Salvador Perez had his contract restructured around march 1st.

Any overall that is decreased means something.

But they're losing a point in their overall because they're taking a hit in their mental attributes and last time I checked mental attributes contribute to the overall. As long as their physical attributes go untouched the morale feature is fine. This is why I'm in favor of hiding overall rating, too many people overreact to it.

BB/9, K/9, H/9, etc for pitchers

VIS, DIS, Clutch, etc. for hitters

According to Jr., those Mental attributes are meaningful to both batter and pitcher. The other thing is if a pitcher is unhappy at the start of spring training because of his contract, why should that change during the season?

Thus, that unhappy pitcher or batter will likely have some of his attributes affected all season long.

I'm taking the wait and see for myself approach, instead of driving myself nuts trying to determine how it will work before I see how it actually does work.

But that's just me.

Look at it this way: if you don't like the new morale features, then you are like the 30 GM's IRL.
They don't like having these issues affect their teams either lol

Can't open link, but I assume it is about Gallardo..who was a free agent who had his initial offer restructured due to an injury discovered during his physical.

Wasn't like he was on the roster already and team decided to up the offer.

Also baseball union must sign off on any restructure that loses value, hence it barely b happens.

Longoria has one of the most team friendly deals in baseball. It's a risk/reward players take by signing an early extension.

Ok this has run its course. Since no one has the game and nobody is talking about the actual feature anymore and just arguing about real world examples.

Once the game is out we can move all of this the Q&A page when it goes up, or the impressions thread at the same point.
