Made a desperation trade of Hutch and 2 nice prospects for Jason Heyward from St. Louis who wasn't going to sign him long term. Then signed Beltre to a 1 year deal to replace EE at DH. Signed Samardja, Clippard and Lee to bolster my pitching and Holt as a bench guy. Lost game 1 of the new season, but hoping for the best this year!
I wanted to sign Lee to bolster my rotation against injury, but I couldn't afford him with the payroll I had to work with.

I'm 3 games into year two and am already very glad I have Holt as well as a bench guy.

I moved Guerrero to 3B to get his bat in the lineup every day (I have Kedrick at 2B still and Crawford in LF), but he is so atrocious there on any ball not hit right into his glove that I replace him with Holt as soon as I get the sense that defense will matter late in the game. Like, I'll pull Guerrero in the 7th if it's a 1-run game and he's not due to bat again till the 9th.

The way MLBTS does the playoffs is awesome. I was on my seat for every pitch of every game as I won the WS. If only Madden could figure out how to make the atmosphere seem live...

I tried to sign Lee for 9 Mil and Beltre for 13 but after the Lee signing it said I couldn't afford Beltre. Last day of free agency Beltre still there with no offer so I throw my remaining 5 Mil and grab him. He has hit 1 HR already and 3 hits in my first 2 games...looking like a bargian. Hope Heyward starts to hit though I paid a lot for him to replace Bautista lol. Holt right now will split RHP duties with Odubel Herrera until he can prove himself/injury occurs. I do like that he can play ever position though!

I'm using original OSFM roster ratings, with force trades on to create a fair team with players I enjoy.

        2B Joe Panik (74)
        SS Manny Machado (83)
        Lf Ryan Braun (86)
        3B Todd Frazier (83)
        RF Wil Myers (74)
        CF Joc Pederson (73)
        1B Chisenhall/ Van Slyke
        C Andrew Susac

        SP Gerrit Cole (86)
        SP Michael Wacha (82)
        SP Patrick Corbin (81)
        SP Trevor Bauer (77)
        SP Marcus Stroman (77)

Is this team as currently constructed too good, or is it fair enough to enjoy?
I'd say the only thing is you have a lot of young rookies or just young players in general, which is kind of unrealistic in a sense and also means you're going to have trouble locking them all up (if you play more seasons). Also some players playing out of position.

I'm 4 games under .500 before the All-Star break and Gregorious has broke his leg and is going to miss the rest of the season.

Stephen Drew isn't cutting it and I need a middle infielder. Refsynder might be making an appearance at 2B so the ideal man would be able to play both 2B and SS.

          Damnit wrong thread.

I've been really busy lately. My 2015 angels are 1.5 gb of oakland at the ASB.

Trout is leading the mvp race. Matt Shoemaker is 10-2 with a 2.50 era and coming in at 3rd in the cy young.

Calhoun, Aybar, Trout, and Street are my all stars

Starting June on a positive note by taking two of three from San Diego and now moving to Arizona for a 4 game series. Also, preparing for the amateur draft. Seems like the trades in May (Swisher & De Aza) have helped as they, and the rest of the team have started to hit as I've taken 3 of 4 in June. However, May was a rough one. I ended up 13-14, and fell to fourth place. Cuddyer is currently the only one raking for me. But like I mentioned before, the rest of the team has started hitting as I'm scoring runs now!

It's September 1, I have a 91-40 in my franchise and I'm up 6.5 games on the Orioles. From what it seems i'm on a collision course with the Cubs who lead the NL with a 80-53 record. There's an important series coming up with the O's in the second week of September that I hope to take two out of three from them. Masahiro Tanaka is 20-2 for my team and has been a beast over the past few months. Will he win the MVP?

                Stay tuned.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

I started a Pirates (30team control) franchise a few weeks ago. A lot of time to play so I'm already on June 8th, by playing the first and last games of each series.

We're currently 37-19, a very comfortable 8.5gms ahead of both the Cardinals and Reds. 9gms up on the Cubs who sit at 29-29.

                  MLB Injuries thus far:

5/5: LF S. Marte (broken ankle), out 1-2 months. Due back in a couple weeks. He started off red hot batting .390 (100ab) leading off with 2hr and 14rbi before he got hurt.

5/28: RF G. Polanco (fractured wrist), out 2-3 months. Put on 60 day DL. Expected to return late July/early August.

My starting pitching has been dominant most nights. 3.19 team era (2nd). That coupled with being tied for 6th in runs scored (254) has given us the best record in baseball with 53 games played.

2018 I'm in the WS. Yankees (me) vs the Dodgers who lead the league with 104 wins. Upton, Pederson, and Puig make up their OF. They're pretty tough. I'm currently down 2-1. I took Game 1, then lost the next two. Game 3 in the Bronx we were tied at 0 until the 8th and then my Pen broke down.

Also in the ALCS I played 37 innings in two games and my BP hasn't really recovered. In Game 2 of the WS Eovaldi went down with an injury after the first out. Jon Niese came in to relieve him and got hurt 11 pitches later. Really had some bad luck.

Craig Moreland (94) my first draft pick in season one made his MLB debut this post season vs Boston in the ALDS. He's 3-0 with a 1.64 ERA. 22 IP, 27 K's, 9 BB.

**** mostly used as a pinched runner

We are sitting at 4-6, 4.5 GB good for 3rd place in the division (White Sox are at 9-2) I'm trying to get Chris Davis to play 1B but the Orioles want to much, I'm also considering calling up Michael Halter to DH, he hit .206 last year but leads AAA Rochester in average this year with .344.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

I just finished my Year 1 of my Angels franchise. Played all 162 games (163 actually). I won 12 of my last 13 to finish in a tie with the Astros for first at 86-76. Then the bats went cold. First in game 163 against the Astros which forced my to play the Wild Card games against the Red Sox. And I lost in the 10th on a walk off bloop single by P.Sandoval.

