For online it's the same thing, did they account for leagues that never get through a year or two?

This is why I didn't like them deciding using the number because unless they can show me that 500,000 people literally played multiple season offline then they just used this has a excuse for not touching online franchise.
Did they account for online leagues that initially started and the bugs ran into with rosters not uploading and people saying forget it from there or those that made it to the playoffs only to be hit with the glitch not allowing to move along?

Yeah like I said, using the number theory is pretty smart if they actually accounted for the leagues that went multiple years.

Honestly, I'm not annoyed by this because like I told my other league members. They really went hard offline, so don't expect it to be online yet. We are just hoping that the development team didn't forget about online completely! Give us users some good news who pay Sony $ to use online content.

If I had to make a wild guess, then I would think the easiest things to track would be.

        1. How many times a specific mode was played. Simply counting the clicks on that take you into a specific mode.

        2. I guess it might also be possible to count the unique user ids that go into each mode.

I think I would bet on number one though.

If that's the case I'll spend 3 hours a day simply clicking on Online Franchise so the numbers RISE!

But I think you're on the right track here tbh.

Truthfully it's a slap in the face for those of us that like to play OF. To potentially not get rid of any of the bugs that plagued online is just total neglect. I would of been fine with rotating schedules, that annoying opening day all yr long, and synchronization of the gm where both parties are seeing the same thing oh 1 more thing giving the commissioner more control. As much as I love this gm if nothing is done to OF next yr this will be my last.
I guess us OF'ers will have to complain more so our voices will be heard !!!!

              Re: Online Franchise

I'm someone who has never played OF because it just has never been worth it. I do, however, play offline and I've been quite vocal in this thread about my disdain for the "they don't play it so we won't fix it" line.

That said, I think using "multiple seasons" as a barometer for how dedicated someone is to their franchise is a little much. I play one full season in my offline franchise each year - no more, no less. I play all 9 innings of all 162 games. I'm dedicated and saying anything less because I don't play 2 or 3 seasons per year is wrong.

Now, I do recognize that no such metric is likely used (if it's even possible, which I doubt). I just wanted to speak my mind on the topic because I felt that it was excessive to say that you don't matter unless you play several seasons on each iteration of the game.

Nonetheless, "they don't play it BECAUSE we won't fix it" NOT " they don't play it SO we won't fix it" should be the mantra.

Couldn't agree more, it may hamper my experience with MLB 16 due to the fact that my primary game mode remained untouched, but let's see if our voices are heard once the MLB 17 cycle begins.

Unfortunately I will be contributing to the ultimate disappearance of Online Franchise from the game. I was very excited when it came out in MLB 14, I built up a league with friends, played out 3 complete seasons playing all 162 games (even with bugs).

I was disappointed when 15 came out the same, but we kept playing , and I even bought a ps4 in anticipation of 16. But this is ridiculous. I'm not buying 16 at all. Sorry guys.

It's unfortunate that the number of OF'ers are going to drop (more than likely myself included) but it's not surprising by any means, I'll shed a tear daily as MLB 16 goes on and OF likely dies out

My league was one that ran into the "unable to advance in the playoffs" bug last year. No one wanted to restart because of how angry everyone was about the waste of time. This year if I can't find confirmation that those franchise killing bugs are gone, we won't even start our league even though we'd very much like too.

So yeah to quote number of people using the mode is a complete bs cop out response. Especially when one of the modes is straight up broken.

Yeah the playoff bug certainly halted some really good franchises for sure. Especially with the bugs at the beginning of the year that made all of them needing to be restarted.

Which was an insane amount, I remember seeing a ton of tickets being submitted on The Show Nation, and it looks like they took it to heart and fixed it to a degree, but disregarded any other "franchise ending" bugs that could come up, at least basing it off of their aforementioned " improvements" during the franchise stream. I feel like any sort of bug fix regarding injuries making players disappear and the advancing to playoff bug being fixed would have been mentioned alongside the vague "stability and score posting" improvements.

I'm kinda used to doing more work than is required with my online franchises in the show. Back on PS3 before they had any year to year stuff at all, I actually took the time to progress/regress all the players myself. What we did was basically take our rosters into a franchise and sim a season and noted any attribute changes. Needless to say this was a massive amount of work but it did improve the experience. I guess what I'm saying is most of the Online Franchise crowd is used to what has happened this year..and while we're not happy I don't see the point of complaining. I don't honestly know if there is anything we can do, maybe the mode will never change. They certainly haven't given us an indication it's a priority...in fact they've done the opposite with their comments this year.
