I'm sure they make some money from the Show but not nearly enough to be considered banking. Baseball games aren't money makers. Sports games in general aren't money makers.

I'm in the same boat. Am I super upset that Online Franchise remained untouched? Of course, am I mad that SDS can potentially garner a bigger budget for MLB 17 off of this year's title? Heck no.

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but my biggest gripe isn't with what they did focus on, because I'll benefit from it either way as I play every game mode, but it's mainly with the whole "franchise" experience when it comes to online..

I understand that they can't work on everything, and because of that I'll have to move to an offline franchise, but I remain hopeful that Online Franchise will get the love it deserves during the dev cycle for MLB 17, just as long as SDS doesn't take the numbers this year to heart as they seemed to have done this year. The numbers will drop for sure due to this, but the OF community here at OS (and surely outside) isn't one filled with casual gamers, they're likely in the hardcore category where they're the ones who want to manage the ins and outs of a team with everything in between.

With whats on the table right now in regards to online franchise is a barebones mode, that's been stated fairly regularly by others. When it comes to managing a team offline you have the following factors to take into account:

        1) Performance (good or bad affects your line-ups quite a bit as well as progression)

        2) Position Player Stamina (tired players need rest while OF players, including computers, can play all 162 games without it)

        3) Injuries (Injuries only occur in games you play in OF, while they're an active thing offline)

        4) Minor Leaguer Stats (This may be just an individual thing, but I like to base my promotions off of their minor league play moreso than their overall)

I just feel as if the whole Managerial role of things is what bothers me the most when it comes to the differences between both modes, I'd pretty much be happy with Positional Player Stamina and Injuries being re-worked, I would LOVE for the full fledged offline mode to be available online, but I know it takes a lot of work to do so.

Fifa and Madden are two of the best selling games out there so I disagree, I think 2k even falls in the top 10.

I know NCAA Football only accounted for 5% of EAs revenue. I'm not sure where the big 3 sports games rank. I'd be curious how much revenue the Show brings in.

Let's not give them to idea to take it out. I enjoy the current experience, as flawed as it can be, too much for it to disappear.

The troubling part is that people would play a combined mode. Madden taught us that. The CFM mode gives us the option to play as we want. Why not just bite the bullet and combine the two.

I can guarantee that me and two buddies playing 3 full seasons count for more play time than most of those 500k that pick up franchise and put it down six days later. As for DD, we know. We get it. It makes money. This isn't a mobile game. It can't solely be Play Now and microtransactions.

I'm currently on the fence about playing OF this year, mainly because a buddy of mine keeps heckling me and another buddy to do so lmfao! But you do make a good point, in where we shouldn't give them a reason to get rid of the mode, which makes me want to play it and show that the community still wants this feature, but then again, part of me really really really likes the idea of the offline features and experience.

Yeah I certainly don't want them to take it out either. And don't get me wrong. I don't hate DD. I actually like opening packs and collecting cards and making the lineups. I never ever use them but it's fun to collect. I'm just frustrated that they added two new modes to DD and didn't even touch online. Couldn't they have added one mode and maybe added a little polish to online?

I wish the devs could give us an option for a online community in game. Where the owner can set sliders, password, invite like minded players, with a lobby system.

It probably sells less then NCAA football even, especially with it releasing only on one system, I am curious as well.

More love would be one thing, but they didn't even have the decency to squeeze their tits together while we rubbed one out.

I don't think most of us online franchise players were looking for anything drastic... Just little improvements and bug fixes, but instead we got absolutely nothing.

The numbers are hard to ignore.. my only concern is how and where did they get this number from?

Did they account for people who create a offline franchise and just drop it after a couple months into the season? Because I have like 3-5 saved offline franchise files that I started but never got deep into it.

For online it's the same thing, did they account for leagues that never get through a year or two?

This is why I didn't like them deciding using the number because unless they can show me that 500,000 people literally played multiple season offline then they just used this has a excuse for not touching online franchise.
