for example the NHL series with GM Connected. they never knew that it would fail like it did.
Both OF and GM Connected (NHL) are failures largely because they were rolled out as bare bones, featureless modes (when compared to offline) and then got no further attention (including fixing the bugs and issues from the first iteration of the mode).

Again, "we won't fix it because no one plays it" should be "no one plays it because we won't fix it". Blaming the consumer is not a good look.

actually if i remember correctly, GM Connected was Exactly just the offline GM mode, it lasted i think 2 or 3 years before they decided to remove it because not enough people played it.

GMC wasn't exactly like offline (no draft, for example). It was close, but not exact.

Also, it was "removed" during the jump to the current gen consoles.

However, it was a pain because of the horrible advance times and the poorly structured offseason (you were forced to do things that were completely unnecessary and sit through 10-minute advance times for each one). Those are things that could have been fixed (see NCAA Football's Dynasty Mode).

And having the exact same features was the case when it came to MLB The Show 14's online and offline Franchise, in fact I believe that online franchise had a feature or two more than its offline counterpart, showing that SCEA was actually pushing for this to become a thing.

BUT was that the case for MLB 15? Heck no, offline still held more features (which personally I was fine with) but the online franchise for 15 remained untouched, still without simplistic things such as position player stamina and a way for injuries to occur amongst the CPU when games were simmed.

And yet again, here we are in MLB 16, the mode still untouched and the same flaws still remain front and centre. I would just love for them to bring it into the light as we move into the release of MLB 16 and they begin their development on MLB 17, no way do they keep this mode the same when it comes to next year's title, it's either improved or taken out, just as I told a friend of mine that this mode would either have VAST improvements or remain untouched, there's no middle ground.

            Re: Online Franchise

this feature is a bug filled mess and there is no explanation from the devs as to what may actually cause bugs/crashes. In a simple league right now and challenges do not appear? Is it because of AAA, AAA with 26 players in roster, or do they (SCEA) not know? This has been the issue for a couple years now where the community is more aware of the mode than actual developers of the game smh

How can it live up to the standards when in MLB14 online was literally unplayable, and since day 1 there has been bugs and issues with the mode.

What makes me laugh is that Ramone Russell said in the stream that ONE GUY....ONE GUY handles both offline and online franchise modes. ONE GUY.

You're a SONY BASED STUDIO, how can you NOT afford to hire more guys to help this man? The only real baseball game on the market doesn't have enough money to hire more help? C'mon please.

You make so much money off of MLB The Show for what?

If you don't want to hire more help, do that ONE GUY a favor and combine both modes into a Connected Franchise and save yourselves from the headache.

If you want to play alone, don't invite anyone. Simple.

Playing against the CPU all of the time gets dull, I like building a team and playing against actual human beings....that's where the damn real fun is at.

Yeah I mean I'm not even going to try to guess how a code works or how the development goes but I agree it does seem odd having one guy work both codes.

They made it a huge point in MLB14 to have the modes be identical, then haven't touched since.

I agree on the madden route. Make it all in one. If you don't want others don't invite anyone. How hard that is? Wouldn't have a clue.

But I'd really just like to know if they have any future for us OF franchise guys. They were at 45k last year with a broken mode. They certainly won't get any higher with no upgrades or fixes? So are they going to throw out next year that only 35k played and we scrapped it? That would be very dissapointing.

I hope they continue to try and get features for you online guys but they explained the reasoning and it had NOTHING to do with ignoring you.

Well MLB sells far less units then a Fifa, Madden or 2k. Has for years. So I see why DD is appealing from a business perspective. And like others have pointed out maybe more revenue coming in means more resources for other modes. Idk

But it's still a mystery fir us OF guys v

Again I get it sucks no updates but at least you still can have the franchise with ur buddies even with the problems that can happen

I'm just hear to also voice my disappointment. I play in a Madden online league as well, full 32 players, that's been running for over 5 years.

I would love to build a similar league for The Show but the mode is so terrible I can't generate interest. I'm having trouble even getting the same 10 guys back for this year because of the bug that didn't let you advance in the playoffs last year. Yeah, a bug that literally killed your franchise. We wasted a whole month playing because of it.

I'm sure it's for legit reasons that they can't do it but seeing EA incorporate Online/Offline into one thing and then seeing The Show offer up their joke mode is really disheartening.

Like other have said. To quote user numbers as a reason not to touch it is a poor excuse. We've never gotten a version of the mode that actually works the way it's supposed too. If you don't give us a mode that works why would be suffer through it.

Just my 2 cents from a very disappointed fan.
