As a Yankee Fan, I don't think Bird is even close to enough for Franco, and if I was the Phillies, I'd want some pretty high-end prospects. He's the guy you build a roster around, and Bird had holes in his game already and might never be the same after the surgery.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Depends on who the prospects are, IMO. If it's someone like Owens, Johnson, Kopech, Travis. I have no problem with that deal.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
With OSFM 2.2 released tonight, I'm about to start my franchise with the Houston Astros. I'm pretty comfortable with the entire team, though I kinda s*ck for some reasons with Springer at the plate (his plate vision is kinda low, though I suspect I'm the one being way too aggressive with him at the plate).
Not to the point where I'd be ready to give up on him, but wouldn't be against the idea of moving him down to the 5th spot of the order if possible, at least until I can improve his plate vision significantly. Either someone who can be used as a DH, or in the outfield. Any names come to mind, that could be available (and affordable) ?
The other change I'm contemplating is bringing a right-hand bat (or switch) to platoon 3rd base with Valbuena, and occasionally be used elsewhere in the infield. My initial target here is Yangervis Solarte (Padres). See any way to make that work ?
Overall, I'm ready to trade any of my young 1B (T.White, J.Singleton, A.J. Reed) and Alex Bergman, if the right deal comes along. Evan Gattis, Matt Duffy and Colby Rasmus are pretty much the only roster player I'm willing to part with this season.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm in first place with the Marlins in my franchise and looking to make some additions to my team for a good playoff run. I need a starting catcher, left handed reliever and back up shortstop.
Would a package of Lucroy, Villar and Smith for Realmuto+ be realistic? Or is that too much for Milwaukee to give up off their roster?Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
His contract is a legit issue. Most teams cannot take on that type of salary, and would hesitate to do so while also giving away valuable prospects. His value really depends on how well he is pitching. $28 million per year for a pitcher that hasn't broken 3 WAR since 2013 is a tough pill to swallow.Comment

I simmed year one. Got rid of Sanchez at deadline for two c prospects. Trying to rid myself of these contracts. As much as I'd love to move jv, I know its difficult. If I have to I'll use him out of pen or closer I willLast edited by kenp86; 04-27-2016, 12:09 PM.Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment
