Exactly, which means you need to manually move the difficulty to counter that if you want to stay on a single level throughout the RTTS experience.

I thought the playoffs increased the difficulty again as well, is that right?

      - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

I've never seen that confirmed by the developers.

Well then, this is interesting if true.

I haven't played a baseball game since Ken Griffey Jr's Slugfest for the N64, and until recently I knew very little about baseball outside of the basics. With that said, I put the difficulty for everything on All-Star as I wanted a challenge while playing RTTS. I'm pretty hit and miss. Sometimes I'll have an absolute nightmare, other times I'll get MOTM several games in a row. Still, I like how I'm not just gifted a call up. I'm working hard to get to the show!

You earn more training points during the playoffs. I know that for sure.

I started a new RTTS OF with OSFM V1.5. This time went all-around right-handed RF. Didn't do so well in showcase/prospect games. Got rated a 54ovr C potential. Fell to the Mariners in the 3rd round.

Started off really hot, hitting .394 with a hit in every game through 8 before I broke my shin. 60-day DL. Came back in June and I'm 8 games back, hitting .286 since my return.

Just started a new season (2018), and I'm about to go crazy. I know it's early in the season and they tend to keep a closer eye on pitch count and innings pitched...but when I'm pitching a 1 or 2 hit game into the 7th inning, with mid 60s pitch count, leading the game, don't yank me after I give up one hit in the 7th! And this didn't happen once, this last game was my 3rd already! And this last game, got pulled in the 7th after allowing my 3rd hit, we were leading 2-0 at that time. Reliever loses the lead for me, and ends up getting a win due to us scoring a run next time out. He ends up getting the player of the game...all for pitching 1 inning, giving up 2 runs, and ended up getting a lucky win. Grrr

Try moving the Manager hook slider a couple of notches to the left and see if that helps. It's very frustrating, I know. It really sucks when you're charged with the runs just because the reliever almost never ever does his job.

What is your Stamina at? What was your Energy level at the 60 pitch count? If your energy is low, I don't think it matters what pitch count you're at, the manager is going to pull you.

                      Just a thought.

Stamina meter is at 83. Energy level was still solid, at about 40% iirc. He had 6 days off from his last start, and I usually get the I'm started to get tired message at about 90 pitch count range when coming off six days rest.

Without getting too complicated (though I can explain it if you like) Veteran selected difficulty at the MLB level basically means that you're really playing on All-Star difficulty (that's not a bug, it's by design and the change is under-the-hood), and that changes a lot of things about the CPU's pitching strategy. I'd suggest playing at whatever difficulty level you played on last year as a starting point, but things are a little different this year with the whole precision input thing, so you might find a different difficulty level to be a better fit.

                          Good luck!

Tried that today and I'm still getting pitches into my happy zone. At the rate I'm going, my guy is gonna be the greatest HR hitter of all time! Haha

Doesn't matter what your stamina is, what your pitch count is, or what the hook slider is set to. If you are beyond the 6th inning and the tying run reaches base, you will get yanked (unless you have a no hitter going). It doesn't matter if that runner reached via hit, walk, error or even after a passed ball strikeout. The manager will yank you every time. This is apparently programmed in because it has been this way since 2014 and it happens without fail, every single time. I know the developers are aware of it because it comes up early and often with every single edition of the game. Disappointingly, they have yet to do anything about it.

Not so sure about that though. Previous season I threw some complete shutout games with the score 2-0, 3-0. And I didn't get yanked when I allowed a hit then in the 8th, or 9th, I was able to pitch through it and get the CG and win.
