It's time for another fantasy season league leader update going into tonights action between the Pirates and Cubs. What do you guys think of these leaders...and teams!

25-23 in my first year Jays franchise! Castro leading the league in saves. Just can't seem to get on a roll basically win one lose one. Offense is firing on all cylinders love having Jose/Edwin/Donaldson together. For some reason just awful pitching with Hutchinson but beasting with Buerhle and Stroman. Dickey is out 2 months. Loving this game!

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Just had my draft in my first season w/ the Braves. I had a glitch occur when the guy I wanted to pick wasn't in the prospects. So i figured he dint enter the draft. Then in the 2nd round, he was picked by the DBacks. I don't know what happened because he wasn't available for me to pick. Regardless, I had a pretty good draft. I would give it a B grade. Here is who I selected.

            1st- Dominic Peterson LHP/19 YR/60 OVR/A POT. Big Lefty w/velocity+break.
Comp- Ozzie Samuels RF/21 YR/60 OVR/B POT. Solid all around prospect.
2nd- David Stone RF/19 YR/54 OVR/B POT. Plus plus arm and speed. No bat.
            3rd- Jason Phillips C/20 YR/56 OVR/B POT.Great contact+arm. Also plays LF.
4th-8th I went all relievers. All were 50 OVR with C or D potential. Partly just for depth and also because I am lacking a closer in the minors and hope one of them turns into a half decent one.

Overall this was a pretty good success. The Braves already have a ton of pitching prospects so I can be patient with Peterson and wait for him to turn into a stud. I picked up 3 MUCH needed bats because the system needs hitters. All 3 hitters i took look to be solid players that have room to grow but should be ready relatively quickly. Now on to the summer! Sitting at 33-20 w/ a 4 game lead over the Nats. Just gotta avoid a trademark Braves collapse.

Haven't started my franchise yet, really struggling to pick a team. Trying to be a playoff contender in 2016 and beyond so I don't want a complete rebuild. Also want a young core to build around and maybe some veterans to trade away for younger players. I'm thinking Braves, D-Backs, Rays or White Sox. Could use some help picking one of them or other teams I could be.

              What team should I choose?

              Thanks in advance

I am going to go with the giants because they are my team but I haven't started yet to busy watch NBA playoffs right now. I would say go with the team out of those 4 teams that you think has the best ball park.

Young players to build around and old guys to trade away...The Cubs.

Just started my Yankees franchise yesterday. I beat the Blue Jays 3-2. Tanaka pitched 6 innings with 6 hits and 0 earned runs. At one point slithering out of a bases loaded 1 out jam. I started out the game on fire at the plate, scoring 2 runs in the first off an Ellsbury triple and a Beltran Homerun. RA Dikey settled down after that and was almost un hittable. The Jays tied the game on an error by Headley in the 7th costing Tanaka the win. In the 9th Headley made up for it with a lead off single. A-Rod moved him over on a hit and run out. Stephen Drew then hit a bloop single and drove in the winning walk off run. I was going to pinch hit Garrett Jones for Drew. But something thankfully told me not to.

Being from Detroit, my Tiger's franchise is pretty true to life thus far. I'm 10-2 and getting ready to start the series with the Yankees later on today. Cespedes, who leads the team in HR'S, is on the DL for 3 more weeks . So far I'm the only team in the Central division with a winning record so definitely looking to widen the gap early in the season while I have the chance.

Mine is also beginning to play out true to life but on the opposite end of the spectrum where I may need to be put through therapy soon for all the losses I will have to endure. I don't know how Rockies manager Walt Weise keeps from going insane but my virtual world Colorado Rockies (who have an even worse record than the real world team) are having a horrible time ever since I began playing my division rivals on the April schedule. I have lost 4 games in a row and lost 6 of my last 7 games all to division rivals with pretty much all the games in the next month on the schedule playing in the division.

