I don't see it as a problem, I'm kind of looking forward to messing with it but I wouldn't say it won't affect anything. We have performance based progression. If a guy's morale impacts his performance it impacts him progression.

I don't sim anything, I play every game until my team is eliminated but I can understand why a simmer wouldn't like it. I don't understand people who buy the show to sim but different strokes I guess.

It was already hard enough simming trough a season when 20 or so players potentials change on every team every year. I think since I only play franchise and love simming I will stick with MLB15 and wait until the next release save my money.
Yeah, the last thing we need is a player deciding to retire and walk away from $13M, because he wants his kid allowed in the clubhouse. So unrealistic. Would never happen in real life.

Yeah because Ian Desmond would never turn down $15.6 million for one year to sign with another team for $8 million because he just didn't want to stay with a team that could win a championship. Besides the fact that he turned down $107 million to "bet on himself" in free agency.

          Hahaha, Nice comeback!

The stream mentioned player morale being efected when players who feel they sould (or were promised to) be placed 1st, 3rd & 4th in the batting order, and arent...

Was anything mentioned about how pitchers would be effected?

          Thanks in advance...

Pitchers are effected by things like being promised the role of a rotation pitcher, or the designated closer, etc. Also, some folks need to realize morale only effects mental attributes.

i no longer own the game right now or a ps3. or ps4but i am almost certain it is there if you go to player management and go through their attributes, stats, contract details it is somewhat already there. obviously it is more refined now.

Hmmm, I don't think so. Maybe you're thinking of NHL 16 or NBA 2k, which both have some sort of morale system already.

I'm not sure if I'd like the idea of one of my players deciding to go "Operation Shutdown" on me, but it'd still be pretty darn funny.

                    Re: New morale features

What I dislike most about morale is the star batting spots, 1, 3, and 4. Lindor batted second and hit over .300, Trout in 2014 batted second and won the MVP award. When Springer was in the lineup, Correa batted second. Kyle Seager often batted second.

Star spots in my opinion should be 1 through 5, or at least 1 through 4.

Agreed 100% with the 2 spot in the lineup. Can't see Tulo being upset batting anywhere 1 thru 5 in that Jays lineup, but on a lesser team a star hitter may want the clean up spot.

I forgot about Tulo, and I think Cain also batted second. Anyway, Trout winning the MVP batting second should be enough to make it a star spot.

So if we choose not to monitor or try to change player morale could a player go from happy to sad and back to happy again on his own for whatever reason? If so then I don't mind it, think of it as a slump of sorts I guess.

Also has it been mentioned how this affects a players contact, power etc. or does it affect them in other ways.

The morale only effects mental attributes. There's a twitch stream where they went into depth about morale. It's effected by maybe 5 different things.

Mental attributes? I don't understand the point of it then.

I'm gonna manage like Billy Martin , if a player is sulking and unhappy he's gonna ride the pine till he smartens up or I'll send him down to Toledo for a couple weeks, see what he thinks of that.
