Hell if I can do Devers + Owens + Sam Travis I am game hahaha.

My question is along with Gardner and maybe a B level prospect...what kind of starter could I go after that would be a realistic fit and also a realistic trade partner. Do I go for a pitcher at the deadline from a non contending team? (I fully feel I will be in post season contention if I stay healthy).

      Thoughts?
Do the Padres need another once all-star? Not exactly sure what their outfield is with Kemp and Jay. But a Shields for Gardner deal would be fun. It honestly just depends who is still in, but has extra pitching and needs an OF.

Edit: my bad on the triple post, Tapatalk got the best of me haha.

You are right the Angels are in win now mode but have no farm system. Where are you in the season? What is their record? If they are out of it then they will want prospects, if they are in the playoff chase then they will want someone who will contribute right away.

        Still just in preseason.

Once OSFM drops will be doing my yearly Red Sox 'Chise. If in it still in July will more then likely be looking for pitching. Red Sox have great catching depth so.... What are some pitchers that may be available for a package centered around Blake Swihart? Appreciate any feedback.

From a Ranger fan's perspective. I get the jist that Gallo is almost untouchable at this point. Beltre will retire soon and Gallo serves as the young power threat (with a weaker avg) that will replace him. I just don't think Texas is willing to move him. With that said, you could probably build something around Profar and Tate (++). Profar can easily rebound from injury and be a top tier player but with the emergence of Odor, I think he's the odd man out now. Tate is considered our best pitching prospect and that gives Chicago an arm to eventually replace sale. I would include a rotation ready arm like Chi-Chi or Martinez. Others can touch on whether that is too much or too little. If that even interests you as I know Gallo is the one everyone is after.

I just feel like the Rangers don't ship out Gallo unless it's for a Top 10 player. I think they think that highly of him.

I agree about Gallo being the one to replace Beltre, but how about I give a hypothetical. Rangers re-sign Beltre to a 3 year deal for 2017, 2018, 2019. That's three more year (4 including 16) Gallo wouldn't be at 3B, Moreland is likely gone after this year or next, they have Fielder forever...just throwing that out there.

Swihart is highly valued on the game. I would include Chavis, and Kopech and go after Sonny Gray. You could also get Tyson Ross without trading Swihart if you wanted.

I think you'd have to break the bank. Moncada, Devers, Benitendi. I wouldn't, but that's what it'd take

That's a fair hypothetical but I don't think it negates what I said before and I'll try to explain why. The scenario you described, is reality. Texas and Betre are trying to work out a three year deal, Prince is here and Mitch is likely gone after this season. Beltre is the man but he's not getting any younger. It would be far fetched to assume that he'll be an every day third baseman in 2-3 years. This year, likely next year. But when 2018 and 2019 roll around, I very much expect that he'll be platooning.

By that time, Moreland will likely be elsewhere and there will be a hole to fill. Gallo can play 3rd, he can play RF and I'm pretty sure he could handle first. Texas will find a place for him between Beltre and Fielder. Just like they've found a place for Moreland. This is a front office that had Michael Young move through three infield positions. A front office that paid a FA SS 8 Mill to play Left Field. And a front office that wanted to move their second baseman to LF prior to the Fielder trade. They'll find a home for Gallo.

Like I said, Gallo is likely attainable. I just don't think Texas does it for anything less than a Top 10 player. I think they're that high on him.

I was looking for deals for Aaron Loup (1.89 era in July at AAA). Cubs really need bullpen help. It's the only need on their trade block due to multiple injuries (their second best healthy reliever is 69 overall). I can offer Loup and maybe another low end reliever like Jenkins and I was wondering what I could get back.

I was looking at Dan Volbach to maybe take over 1B next season. They would do the 1-1 swap. Is this fair?? They have so many good players and prospects I can't decide what I could take back haha

Considering Danny is being blocked at 1b by Rizzo, he's defiantly expendable. Vogelbach is all power, decent glove at first with below average contact. His power is off the chart though.

I would add Phillies to this list if you're going to add the Braves. They have a great mix of young pitching talent & position players.

Thanks man. I figured that. I may lose Bautista and EE next year so will need to try and replace some power. I figure Danny could be a nice option for me to develop. Would Loup get it done or will I need to add?

The only way that would work is if Loup was in the MLB putting up those numbers and not AAA.
