Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread
I'm not 100% sure but I don't think your potential can change, it's set on stone after scouts evaluation. It can be a good thing. If you're rated high, you'll arrive faster in MLB, otherwise your career in the Minors will be longer.Comment

Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread
With the release of OSFM V2 I was finally able to get my RTTS started. 19 year old CF Wes Callison, 52 rating(B Potential) drafted in the 2nd round by the Twins. Great, stuck behind Byron Buxton, a 22 year old A potential stud. No matter though, just gonna put my head down and play.Comment

Have a 1st Baseman that I used most of my stub's from pre-oreder on. He is currently batting near .500 in Double A. But I am in a weird situation. I was drafted 12th overall by the Red Sox who obviously has Big Papi. I dont know the best route to move up in the minor's and into the major's.
I want to play 1st Base but I am open to playing another position, likely 3rd or catcher.
I just dont know if I should do that or ask for a trade.
Also have a Pitcher who was drafted 9th by the Tigers who I used a few stubs on but for the most part am progressing naturally through points earned. He is a stud. I am focusing mostly on velocity with him and my starting pitches are:
4Seamer
Changeup
12-6 Curve
Focusing on the fast ball and the changeup for now.
He is absolutely insane and I really enjoy playing him. Can get the 4 seamer up around 100 MPH if I use showtime.
I personally really enjoy the showtime for both pitching and batting (along with fielding). It adds depth to the mode and adds variety.
I really like it with fielding especially throwing. Though it doesnt get triggered all the time on my first baseman.
Also anyone having problems with dynamic difficulty? Mine was just stuck on beginner and not progressing at all so I had to switch to a set difficulty."Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion!"

Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread
Anyone playing at 1b or 3b noticed an insane amount of bunting? I've had 3 and 4 hitters square up with runners at 1st and 2nd with 2 outs numerous times. Twice I've seen Donaldson drop a bunt down with runners on 1st and 2nd. Also had many batters drop a bunt down with runners on and 2 outs, and no drag bunts, they all square up. Most of these occur when my player is even with the bag, but I've also had sacrifice bunts where the corners are in and they still drop the bunt down...with 2 outs many times. I can somewhat understand bunting with the corners back, or even with the bag. But when they're in, anticipating the bunt?
Since I'm in the topic. Why, if the corners are playing in do neither the pitcher, nor the 2b cover first if I (as 1b) grab the damn ball? It's extremely frustrating to make a good play on a sacrifice and basically have to eat it if you can't quickly mange the tag before the runner passes you.

Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread
Same thing happens to me every year in this mode.
I create a player that I really enjoy using
Start playing really well in the minors.
Become excited to come up in the system with the organization that drafted me.
and then BOOM, traded.
The organization JUST drafted me, why the hell are they trading me already? isn't there a rule in real baseball against trading away prospects that you've just drafted?
Oh btw, I was hitting .365 with 12 HRs and 45 RBI at the point of the trade. This was right after the Double A All-Star Game, which I started and performed well in.
A few further details: My player is a RF/OF and was drafted by Arizona. I'm aware that Pollock and Peralta are good players, but holy crap this is stupid. My player is a 19 year old outfielder with power already at 65-70. Why would they trade me?
The trade was with the Colorado Rockies and coming back the other way was closer Jake McGee (21 innings, 3.43 ERA, 1.52 WHIP). A pretty good pitcher to have at the back of the bullpen, sure, but Arizona already had Brad Zeigler (23 innings, 1.54 ERA, 0.90 WHIP) and Tyler Clippard (40 innings, 3.35 ERA, 1.02 WHIP) pitching well at the back end of our bullpen.
Now I need to try to focus on coming up with the Rockies (ugh, Yard Goats..) that is, until I'm inevitably traded once againPSN:Xplisit21

Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread
I've seen in goldglove's lets play on YouTube that he is getting a 2x bonus for his training points. Can anyone tell me how I can get this? I looked through the perks and didn't see anything.

Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread
Made a SS (6'2" 195) and I'm making him a defensive star to start and the offense and power will come later in his career.
At 19 I got drafted 2nd round by Atlanta with B potential. Playing on All-Star.
In 80 games in AA I hit .368 (with not much put into the hitting categories) and I had 2 HR's and 19 RBI's with a .972 fielding %.
I got called up to AAA and I hit .277 with 1 HR and 14 RBI's in 34 games til the season ended. Then in 30 games the next season I hit .304 with 1 HR and 12 RBI's before I broke my ankle ending my season. I had no errors in AAA.
Started 2018 in the majors and it's been rough on offense. I have my contact up in the 50's and vision at 70 but I can't buy hits. I have the fewest strikeouts on the team but I hit a lot of weak hits back to the pitcher and seem to always hit the ball right at someone.. Almost always get solid contact but things on the ground get hit right at someone or things in the air always hang just long enough. Hitting .194 with 0 HR and 8 RBI's is frustrating. I have my player up to an 82 and despite the poor offense I'm still at an 82 adjusted overallComment

Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread
You have to buy it with stubs. When you're in RTTS, click the touchpad and a menu pops up. Click on the thing (forgot what it's called) to the left and choose RTTS game breakers. There you can choose to buy training points immediately or get the x2 booster. The latter is by far the best choice.Comment

Was dynamic difficulty fixed in the last patch for RTTS?