My bullpen is just horrible, I don't have any confidence in anybody. Every time I put a relief pitcher into the game, they begin giving up hits, walking batters, giving up tons of runs. To make matters worse in the last two games (a loss to the Dodgers and a loss to the Padres last night) my last two starting pitchers Tyler Matzek and Jordan Lyles pitched fantastic games, much better than I could have hoped for taking the team into the 9th inning with one run leads only to see my closer Latroy Hawkins come in and blow the games by throwing wild pitches, by walking batters, giving up hits and losing the games. But it's not just the closer, none of my relievers has an ERA below 6.00 most of them are well above 10.00 with my closer above 27.00 ... yikes ... of course he is no longer the closer, he may never see another inning unless I am desperate and have run out of pitchers. Now who is next in my starting rotation for this evenings game? None other than Jorge de la Rosa who gives me fits. Sometimes Jorge is great, in fact he won his last start against the Giants (the only win I have in my last 7 games) to go 1-1 for the season (he was horrible in his opener). But the dude is flaky. One day he is great, the next day he totally ####s. Just look at his performance last night in the real world giving up 7 earned runs in 2 innings. Sometimes I can overcoming playing with the worst pitching staff in the game when my offense comes alive, but my offense has gone flat in my 6 recent losses. I don't know why I do this to myself, I think I will need to go through therapy soon playing with this team. But I said I would do it, I said I would get through this season without touching any of the player ratings even if that means losing 100+ games.

PS: I hope the patch comes out soon so that I could modify one of my existing AAA pitchers to make them into Rafael Betancourt (who was not included in the game this year). My bullpen is in desperate need of help.

I started my franchise with the White Sox (choose a different team every year) and a fantasy draft. Grabbed Stanton, Harper, Cole, and Seager with my first four picks. In the mid rounds, I started alternating between role players and prospects. I like to tinker, so I wanted a major league team with flaws and a farm system with some potential.

Team started 6-11. Offense has been good. Seager leads the league with a .444 average, and Harper has been crushing the ball. Thats pretty much where the positives end. Stanton started the season hitting .150 and my rookie pitcher is posting a 7.50 ERA. My bullpen is, to a man, horrible.

After that start, the Cubs proposed a trade for Cole that involved a veteran end of the rotation pitcher , a Top 50 prospect, and another B-level prospect that is probably ready for the bigs now. It's early to give up on the season, but it was too good to pass up. Deal was done.

Since then, I'm 4-1 and 10-12 overall. Rookie pitcher had a good start, and Stanton is finally getting hot. Traded Allen Craig for some bullpen help, but they are still shaky. I have a good young core, and a deep farm, so we'll blow it up at midseason if we need to.

Took 3 of 4 from the Tigers and played 1 more last night and shutout the Mets 4-0. Tanaka, Pineda, and Warren have been pitching great over the last couple games they've taken the mound. Warren allowed 1 run in the 2nd game vs. the Tigers, Tanaka allowed 1 earned through 7 vs the Tigers in the finale, and Pineda shutdown the Mets with the CGSO. Unfortunately, Eovaldi is still struggling a bit. He got lit up in game 3 of the series, but I was able to come back after being down 4-1 in the 2nd for the win.

I'm up two games on the O's and my record is 12-5. I'm starting to hit my stride when it comes to hitting with the TNK sliders. I'll give it another 3 games before I decide to adjust the difficulty a bit.

Finally made the big call up...

SP James Taillon has been promoted to the MLB and SP Charlie Morton is demoted to AAA. Morton was 0-4 with a 6.75 ERA and WHIP close to 2 through 7 starts. That's 20% of the season and I can't mess around at this point as I'm 15-20 through 35 games and need to start clawing my way back into the NL Central race.

Taillon is an 84 OVR A POT SP who was dealing in AAA (2.98 ERA and 4-1 record). He has an electric arm and I was hoping to keep him down until July but I can't hold off. I'm not taking into account his real life arm injury. He pitched amazing all of 2014 in my franchise so he's ready to finally show what he's got.

I have a few more games before his turn in the rotation is up. He'll get to debut against the Minnesota Twins.

I have a very favorable schedule the last part of May and I need to find a way back to .500

Pitching has been my downfall. Mark Melancon has been demoted from close to setup and Tony Watson is now the guy I will count on to shut the door.

Offensively my team is one of the better in the league. Top 5 in BA and #1 in 2B's. I definitely have a top 5 offense overall and my stars are performing very well. Cutch & Pedro are murdering the ball and both top 5 in BA in NL (.347 & .348). Trevor Plouffe & Neil Walker are having solid campaigns and others are finding ways to contribute.

If Gerrit Cole continues to be my ace, Brandon Morrow gets his butt in gear, and Taillon starts strong I have a shot to get back into things. Plenty of baseball left!
