And there's a rumored package of Moncada AND Benintendi for Teheran. That's 2 top 10 prospects for a #2 starter. (Per Baseball Americas Rankings released this week.) But that's not happening either, if you believe the Braves GM.

If Gallo goes to the Rays then Archer will need a Real Estate Agent in the DFW area

3 years of Odorizzi > 1? year of ross

We've gone over this a bunch with Teheran and I'm sure people have seen enough about it, but I am assuming he was using #2 because of Eno Sarris.

And as a Braves fan that Miller trade was God awful from the moment it was struck and should NEVER be used as rationale for a potential offer. Dave Stewart made a deal that would get people fired. The media has a hard on for TLR so they cut him a break but his tenure with the D-backs has been rough to be polite

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

What would be the value of Carlos Gonzalez (just off the DL in June) with 56 at bats, batting .294 with 2 homers? Also, Nick Hundley (also just off the DL) with 36 at bats, batting .200 with a couple of RBI.

I know the sample is small, but they have both been on the DL and I would like to acquire both for the Jays (in the next month if possible). I would settle for just Cargo but checking to see what it would take for both. If this isn't likely to happen can you list values of both?

Alright new question. What's the more realistic trade? Ross and Norris for Gallo, or Ross for Baez?

Ross for Baez would have been somewhat realistic in the offseason, but now that Ross is just a rental, Baez would be a pretty big overpay

Not to mention missing 3+ with a shoulder ailment really hurts a pitchers value

Not to mention that Baez is showing he actually can provide a good deal of positive value at the MLB level. No more 41.5% strikeout rate.

Just goes to show how unpredictable real life trading can be. Awful/lopsided trades are as realistic as perfectly balanced ones, probably more so.

Though, maybe I'm colored by years of both running and playing online leagues where two humans agree to trades that are..."interesting" to say it one way.

In my Cubs franchise, im nearing the deadline, and both me and the Red Sox are "in discussions" with the A's about Sonny Gray. Red Sox currently sit at 49-44, 2nd in AL East (3.5 GB of Blue Jays), 2nd in AL WC (4 GB of Tigers, Astros 1 GB them).

My Cubs are 56-39, 1st in the NL Central, 2.5 Games ahead of the Cards

David Price has been very, very good. But none of their other starters have been consistant. They signed Tim Lincecum in June and he's been pretty bad too. They definitely need a starter much more than I do, so if it gets to the point where the Red Sox (ill be kind of relying on the Red Sox fans on this thread to be the voice of the GM) are willing to offer much more, Ill pass look for a lesser talent for cheaper.

If I (the Cubs) go for Gray I'd also like to get Sean Doolittle in the deal as well.

                            Gray stats: 109 IP, 4.21 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, 7.76 K/9, 3.88 BB/9, 3.69 FIP, 1.95 WAR

                            Doolittle's stats: 40.2 IP, 3.54 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 8.19 K/9, 2.85 FIP, 0.83 WAR

Not really sure what a package from Boston would look like as we've seen alot of different opinions about their farm. Thats where Im looking for your help

As the Cubs Id be willing to part with Soler (although he's struggling enough where he probably couldn't be the centerpiece), Torres, Underwood, Candelario, and Vogelbach. I would also give up Almora or Happ if i really had too, but if I have to include Schwarber or Baez in the deal Im going to let the A's trade him to Boston. I can give any stats for those guys if you need them

FROM CHC: Torres, Soler and Candelario

                              FROM BOS: Swihart, Espinosa, Kopech.

This is probably the ballpark you will be looking at from either team

                                Fair trade?

DET (21-21) acquires SP Tyler Skaggs (1-0, 7.1 IP, 6 K) from LA (17-25) for RF JD Martinez (.212, 6 HR, 17 RBIs) and RP Bruce Rondon (No ML stats)...

                                Thoughts?
