    Re: Online Franchise

Even if it's low priority that means they are willing to leave 50k people out of the mix in what they care about.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've already decided this is the last 60 bucks I plunk down on a crew that thinks so little of 50,000 customers.

Perhaps we in the minority should speak with our wallets?

Again - you are typing "Care". It's not about caring. There is a definitive timeline for development of a game. Only so much can be addressed.

It isn't an emotional response at all. It's a business.

How many times do we have to say that 45k number is bull. Of course less people will play a "broken" mode. Set up to fail is what that is.

The truth is (per an SCEA stream) that approximately 500K players played offline franchise while 45K played online. For WHATEVER reason (I know many of the OF crowd will state that they don't play BECAUSE it's bare bones, which may be a valid reason) those are the bottom line numbers that SCEA has to go off of, which makes Online Franchise a low priority item. Quite frankly, outside of Madden (which combined both modes), Online Franchise is the lowest priority item in every sports game currently (including a bare bones NBA mode, the mode being completely absent from NHL and FIFA, and the current offering here).

The mode itself is low priority across sports games. That is not an excuse as I would like to see it brought back to prominence as well, but please use that understanding when discussing it.
Yeah we've discussed it. But it's not that it's bare bones really . It's that its broke.

What is "broke"? That is a serious question from me, by the way. I'm not attempting to troll.

Many franchises play a full season only to find it won't advance to playoffs.

Position players have no fatigue. Which really diminished the point in having a bench. Nobody gets tired.

To add to that injuries don't work. CPU don't get hurt, neither do Users. So everyone plays 162 games. It's not baseball when you never have to sit a guy to fatigue or deal with injuries. It's a shell of it.

Those are just a few of countless issues. They wonder why it's 50k when it's been like that since day 1 mlb14. Would many people put up with that? Not at all.

I can't find online franchises in any game I play anymore, I wish I could play in some in any sport game but the only thing that Madden does better than every other sports game is the online franchise feature because they combine them with offline. Sport games need to adopt this.

To me 45k is a decent number that's still a lot of people to work this mode for and I think they need to make it easier for people to get involved in an online league that's full of random people not always just your friends.

We're all going to have our own opinions. They "addressed" two new modes all around DD, so I don't buy that. Business or not. If they're not going to fix it, get rid of it.

I was in one last year where we started new 4 times. I'm attempting to address the issue civilly and I would appreciate if you are going to contribute you do it constructively and keep the snark out of it. It's unfortunate that to have a conversation in certain areas new users, much less the forum admin, has to deal with this from posters who have been here and know better.

Of these the only game breaking feature (and I say this painfully as I agree with the other two is not being able to advance. The other two are unfortunately game options that aren't enabled, but don't stop you from playing (just the enjoyment level).

They added two new modes to build upon a very large user base while still working on offline franchise. Again - the number dictate the priority.

If they removed it this year, like NHL did, wouldn't this thread be essentially the same but focused on the removal of a mkde instead of the lack of advancement? I don't believe removing it is a fix to this.

Exactly this. Every game needs to adopt a seamless online/franchise to be the same. Same code and everything.

Ncaaf was very successful because there were no differences between off and on.

Madden has been very successful because there were no differences between off and on.

Nhl wasn't successful because they were different.

Nba wasn't successful because they were different and it actually 100% was broken.

What's the trend here? Make it the exact same. Not saying it's easy to do at all, but again there is a reason only 45k people play it. More people would but don't want to deal with the state it's in.

Remember when madden FIRST introduces online franchise? There was no free agency. No contracts. Just progression and draft. How many do you think played that? Extremely bare bones.

Then they revamped and made Connected Careers. It's worked out great for them

This is my favorite game so I'll still stick with it, but it is easy to see why people are frustrated at times.

Removing it would save me money. Instead I pre order every year with hope.

I won't be doing it again though. If I'm stuck with DD and all the BS that comes with that, and off line franchise 16 does the job for me.
