he's at .390 with 8 HR.

The rest of the offense has been hot-and-cold (and sometimes dealing with nagging minor injuries). Matt Baldwin's sophomore season has been terrible so far. Damian Boeve has been losing it to end the month. Knuckleballer Moses Bartlett has been up-and-down.

The bullpen is a sore spot (always seems to be). Most of the arms there have underperformed. Tim Collins is one of the few that's been on the ball consistently. New acquisition Aaron Crow hasn't been bad.

Marlins got a scare when Jose Fernandez had to leave the game after pulling something during his delivery. Luckily, it was just minor stiffness. Last year, the Marlins lost Fernandez for the whole season.

(Saw people talking about the Mets above - they are currently on a 13-game losing streak in my franchise...of course that means they will probably win the series I'm having with them lol)

            <table><td bgcolor=#0B2351>End of August - 2015</td></table>

Things have gotten extremely interesting. Didnt have that great of a first half. Going 42-48. A 13-26 stretch from June to the break really hurt us. But we have fought back hard. After going 3-7 to start the 2nd half. We traded Aramis Ramirez to the Giants in the middle of a series against them for Trevor Brown. We were 45-55 and things just didnt look good. Since then though we have went 21-9 including 20-6 in August and have won 18 of our last 21 games to bring us to 66-64. And with the Pirates and Cardinals struggling we are now 3 games back of 1st in the division and 4 games back of a wild card spot.

Of the teams ahead of us in the division the Cardinals have lost 5 in a row (13-15 in August) Pirates have won 2 in a row but are 5-5 in their last 10 (14-14 in August). And the Cubs have made a run to get into contention. They have lost 2 in a row but just finished a 9 game win stream and went 19-9 in August.

            MLB Standings
            Spoiler

Offense has continued to be pretty consistent. We are 3rd in AVG at .268. 1st in doubles at 274 (in the 40 games since the AS break we have AVG 2.52 doubles per game). Slugging % has barely changed .419 good for 8th in the league. And we are 12th in the league in runs with 529 (AVG 4.5 per game since the break).

Lucroy has taken his foot off the gas a bit. Still hitting .335/.385/.516 with 17 Hr and 69 RBI. Has already passed his HR totals from last year and has the same amount of RBI. Unless he gets hurt he should set a career high in HR and probably RBI. Carlos Gomez is hitting .309/.351/.529 with 18 HR, 58 RBI and 26 SB. He has 7 HR and 27 RBI since the break. Ryan Braun is hitting .277//.341/.523 with 23 HR and 72 RBI. Adam Lind has been hot lately. He has his AVG up to .276 with 17 Hr and 74 RBI. Scooter Gennett is hitting .285, Jean Segura .254, luis Sardinas replaced Ramirez and is hitting .252. Gerardo Parra is hitting .249. Might start platooning him and Khris Davis again. Davis has been pretty good off the bench recently and is hitting .246 with 13 HR. His OBP is 34 points higher than Parra's as well.

Pitching has been weird. Giving up 3.5 runs per game since the break. But the pen is just ridiculous right now (aside from K-Rod). Garza leads the rotation with a 2.77 ERA. Only 4 wins in 17 games though. Nelson is 11-6 with a 3.09 ERA. Mike Fiers has a 3.98 ERA. Peralta has been better but still struggling at times with a 4.44 ERA. And Taylor Jungman has started to wear down. Has a 4.24 ERA now. Was under 4 at the break. And under 3 going into July. Kyle Lohse hasnt shown that he can be any better now (5.31 ERA) so i might give Tyler Cravy a start once the roster expand (which they are supposed to do now but you still cant call up anyone till the minor league season ends which is stupid).

Bullpen is doing things i never thought it could do. Tyler Thornburg, Neal Cotts,Will Smith, Jim Henderson and Johnathan Broxton all have an ERA at 2.52 or lower. And Corey Knebel has a 1.60 ERA and is now our closer. Since taking that role he has appeared in 12 games. Has 10 saves, no earned runs and a 0.51 WHIP. K-Rod has pitched better since moving from the closer role but still has a 5.83 ERA in 41.2 IP. 8 blown saves was just to much to deal with.

