Going through the dynamic contrast settings, it to me looks the best on high as it seems to have a lot more visible detail.

It is my understanding that with this setting on, it hampers animation. Is that true?

Thank you in advance for your help.

PS the game looks phenomenal on just about any settings.
If your saying it's too dark at 60 something is wrong. Mine is at default 45 (where it should stay). Dynamic contrast is kind of personal preference when it comes to HDR. I use medium personally.

For you though, I would make sure your color spaces are matching for TV and console. It shouldn't be dark with 60 brightness.

60 brightness is too high. Is your smart LED at high and backlight 20?

That's pretty close to where I had my intensity slider.

Color space on native oversaturate colors when watching SDR content. In HDR it's fine.
Straight from the handbook over at the AVS forums and I quote, "Color Space: This changes the color gamut of your picture. For SDR content, setting this to "Native" will make your colors more saturated, although this might not look good to you. For HDR content, use "Auto". For HDR+, use “Native”.

I don't want to start an argument and I know you and I have the same TV. So I'll just chalk it up to preference now because at the end of the day that's all that matters. Just like I don't think Dynamic Contrast is needed but others do.

It didn't look washed out when I tried it earlier. Have just never been a fan of turning stuff on that may degrade picture quality. I can always try it again.

I do want to echo someone else's comment earlier about how great this thread is. I knew I made a wise decision back in November when I sprung for a 60" KS8000, and seeing so many fellow owners of that set in here is very reassuring. Plus, you guys all seem to know WAY more about a lot of this than I do so having all of these very specific recommendations for that very TV to use with this incredible game is beyond awesome. Thanks to all who contribute!

This game is so gorgeous with HDR maxed out and either 4k or enhanced (loving the smoothness).

                      Playing on a 65" Sony Z9D.

That looks like your HDR intensity is set to 25 not 75

He was referring to Live Color on the TV settings.

                            I have a 4K tv.
How can I tell if the game is running in 4K?

I'm guessing if you press the Info button on your remote, it will tell you what resolution it's playing in?

Otherwise, there is an option that you have to switch to either be in 4K (2160p), enhanced (1440p), or normal (1080p).

You should have an info button on your TV remote. It should say the resolution in that. 3840x2160.