Going into the offseason I didn't want to make too many changes other than getting a little more speed and a stronger back end of the bullpen. Street will give you a heart attack as a closer. Did some whealin' and dealin' and this is the roster I came up with.

17-11 with the Indians, terrible at hitting and baserunning tho.

I would suggest using auto baserunning if you are struggling with manual. If you are struggling to hit and then when you do get a hit you mess up the base paths it can be very frustrating. Don't worry the CPU will still make plenty of mistakes for you.

Well **** me. That was not a good 39 games. After going 17-12 in May we fell hard in June / July going 13-26. We won 7 games in June. And had a 12 game losing streak at one point. July has been better though. 6-5 so far as we look to try and keep that going after the break.

                              MLB Standings
                              Spoiler

Offense has regressed a bit. We are 5th in AVG at .266, 3rd in doubles with 173, Slugging % fell to .418 good for 8th in the league. And we only were able to AVG 3.3 runs per game since May. We are 15th in the league now with 349 runs.

Carlos Gomez getting hurt on June 19th didnt help things. But he is back now so not much to worry about there. He is hitting .308 with 10 HR, 31 RBI and 15 SB. Scooter Gennett is hitting .304 with 4 HR. Braun is hitting .277 with 16 HR and 45 RBI. The best hitter by far is still Lucroy. He increased his AVG to .356 (up 2 points). He is starting to hit a few more HR. He has 11 now and that has helped increase his SLG% to .530 (up 9 points). His OBP has dropped to a measly .402 (down 7 points). Khris Davis has taken over as the worst hitter on the team. .217/.313/.370 with 8 HR. Parra has taken over full time in LF. He is hitting .263/.307/.430 with 8 HR. Aramis Ramirez is hitting .250/.293/.377 with 6 HR. He could be on the move soon as the deadline approaches.

Starters have been about the same. Nelson still leading the team with 2.94 ERA. Fiers has dropped his ERA a full run from 4.97 to 3.87. Peralta is down to 4.85 from 5.57. Taylor Jungman was pretty good until recently. He has a 3.86 ERA in 9 starts. He was at 2.72 before his 2 starts in July so far. Matt Garza just came off the DL on the 13th. He start the 2nd game after the break. It will be his first start since May 21st. Kyle Lohse will be moved to the pen to make room. He has a 5.77 ERA. Michael Blazek will be optioned to AAA to make room.

Bullpen slipped a bit. Corey Knebel's ERA jumped form .42 to 2.32, Tyler Thornburg is at 1.77. Will Smith and Neal Cotts both at 3. K-Rod Still sporting a 5.40 ERA with 24 saves. Activated Jim Henderson on June 11th. He has a 4.09 ERA in 11 innings so far.

                              In AAA

Robinson Diaz is hitting .302. Luis Sardinas is up to .292. If Aramis Ramirez gets moved Diaz would come up. Ben Guez has quietly been having a good year. Hitting .284 with 12 HR and 42 RBI.

Not a whole lot of good going on with the pitching. Tyler Cravy's ERA has went up to 3.44. Wei Chung Wang has a 3.52 ERA. And no one else is under 3.74.

                              In AA

Orlando Arica broke his arm. Should be back within a month. He is hitting .250 with 5 HR. Victor Roache has 15 HR. Still hitting just .199. Nathan Orf leads in AV with .290. Tyrone Taylor might have been the best best hitter on the team. He has a .286 AVG with a .375 OBP. Unfortunately he tore his Achilles and is done for they year.

Pitching is even worse down here. No one that has been starting has an ERA under 4.24. Brooks Hall was just moved to the rotation from LR. He hasnt started yet though. In 34 innings out of the pen he has a 2.38 ERA.

                              Around the majors

Yadier Molina (.362) and Jose Altuve (.347) lead in AVG, Jose Abreu (26) and Andrew McCutchen (25) lead in HR, McCutchen (75) and Chris Carter (68) lead in RBI, Mike Trout (1.026) and McCutchen (1.119) lead in OPS.

Max Scherzer (1.80) and Corey Kluber (1.75) lead in ERA, Kluber (133) and Scherzer (145) lead in strike outs, Cole Hamels (0.95) and Felix Hernandez (0.99) lead in WHIP. Brett Cecil (29) and Drew Storen (30) lead in saves.

Yadier Molina broke his shin 2 days before the All Star break. He will be out for 1-2 months.

McCutchen and Cabrera lead the MVP race. Scherzer and Kluber lead the Cy Young Race. Kris Bryant and Mark Canha lead the Rookie of the Year race.

National League won the All Star game 5-2 in 11 innings. Was a pretty good game. Yonder Alonso won the MVP going 2-2 with 3 runs including a game tying HR in the bottom of the 9th. Carlos Gonzalez hit a 3 run walk off HR to win the game.

                              Box Score
                              Spoiler

Edit - What a game for Carlos Gomez. 1st game after the break. 6-6 with a triple, double and a walk off single in the 10th (could have been a double but didnt make him run). Finished a HR shy of the cycle.

                                * Bullpen struggled in the first 2 weeks but has been playing extremely well since
** Leads all of the Majors in batting average

Currently the twins are 12-11, 1.5 games behind the first place Detroit Tigers (14-10). The bats have been going well, it's the pitching that needs help. With that said I do expect us to the make the playoffs, if I don't I might start a new Franchise because losing every game is starting to get a little boring