            In AAA

OF Ben Guez has had a pretty good year. He is hitting .282/.365/.483 with 17 HR and 56 RBI. 3B Chris Nelson is hitting .287.339/.390 with 6 HR. OF Shane Peterson is hitting .264/.323/.392 with 12 HR. Trevor Brown since going to AAA when we traded for him is hitting .273/.350/.352. In AA with SF he hit .311/.400/.455 with 5 HR.

SP Tyler Cravy is 8-10 with a 2.76 ERA. Again eh will probably get a start once the AAA season ends. Wei Chung Wang is 5-7 with a 3.65 ERA. Hiram Burgos, Tyler Wagner and Brent Suter all have an ERA in the 3.90's. RP Michael Kirkman has 30 saves in 39 games. 6 blown saves. RP John Ely has a 2.75 ERA in 78.2 IP. And RP Mike Strong has a 2.27 ERA in 39.2 IP.

            In AA

Not to many hitters with notable number. 19 year old 3B Tucker Neuhaus is hitting .289/.364/.368 with 4 HR. Next best is IF Brandon Macias hitting .271/.328/.323 with no HR in 269 at bats. Victor Roache has 21 HR but hitting just .209/.298/.398. Encouraging is C Cameron Garfield. In 50 at bats he is hitting .340/.400/.480 with a HR and 4 2B.

SP Drew Gagnon has a 2.55 ERA in 8 starts.RP Nick Additon has a 2.55 ERA in 40 games. Of the other starters 2 have an ERA above 4 and 2 have an ERA above 5. So it wasnt pretty down there this year.

            Around the Majors

Buster Posey (.346) and Victor Martinez (.328) lead in AVG. Jose Abreu (36 and Andrew McCutchen (32) lead in HR. McCutchen (97) and Miguel Cabrera (95) lead in RBI. Mike Trout (.998) and McCutchen (1.086) lead in OPS. (Yadier Molina is hitting .350 but was hurt for a while so he doesnt qualify)

Max Scherzer (2.05) and Corey Kluber 1.60) lead in ERA. Scherzer (203) and Kluber (196) lead in strikeouts. Scherzer (1.04) and Adam Warren (1.05) lead in WHIP. Cody Allen (47) and Drew Storen (41) lead in saves.

Of the few trades i did. Ramirez to SF for Trevor Brown - Ramirez was .252 with 6 HR before the trade. Now he is hitting .269 with 11 HR. Re did the Kazmir to Astros deal. Kazmir was 7-9 with a 4.14 ERA before the trade. He is now 10-11 with a 4.21 ERA. And i sent Reddick to the Mets. He was hitting .249 with 111 or 12 HR. Hasnt gotten much better hitting .248 with 14 HR. But Mets are still in a Wild Card spot and Granderson is still only hitting .219 so it was worth the upgrade.

            Some injuries for contending teams.

Mookie Betts is coming off the DL soon for Boston. He has been out since a few days before the AS break with a Torn Groin. He is hitting .285/.365/.408 with 5 HR in 81 games.

Josh Donaldson has missed the last 31 days and will miss at least the rest of the regular season with a Torn Finger Ligament. Could miss most of the playoffs as well if the Jays make it. He is hitting .287/.365/.529 with 20 HR.

CJ Cron has been out for 41 days and will miss the rest of the regular season and possibly most of the playoffs with a Torn Finger Ligament as well. He is hitting .247/.303/.363 with 9 HR. Garrett Richards was hurt a week ago and will miss the rest of the regular season and possibly most of the playoffs as well with a Broken Forearm. He is 8-9 with a 3.01 ERA.

