    When playing as a first baseman with fielding on, do you play every groundout or just balls hit to you?

      I'm adding a 5th pitch soon for my SP. Currently he has 4SFB, 12-6 curve, slider, and circle change. Need to add a second fastball, out of curiosity which one would you suggest?

      Edit:

      I am thinking either add a sinker/2SFB, or remove the 12-6 curve and add splitter and 2SFB/sinker...

        I have fielding set to "some" on my 1B and I get maybe 3-4 fielding opportunities/game. Two things:
        1. I almost never ever get any assists. I have roughly 600 PO and 9(!) A. Won't win any GG if that keeps up.
        2. When you DO get an opportunity to roll a DP and you don't get it, the opposing team almost always score multiple runs, be it a two run dinger or whatever. It's really odd. Like you're getting punished because you didn't turn it fast enough.

        EDIT: Maybe it was just a coincidence or maybe my tinfoil hat is too snug but after the latest patch the ridiculous amounts of runs scored after foiled DPs seem to have calmed down.

          Excellent pitch repertoire. I'd definitely go 2SFB. It's more versatile than the sinker in my opinion. Keep the 12-6! And if you're worried that the CIR has the same movement as the 2SFB, don't. It's awesome. You can fool the hitter pretty good by first putting a CIR on the outside corner and then a 2SFB in the same spot (or the other way around).

            So I made a CF 1st round pick of the Chicago Cubs in the Mike Trout mold spent my first season in AA and AAA averaging no less than .450 thru both now it's the start of the 2nd year Fowler is gone and I assumed I would be starting CF but I was wrong LF Matt Sczur 76ovr is starting over me a pure CF 82ovr and I for the life of me can't figure out why he is batting .171 thru 13 games and 41 at bats while I have a .630avg thru 9games and 27 at bats I have asked the manager for more playing time 2 times now and each have been denied I am better than Szcur in every category except reaction ......
            Has anyone else had this problem where they for no reason at all are forcing u to be a bench player? Is this a glitch and should I wait for a patch or something?

              Has anyone noticed their player number changing? Mine changes constantly throughout the season. I was 25, 38, 43, 24, 33, all changing every so often. Bug?

                Something similar happened to my Astros 1B when I was in AAA and simmed ahead to see what the future had in store for me. If I didn't increase any of my attributes I didn't get called up at all. If I increased Contact and Power I got called up as a DH. BUT! If I increased my Fielding to 74 I got called up as a 1B even though my Fielding already was higher than Singletons. He had a .220 avg while I was sporting a cool .380.

                I increased all the necessary attributes and played until I got called up on the exact date as when I simmed and I haven't looked back. They kept Singleton around for a month or two and then he was sent down to AAA.

                  After like 45. Games of my CF just destroying shyt coming off the bench cubs finally made me the everyday starter even though I been the best option at CF since opening day not in front of my game right now but with 100+ at bats I have 66hits a d am averaging over 500. With 6hrs 7 triples and 14 doubles and 20 setting RBIs and 15 stolen bases

                  I'm on dynamic hitting difficulty but it hasn't changed since I started and I just recently turned the spider up all the way

                    Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread

                    Yeah, I know it's messed up. In my case it was just as silly. I know that AAA is not the same as being up in The Show but a .380 avg with 12 HR, a ton of doubles and a few triples and a .430 OBP in ONE month certainly warrants a chance. Certainly when the guy above me didn't produce at all. And all I had to was to put a few points in batting and fielding to get the call.

                    The dynamic difficulty for hitting is broken in RTTS. It doesn't go past Rookie I believe. The latest patch didn't fix it. I'm on All Star right now but I think I should be somewhere inbetween Veteran and All Star so I would love it if it worked.

                      So I'm now having an issue occur & it's making the game mode unplayable for me. I suddenly can't play without seeing every pitch of every at bat during the game. My settings are the same as they been the entire time. It just happened in the middle of a game.

                        Is it me or since I've continued my 15 RTTS onto 16, it seems that I'm getting nothing but fastballs in the zone and maybe the occasional change up (in my happy zone as well). My guy shouldn't be batting .489...

                          If you haven't changed the difficulty since starting '16, You're probably on Dynamic (the default) which is currently bugged in RTTS batting and is more or less locked to Rookie. That's why you're seeing so many meatballs. It's a known bug and near the top of the bug tracker list on Shownation.

                          What difficulty level did you play on last year, and what level of the system are you in (AA, AAA, MLB)?

                            I changed to Rookie this morning being it was on Dynamic but I'll bump it up to the next level. I'm in my 2nd year in MLB. I noticed the sliders and curves were no longer being thrown and everything was being thrown in my wheelhouse which didn't seem right.

                              I'd suggest turning it up to at least Veteran if you really want to see a difference. Without getting too complicated (though I can explain it if you like) Veteran selected difficulty at the MLB level basically means that you're really playing on All-Star difficulty (that's not a bug, it's by design and the change is under-the-hood), and that changes a lot of things about the CPU's pitching strategy. I'd suggest playing at whatever difficulty level you played on last year as a starting point, but things are a little different this year with the whole precision input thing, so you might find a different difficulty level to be a better fit.

                              Good luck!

                                If I remember right, whatever level you set it as is the level you play at, at the AAA level. So, if you set it manually at Veteran:

                                AA = Rookie
                                AAA = Veteran
                                MLB = All-Star

                                My senior brain might be wrong at this......