George Springer will be out for 1-2 weeks with a Sprained Ligament in his Knee. He is hitting .231 with 24 HR. Carlos Correa is out 1-2 weeks as well with an MCL sprain. Hitting just .187 with 2 HR. Only played 23 games though. Jake Marisnick has been out for 2 months and will miss the rest of the eyar with a Torn Achilles. He wa hitting .275 with 7 HR in 88 games.

Doug Fister has missed 2 weeks and is out for 2-3 more weeks with a Fractured Forearm. He is 9-8 with a 3.83 ERA.

Matt Harvey is done for the year after tearing his Rotator Cuff 2 weeks ago. He was 13-7 with a 3.33 ERA. Steven Matz will return in 1-2 weeks after Fracturing his Shin in his 2nd game and the day before the AS break.

Gregory Polanco is out for the rest of the year after tearing his MCL in June. He was hitting .269 with 8 HR.

Season looks to be interesting for the final month. 17-18 teams all with a fairly good chance to make the playoffs if things go right for them. NL Central (as always) with an extremely close race. 4 of the 5 teams within 3 wins of each other. 19 of our last 32 games are on the road. Gonna be tough.

99 games in, playing real time, and my Tigers have the exact same record as the real life team at 49-50. We're also the exact same distance out of a playoff birth.

I'm sitting at 65-35 with the Padres, 10 up in first over LA.

Just about at the trade deadline and I'm stuck on what to do.

Go forth with my team and lineup as is, or wait for this week and follow the moves we make IRL. But up so high and in the playoffs barring a major collapse, not sure if I want to deal Upton etc

I want to play so bad right now. Need to go through and adjust all the POT for the minor league pitchers based on their performance this season though. Its gonna take awhile.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Took advantage of the Pioneer Day weekend here in Utah to finish off my first season with the Bucs. Started it off by sweeping the Nats in the NLDS, taking game 6 on home field of the NLCS against the very, very, pesky Mets before dispatching the New York Yankees to bring the World Series title back to Pittsburgh! This is the first time I've finished off a season in The Show that actually felt real, the last time I finished it off by simulating July-September and the playoffs to get to the clinching game. I've never been more pumped when it comes to a baseball video game.

Of course, now comes the offseason, going to shore up my long relief and try and make a big move for a #2 behind Gerrit Cole. Have to enjoy these next 2-3 years because pretty soon this team is going to cost too much field without splitting it up.

                        Here's to repeating in 2016.

                          CF Cody Campagna

                          Rotation:

                          Sonny Gray
                          Carlos Martinez
                          Brett Anderson
                          Carlos Rodon

Familia is my closer with Justin Wilson and Jordan Walden setting him up.

Facing the Mariners in the ALDS, Down 0-2 facing elimination.
I'm up against King Felix(who just won Cy), first inning one out Holt is at the plate, chops one back to Felix and it hits his pitching hand. He goes down and eventually taken out of the game. HUGE BREAK FOR ME!

I did end up winning 3-1, now I face elimination again and (hopefully) a 3rd time to move on.

RA Dickey is officially the pitcher I hate playing against the most. Opening day of a Yankees 'chise. Dickey had a no hitter until a Beltran single in the eighth. He also struck out nine and didn't give up a walk. Ryan Goins hit two doubles, and Justin Smoak and Danny Valencia each hit a solo homer. Dickey finished with a 9.0 IP, 1 hit, 0 R, 0 BB, 9 SOs stat-line.

Tanaka went seven strong innings, giving up 4 hits and just 2 runs while striking out 10 Jays. Justin Wilson worked 0.1 inning and promptly gave up a solo homer. Betances pitched 1.2 innings and gave up 1 hit, no runs and struck out 2. A-Rod went 0-3 with three strikeouts in his first game back. Damn RA Dickey.

Welp, managed to accidentally override my Mets Franchise save file with a practice Athletics one. There goes all that hard work. Guess I'll start one over now with newer and updated rosters.

But not for like another week cause still kinda pissed.
